Any patients of Dr. Morgan can contact me, if you'd like me to continue your medical care. I know switching doctors, especially under these circumstances, is difficult. I will only look at his patient files with your permission.

I also invite anyone to visit me for check-ups and to ensure that your medical information is up to date.

Hello, Dr Cuddy.

I do not know how much you know about my situation, but you are welcome to look at Dr Morgan’s notes. I arrived on this station without the use of my sight, and my left hand was amputated some time ago.

Just over a fortnight ago, Dr Morgan completed an operation to provide me with as prosthetic eye that has been very successful, and I can now happily refer to myself as partially sighted rather than completely blind.

At that time, he also operated on the left arm to tidy up the rather uncivilised job of the surgeons of my own era. This was with the intention of working with a prosthetic hand, provided by Dr O’Hara, once it had healed correctly. I was supposed to return for Dr Morgan to see how the arm had healed on Monday just past, but as you know, he was no longer here.

I apologise if I am simply repeating facts you already knew about, but I felt the clearer the information the better for you.

Hello.

No need to apologize.  You'e right.  It's best to know as much as I can about your condition and treatments.

How have you been feeling since the operations?

I would like you to come in for a follow up.  I may have many questions for you as well once I've reviewed your file.

Is it alright if I contact Dr. O’Hara and ask him about the prosthetic hand?

Dr Cuddy,

I have been well. Although the arm was quite tender immediately following the operation, any discomfort has since passed. As for my sight, it is taking more getting used to. I could see nothing but light and shadow for approximately six months prior to the operation. Now everything is clear on the left only, and it is taking some effort to get used to performing tasks. I'm not sure if it is depth perception, or what you might call it. It is getting better all the time, but I do get headaches. I'm not sure if that is adjusting to bright lights (electricity is also new to me) or squinting or both.

When would you like to see me?

Yes, it is perfectly fine to discuss any of this with Dr O'Hara.

Mr. Rochester.

The headaches are most likely straining from adjusting to the light and the accompanying squinting. Even people used to electricity, can get headaches from staring at their phones or other screens for too long. Give yourself breaks if you do use your phone often and use soft lighting in your apartment. Are there any accompanying symptoms? Blurred or double vision?

How's tomorrow morning at nine?

Thank you. I'll get in touch with him.

Dr. Cuddy.

Dr Cuddy,

Thank you, that is quite reassuring. I shall see if I can dim the lighting about the apartment at least. No other symptoms that I can think of.

That would be perfect, I shall see you then.
