Carnaval de la Lumière

So, sort of not really a modly post. A state of the Nina post. xD HI EVERYONE.

I've been pretty absent from things, Sara's keeping the whole place together like a boss. I blame work, kind of having three jobs, school holidays and general STUFF that proves I fail at juggling more than two or so things at once. So- ..all the love to Sara and her hard work writing up stuff and organising everything SO WE CAN HAVE NICE THINGS. Yay. I plan to be more helpful now the things have settled. I planned to bring more characters in- it didn't happen, so we'll see if it does. Right now I'm happy with my three.

Also, hey folks with plans, I'm glad to see you're still kicking about and some new characters too, woo! - we'll have a Character Survey thingy up soon to do all the planning in, which I'm excited for. I have ZOMBIE PLANS and costume plans and all sorts of things. We can have heroic people, and bitten people and people helping the medical folk and ..YEAH. Keep an eye out for it.

Speaking of plans? Wow. 1930's Halloween. You fucking scary.

Just a quick note about stuff re: plot! I have put up a convo relating to it.

James has headed into Enid for the afternoon, so I was thinking that'd be a good kick off for perhaps some missing person interaction! As per the other !modpost it was mentioned that perhaps someone from the carnival could come across one of the missing women – in order to kickstart a ..finding out where the hell they are at, and plotting how to rescue them. Woo!

So if you have a missing lady, feel free to drop in on the conversation – they can perhaps be collecting supplies for ladytown. Yep, they can talk and respond as a normal person to James, it's just they wouldn't seek him out, or upon meeting him ask to be rescued. They won't even have any interest in returning to the carnival at or in seeing anyone from it, even if they've been separated from a loved one/canon-mate.

So yeah! Jump on in, maybe only two ladies at most, due to timezones and slowness.

Also feel free to add things on to the list of requests for the town trip!

Hello everyone!

Here I am, finally introducing myself, a fact which I feel really terrible about, because hey I'm actually a co-mod here. No, Sara hasn't just tacked on an extra name to all the mod posts to look fancy. I actually exist. I'm Nina and I am ridiculously excited for this game, and if I'm honest, excited that there are actual PEOPLE here excited about it too. Just AHH. EXCITEMENT PARTY.

I'm pleased to meet you all, and interact with and hopefully get involved with some plots. I see we actually have a tit-bit of plot to read about so far on the board - so, who do I play?

by_your_leave Mr. James Norrington - Pirates of the Caribbean - Ah James, the poor fellow. I've brought him from the point in canon that he's at his lowest. Having lost his commission, crew and ship, gone are the proud, noble Naval Officer ways, as he's now a bad tempered drunkard who is more or less a pirate. Only he really hates being a pirate, unlike your traditional ..scoundrels that seem to enjoy their profession. He did recently find a way to redeem his former glory, only ..it's not going to happen because he got dragged here. James is not happy with this development. He's not going to be a heap of fun to talk to, but he won't avoid conversation. If you're a roughy/roustabout, he's part of your crew. He also probably always looks pretty grumpy. GOOD LUCK. lolz!1

rainbow_parasol Kaylee Frye - Firefly/Serenity - if you're not familiar with the fandom, it's a ..space western thing. It's amazing. It really is and I don't like Sci-Fi that much. Kaylee's the ship's mechanic and a genius one at that. She's an unashamed optimist, with near unsinkable levels of happy. She's come from the point where the Serenity crew have just set down on Beaumond only to see two people dear to her jump ship. She'll make the best of her situation here, she's used to living pretty rough - though at least Serenity had toilets and showers. She'll be chatty with just about everyone and probably spend a lot of her pay on sweets from the vendors - does she get staff discount? Eventually she hopes to be given the role of mechanic for the circus. For now she's helping out with the knife thrower, by being the ..person who stands there and hopes not to be stabbed somewhere. She's not gonna have a fun time with that.

it_worked Dr. Juliet Burke Carlson - LOST - Okay, I freaking love LOST. I love it. I felt like a long term relationship was over when the show ended. *sob* Errr- So, here we have a twist on the character. Juliet Carlson is from the 'flash-sideways' of the LOST timeline. She has not YET remembered anything from the Island, but I plan for it to happen. Thus she has come from a world where she is working in L.A. at St Sebastian's as a Obstetrician, her ex-husband is Jack Shepherd and she has a son. She'll be out of place here and miss all the modern-type things, but adapt as quickly as she can. She'll do her best to patch up wounds and care for the sick if/when it happens, but for now she's selling balloons. She's pretty easy going and friendly so she won't be hard to strike up conversation with. I think the hardest thing on her will be missing her son.
