Who: Mia and Brynn
When: Just after Lockdown, March 3
Where: On White Block
What: Mia wakes up, wanders off, gets brought back, and still isn't where she's supposed to be. Brynn lends a helping hand.
Mia knew that time had passed, by itself that was a surprise. That Mia had sat up in her bed, after having lain there being constantly looked after for the past month on her owner's dime, looked around and appeared to recognize the world itself was just as big. She still didn't speak, but she hauled her body up, carefully removed tubes and set off equipment that she stared at numbly for a short while before deciding that she apparently didn't like the noise and making them shut up, and got out of bed. Her legs, quite promptly due to a lack of anything even remotely resembling use, gave out on her, depositing the somewhat surprised girl on the floor of her room. They had been keeping her in medical. After the first week, it was decided that she was taking up a bed in medical that could be used for someone else, so they moved her back to her room in White and proceeded to wait the whole thing out.
She did not have the decency to wake up during the hours of daylight and the fact that she silenced the alarms meant that those who should have been monitoring her over night were left without warning that Mia was, as was almost customary with the little woman, gone.
Where on earth with the sun fled from the sky? Lockdown was going to happen soon. One of the roaming guards caught sight of her as she walked through the compound, her eyes looking round, this way and that to try and make sense of what she saw. As if she had never seen this place before. To recognize her room and then not recognize the rest of the island where she was born and raised? A very odd thing indeed. Yet she was walking along, slowly, as if searching for something. Her progress was hardly difficult to keep up with, her moving at a snail's pace on legs that barely wanted to support her.
The change in terrain said she had made it to the beach. Somehow, she had managed not to walk into the gate, but rather through it. Thank heaven for small favors. However, now that she was there, it was quite late. Really time for her to be back in White. This left the guard who had followed her with a minor dilemma. Mia, while not known for being directly dangerous, was known for being hard to force compliance with. She didn't seem to know there were really rules anymore. Instead, she just did mostly whatever she pleased and people worked around her. It was time to call Lockdown though and she was going to be stuck out in the dark. That would be a very bad thing indeed.
"Come on," he called to her, reaching out. Mia looked at his hand with her usual confusion and then back toward the water that looked black without the lights of civilization. "It's time to go in." Best to keep it smooth and non-hostile. Agitating her was a bad idea all around. When she looked at him again, she put her hand out to him, touching his skin. They'd dressed her in a plain white dress for the time when she'd been sleeping and she came out without shoes. Just a little wide eyed girl lost in a big bad world. So very like her. However, she did allow herself to be led back to the Block and locked in. Then she sat down in the hall and proceeded to stare at the walls. Such a strange little woman.
