LAYOUT OF THE GALA
Dining/seating There are 100 tables configured in a U-shape around a large dancefloor/stage.
Stage/dance floor The dance floor shrinks during presentations and the celebrity auction and expands during dinner and dancing.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
6:00 Welcome Pansy Nott welcomes all attendees, goes over the schedule for the evening, and explains the mission of the charity.
6:30 Dinner A four course meal appears intermittently over the half hour.
7:00 Orchestra/Dancing As the last course--dessert--is served, the orchestra picks up and the dance floor expands for dancing.
7:30 Celebrity Auction The music dims to a soft accent as Pansy Nott and Demo Finnigan-Thomas take the stage to begin the celebrity date auction.
8:30 Concert/Dancing Several musical guests begin performing, kicked off with a duet featuring Wes Carlisle and Violet Nott, and the dance floor expands.
10:00 Function Ends Pansy Nott takes the stage to announce the end of the silent auction. Results will be tallied and winners will receive their goods by 13 July. She announces the end of the gala, though the concert continues until midnight.

Beau Rosier "To kick off our celebrity date auction is our favorite child actor all grown up! Beau Rosier first caught our eye as a cheeky lad on WeeVee's Merlin-under-Hangtree, but he's certainly proved himself a man of many talents, coming in second last year in the reality competition Let's Dance. I know I can't wait to see what role he takes on next! And so, I'd love to cast the opening bid at thirty galleons..."
Blaise Zabini "Our next celebrity hardly needs an introduction, but I do so love talking about him. Blaise Zabini, owner and editor of the Daily Prophet and perpetual bachelor, has set many a heart a-flutter, though none have managed to usurp the love he has for the paper. Win the bid for a date with him, and perhaps you'll have that special something he can't resist..."
Gareth Wagtail "Although our next celebrity is best known for a drunken fly over a muggle village last winter, Gareth Wagtail is a fantastic retired Chaser and current trainer for the Montrose Magpies. Outbid everyone else for a date with him, and I'd bet you'll be in for a wild ride..."
Gavin Montgomery "The Montrose Magpies have taken the league by storm this season with the help of our next celebrity. Gavin Montgomery, one of the best Beaters we've seen on the pitch since Cooper Reynolds' days on a broom, has quite the reputation of disappointing anyone who wants to snare his attention for more than a night, but just imagine all that intensity focused on only you for that single night! Who will start the bidding..."
Ginny Weasley "Everyone knows our favorite red-headed spitfire war hero! Ginny Weasley is Harpies Chaser turned Daily Prophet sports writer and editor, but don't be fooled. A desk job has done nothing to tame the spunk out of her, and a little birdie tells me she's hoping you lovely ladies will join in the bidding for a date with her..."
Harry Potter "I think you'll all agree that heartbroken is not a good look for our most famous of celebrities. Harry Potter, Hogwarts Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, is single and ready to mingle again--at least for a good cause. So ladies, here he is, get him with the winning bid..."
Rachel Turpin-Davies "Our next celebrity is up and coming Holyhead Harpies Chaser, Rachel Turpin-Davis. Quick as a snitch with an instinct for banter, the only thing this flying ace chases is the Quaffle, so you better keep up, cause she won't be chasing you..."
Thad Nott "We do love our Magpies, don't we? Next up is Montrose Magpies Seeker, and my second son, Thad Nott. I know, I know, him being my son doesn't make him famous, but his impressive flying and seeking certainly does! Victoire Weasley "If you find it almost impossible to look away from our next stunning celebrity, that's because Victoire Weasley is part veela via the Delacour family and a world-renowned fashion model. Wes Carlisle "Our final celebrity of the night has been charming us through the radio and on the stage for a decade. The way she walked to the bar, he could tell she wasn't steady on her feet. He couldn't tell just how intoxicated she was, but it was enough that she was having the smallest bit of trouble walking. Then her words sealed the deal, no more alcohol. He gave a nod of his head, lifting his cup to clang against hers, before he took a sip of his own. It was that moment that he decided, he was going to be sure she got home alright. Even if that just meant depositing her into the hands of a family member at the event.

His water was set down a moment later, glancing at the bartender. "Another round, please," he said with a tap to the bar, getting them both another water. It never hurt to rehydrate, it always helped a hangover. "Have you been enjoying the music? I don't think I've heard anything but that Nott girl before tonight. She's got a set of lungs on her," he said casually, a lame attempt to not mention that he was intending to help her make it home in one piece.

Oh yes, she was terribly thirsty, Lucy realized as she finished the first glass quick enough to have it sloshing around her stomach uncomfortably. She was grateful, though, when he ordered a second one, even though she planned to drink it a bit slower this time. The last thing she wanted to do was vomit when she was having such a lovely night.

"Oh yeah, Violet's a fantastic musician," she said agreeably, though her smile was a little tight. They'd been year-mates at Hogwarts, so she'd known Violet forever, but she'd never quite meshed with the other girl. There was just something... lacking there, she rather thought. But she didn't minimize Violet's talent or begrudge her this success. Perhaps she was just surprised that she'd actually had enough drive to do something with all that talent. "But I'll never be disappointed to see Wes Carlisle perform," she admitted, her tone far more sultry than it would have been had she been sober.

It wasn't hard to pick up on the fact that she didn't care much for Violet, but that she was a fan of Wes. Jaimeson was almost certain that there wasn't a person on the planet that didn't enjoy the man's music. He even owned some himself, though nothing like what was going for auction. He didn't have that kind of money.

There was something about her voice that said she was attracted to him, something that didn't surprise him, but her usual self wouldn't have let that much emotion in her voice with him around. She enjoyed giving him the cold shoulder. "You don't think his pants were too tight, do you?" he asked curiously, that ridiculous smile of his quick to appear.

Was she flushed from the alcohol, the dancing, or the thought of how tight Wes's pants were? Laughing, not even realizing it wasn't only in her head, she shook her head. "Definitely not too tight," she hummed.

Downing the rest of her water--forgetting that she'd intended to sip it--as she heard what song had just started. "Oh my god, I love this song!" she gushed, pushing away from the bar, thinking of how fun it would be to be back in the throng, dancing.

There had been little doubt before now that Lucy was a handful, now seeing her in action when she was cutting loose, he knew for certain. He gave a laugh when she gushed, setting his own water down next to the second that had been set in front of him.

"Care to dance?" he asked, holding his hand out once more for her. He had just vowed to be sure she got home safely, it'd be in bad form if he abandoned her now. It was just an added benefit that she looked positively delicious in that dress and he absolutely loved dancing with her already once tonight.

Still buzzed enough to not be wound so tightly in control, Lucy slipped her hand in his and let him lead her back out to dance. The song had a strong, fast beat, and she rocked her hips back and forth, arms raised high above her head as she felt the music in a way she never seemed to be able to while sober. It wouldn't last--it couldn't, she had far too much to achieve to succumb to whims such as this for more than the rare night.

Just moments before he was ready to head home, but now here he was in deep in the crowd, pressed close to the woman he'd been looking for all night. He'd finally caught up to her.

His body moved so easily with hers, hips able to match her without missing a beat. He enjoyed dancing of any sort, adjusting so easily to the song currently moving the night. His hands hovered close to her hips, touching without quite touching. Instead of worrying how he had an alarm set for five, he let himself get lost to the music, and enjoy dancing with the hottest woman there.

Although the crowd had thinned out some with people heading home in spurts since the silent auction ended, there were still plenty of people--mostly in their 20's, it seemed like--still on the dancefloor, enjoying the concert. Almost surprised she was one of them--or she would be surprised were she sober--Lucy was still inebriated enough that she was absolutely loving it! The press of bodies, the someone still high energy of the crowd. One would think they'd be losing energy by now, and yet she had to wonder how many of them wouldn't be able to sleep at all tonight from the residual energy.

When someone bumped into her hard from behind, shoving her at Jaimeson, she laughed, her arms flinging out, hands catching his shoulders. She looked up at him, her blue eyes hazy, and blurted out, "Ugh, you are so pretty," as if it was the biggest affront of the night. Really, he had no right to be so damn gorgeous, especially considering how bloody obnoxious he was!

It took him by surprise when suddenly he had a handful of Lucy and he wasn't even slightly sad about it. His hands came to rest against her lower back, chocolate orbs meeting her gaze. That cocky smirk appeared at her words, a laugh leaving him. "I'm so sorry," he said sarcastically. "You should do something about it."

Tilting her head and blinking at him, she wondered just what he had in mind with that. Somehow she didn't think he was suggesting she scratch up his pretty face. And she certainly wasn't going to kiss him. As pretty as he was, his was a punchable face, not a kissable one! And then she landed on something ridiculous that her inebriated mind thought absolutely perfect.

Leaning up with a playful growl, she bit his scruffy jaw, not quite hard enough to leave marks, but not quite gently either.

If Lucy had asked, Jaimeson wouldn't have known what he had expected either. Whatever it was, it wasn't what she did. She gave him goosebumps, a shiver even causing him to shake playfully against her. "Shit," he laughed, arms squeezing around her middle to hold her there for a moment. "You're a feisty little package," he teased her in a low voice.

Then, because he was curious as to what her reaction would be. He leaned his head down to let out a low, playful growl. "Be careful, I bite back."

Warmth of an entirely different nature spread through her at his words, and dampness started soaking into her knickers. Damn it, how long had it been that an ass like him could actually turn her on?

And then he growled at her and said those words, and a sound utterly unlike her slipped from her lips. Was it a gasp? A moan? A wordless plea for him to yes please? Whatever it was, it certainly hadn't been unfavorable, nor was the way her head tilted just so.

Did he kiss her? Did he not? He was looking down at her in his arms, holding his breath as he mentally debated if he was going to kiss her or not. After what felt to him to be an eternity, he bent his head in to let his lips ghost across hers. When he laid in bed later thinking about this moment, he'd swear he didn't breathe until she moved.

Oh good good, his lips really were ghosting over hears, weren't they? It had been months since she'd even been kissed, and in that moment, it didn't matter that it was Jaimeson, thorn in her side, it only mattered that he was warm and gorgeous and there.

Her hands lifted, pressing against the back of his neck, pulling against him to press her lips back against his firmer.

One hand on her back moved lower, to rest so that his palm was against her lower back. Selfishly he wanted more, but there was little voice that reminded him not to go too far. Maybe if they could get their hands on sober up but...

That wasn't a concern for right now. Right that very moment, he wanted her to remember the kiss in the morning. He wanted Lucy to not only remember it, but to think of it fondly as the best kiss she'd ever had. He deepened the kiss, tasting the alcohol on her lips, but there under it all was the Lucy. A low groan grumbled in his chest as he realized it.

As his hand slipped to her lower back, Lucy pressed against him, no longer even really hearing the music anymore, all of her senses wrapped up in him. She opened her mouth to him, tongue brushing against his, welcoming him into her mouth. God, he tasted so good, and she wanted more of him.

One hand slid down from the back of his neck, fingers toying with the buttons of his shirt even as she kissed him.

It was, hands down, one of the hardest things he'd ever have to do. He had court coming up soon, he had an image that he had to uphold. Her hands were so warm, but as soon as he felt them on the buttons, he bought his own hands up to stop hers.

"We gotta get you home," he murmured as he broke the kiss, chocolate eyes meeting her gaze. He wanted to ask if she had any sober up at her place, but his mind was chaos. He wanted to say to hell with everything, to give in to his racing pulse, but he knew he had to stop them. He gulped then, taking a step from her, and clearing his throat.

"Okay," she breathed, not understanding right away that he meant to get her safely home, not to take her home and ravish her. It had been too long since she'd let loose like this, ages since she'd been legitimately drunk, and somehow she knew the sex would be fantastic.

And then he took a step away from her, and her hands gripped the front of his shirt to keep from stumbling, her brows furrowed in confusion.

There was a moment where he debated his options. He could find his Uncle Hyperion, who he was certain could get his hands on some sober up, if he didn't have it on himself. There was always Aldrich, the lovable fool had told him earlier in the night how he had brought his bike. He was likely the only wizard that had brought any sort of muggle vehicle.

Without moving from the spot, he cast a familiar spell to let him know if his cousin was in the crowd. When it came back to him that he wasn't anywhere nearby, Jaimeson spotted his Uncle Coop in the crowd, what were the odds he'd brought his bike?

Seconds later they were standing in front of his uncle, and luck was on Jaimeson's side. His uncle was able to give them the keys to his bike, and he was able to take her to where his uncle had parked the bike. "Where to?" he asked her, using his wand to call the helmets out from where his uncle had shrunk and hid them.

Lucy was a bit confused when he dragged her over to stand in front of Cooper Reynolds--of course she knew of the famous beater-turned-coach!--but she just waited to see what it was about rather than expressing her confusion. And then he was getting keys to a bike, and Lucy's brows shot up.

Snorting a soft laugh when they reached said bike, Lucy stared at him as if he'd grown another head. "How am I supposed to ride on that thing in this?" she asked, motioning down to her gown. There was no way she was going to transfigure it, not wanting to risk the integrity of the dress her sister had made for her. Although it did occur to her that if she'd gone with her first choice, that shorter red number, she would have been able to ride without much issue.

The reality was, though, that she was still plenty drunk enough to give it a go. Shaking her head, she added, "My flat's in London." She couldn't imagine them driving on that thing all the way to London from Cardiff.

"You pose a lot of really good questions," he told her with a sly smile. "I think I've got an idea. What if you take off the dress, I can shrink it to fit into a saddle bag, I'll give you my shirt, and we can ride back to my house? It's not far outside Cardiff, what do you say?" he asked. "I'll even resize your dress once we get there, so that it'll hang properly."

Lucy snorted a soft laugh at that shaking her head. "Are you insane? Here, just get on, I'll figure it out," she promised. Once he got on the bike, she hiked the skirt of her gown up to her knees and gathering it up between her legs. She swung her leg over the bike and pressed close to him, letting the dress bunch up between her stomach and his back.

"Helmet?" she asked, taking it from him when he passed it back. After she snapped the strap in place, she leaned forward, wrapping her arms around him. It felt freeing to not be obsessing every choice through, though sober!Lucy might not agree tomorrow.

Her question was met with that wonderful smile, before he climbed on to the bike. It roared to life under him, and he looked perfectly at ease on the monster bike. The helmet was handed over when asked for, and once she was in place, he peeled out.

While Jaimeson hadn't bought a bike of his own, it wasn't practical just yet, he often borrowed his uncle's bike. He maneuvered easily through the streets, even speeding up once they hit open road. He loved when he got to borrow his uncle's bike, enjoying these moments when he got to push it. Then, all too soon for him, they were pulling into his driveway, and inside the garage. Magical shields tripped, recognizing him, shutting the garage door behind them.

He removed his helmet, before holding his hand out to help her off the bike. "Welcome to my home, can I get you anything?" he asked while motioning towards the door that led into his kitchen. It was a modest 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home. Just enough to give his daughter her own room and leave one open for his office. He was rather proud of his little place.

The ride was exhilarating, the wind hitting her face even with his body blocking the worst of it, but the night air had chilled enough that her arms were broke out in chills by the time they reached his house. It also served to sober her up just a little bit. Enough that she flushed lightly when he helped her off his bike, and she adjusted the skirt of her gown around her legs.

Following him, not entirely sure what she was doing, she answered, "Water, thank you." It was a cute, modest little house, not terribly unlike the one she'd grown up in. "The concert wasn't quite over, you know," she pointed out, leaning against one of the counters. There had to have been at least ten more minutes of good music left.

Jaimeson led the way into the the kitchen, where he went about getting her a water out of his icebox. He held it out to her as he turned around, smirking at her words. "I can make it up to you by putting on a record?" he pointed behind the spiral steps, towards the living room where there was a floor to ceiling bookcase. It was filled with books as well as records and various knick knacks.
