RP: The Literacy Flourishes Charity Gala

What: The Literacy Flourishes charity gala and celebrity date auction.

LAYOUT OF THE GALA
Dining/seating There are 100 tables configured in a U-shape around a large dancefloor/stage.
Stage/dance floor The dance floor shrinks during presentations and the celebrity auction and expands during dinner and dancing.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
6:00 Welcome Pansy Nott welcomes all attendees, goes over the schedule for the evening, and explains the mission of the charity.
6:30 Dinner A four course meal appears intermittently over the half hour.
7:00 Orchestra/Dancing As the last course--dessert--is served, the orchestra picks up and the dance floor expands for dancing.
7:30 Celebrity Auction The music dims to a soft accent as Pansy Nott and Demo Finnigan-Thomas take the stage to begin the celebrity date auction.
8:30 Concert/Dancing Several musical guests begin performing, kicked off with a duet featuring Wes Carlisle and Violet Nott, and the dance floor expands.
10:00 Function Ends Pansy Nott takes the stage to announce the end of the silent auction. Results will be tallied and winners will receive their goods by 13 July. She announces the end of the gala, though the concert continues until midnight.

Beau Rosier "To kick off our celebrity date auction is our favorite child actor all grown up! Beau Rosier first caught our eye as a cheeky lad on WeeVee's Merlin-under-Hangtree, but he's certainly proved himself a man of many talents, coming in second last year in the reality competition Let's Dance. I know I can't wait to see what role he takes on next! And so, I'd love to cast the opening bid at thirty galleons..."
Blaise Zabini "Our next celebrity hardly needs an introduction, but I do so love talking about him. Blaise Zabini, owner and editor of the Daily Prophet and perpetual bachelor, has set many a heart a-flutter, though none have managed to usurp the love he has for the paper. Gavin Montgomery "The Montrose Magpies have taken the league by storm this season with the help of our next celebrity. Gavin Montgomery, one of the best Beaters we've seen on the pitch since Cooper Reynolds' days on a broom, has quite the reputation of disappointing anyone who wants to snare his attention for more than a night, but just imagine all that intensity focused on only you for that single night! Who will start the bidding..."
Ginny Weasley "Everyone knows our favorite red-headed spitfire war hero! Ginny Weasley is Harpies Chaser turned Daily Prophet sports writer and editor, but don't be fooled. A desk job has done nothing to tame the spunk out of her, and a little birdie tells me she's hoping you lovely ladies will join in the bidding for a date with her..."
Harry Potter "I think you'll all agree that heartbroken is not a good look for our most famous of celebrities. Harry Potter, Hogwarts Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, is single and ready to mingle again--at least for a good cause. So ladies, here he is, get him with the winning bid..."

Lucy was a bit confused when he dragged her over to stand in front of Cooper Reynolds--of course she knew of the famous beater-turned-coach!--but she just waited to see what it was about rather than expressing her confusion. And then he was getting keys to a bike, and Lucy's brows shot up.

Snorting a soft laugh when they reached said bike, Lucy stared at him as if he'd grown another head. "How am I supposed to ride on that thing in this?" she asked, motioning down to her gown. There was no way she was going to transfigure it, not wanting to risk the integrity of the dress her sister had made for her. Although it did occur to her that if she'd gone with her first choice, that shorter red number, she would have been able to ride without much issue.

The reality was, though, that she was still plenty drunk enough to give it a go. Shaking her head, she added, "My flat's in London." She couldn't imagine them driving on that thing all the way to London from Cardiff.

"You pose a lot of really good questions," he told her with a sly smile. "I think I've got an idea. What if you take off the dress, I can shrink it to fit into a saddle bag, I'll give you my shirt, and we can ride back to my house? It's not far outside Cardiff, what do you say?" he asked. "I'll even resize your dress once we get there, so that it'll hang properly."

Lucy snorted a soft laugh at that shaking her head. "Are you insane? Here, just get on, I'll figure it out," she promised. Once he got on the bike, she hiked the skirt of her gown up to her knees and gathering it up between her legs. She swung her leg over the bike and pressed close to him, letting the dress bunch up between her stomach and his back.

"Helmet?" she asked, taking it from him when he passed it back. After she snapped the strap in place, she leaned forward, wrapping her arms around him. It felt freeing to not be obsessing every choice through, though sober!Lucy might not agree tomorrow.

Her question was met with that wonderful smile, before he climbed on to the bike. It roared to life under him, and he looked perfectly at ease on the monster bike. The helmet was handed over when asked for, and once she was in place, he peeled out.

While Jaimeson hadn't bought a bike of his own, it wasn't practical just yet, he often borrowed his uncle's bike. He maneuvered easily through the streets, even speeding up once they hit open road. He loved when he got to borrow his uncle's bike, enjoying these moments when he got to push it. Then, all too soon for him, they were pulling into his driveway, and inside the garage. Magical shields tripped, recognizing him, shutting the garage door behind them.

He removed his helmet, before holding his hand out to help her off the bike. "Welcome to my home, can I get you anything?" he asked while motioning towards the door that led into his kitchen. It was a modest 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home. Just enough to give his daughter her own room and leave one open for his office. He was rather proud of his little place.

The ride was exhilarating, the wind hitting her face even with his body blocking the worst of it, but the night air had chilled enough that her arms were broke out in chills by the time they reached his house. It also served to sober her up just a little bit. Enough that she flushed lightly when he helped her off his bike, and she adjusted the skirt of her gown around her legs.

Following him, not entirely sure what she was doing, she answered, "Water, thank you." It was a cute, modest little house, not terribly unlike the one she'd grown up in. "The concert wasn't quite over, you know," she pointed out, leaning against one of the counters. There had to have been at least ten more minutes of good music left.

Jaimeson led the way into the the kitchen, where he went about getting her a water out of his icebox. He held it out to her as he turned around, smirking at her words. "I can make it up to you by putting on a record?" he pointed behind the spiral steps, towards the living room where there was a floor to ceiling bookcase. It was filled with books as well as records and various knick knacks.

As he got the water out, she glanced around, impressed with the functionality of the layout, but not so impressed with the eclectic colors. She tended to go for cleaner, more cohesive color groupings and patterns--not that it mattered, as it wasn't as though it would ever be hers. It's not as though she was here as a potential buyer, after all.

Lucy took the water from him, twisting the top off and taking a drink, her tongue flicking out over her lips to moisten them after. "If you'd like," she said, agreeably enough although some of her walls had definitely built themselves back up on the ride over. Had he really kissed her not fifteen minutes ago? The thought sent an involuntary shiver through her.

The ride over seemed to do her well, she seemed to have sobered up a bit. He made note of it as he crossed the room, leafing through his vinyl collection. Thanks to his cousins, he had a modest enough collection. After a couple of passes, he pulled out John Legend Love in the Future. He put it on the record player, starting it up. "How do you feel about John Legend?" he asked, curious if she knew who he was.

Pushing away from the counter, Lucy followed Jaimeson through the room, sipping at her water as she looked through the books on his shelves. "Agatha Christie?" she murmured, amused, continuing down the line. It seemed this section housed his mystery novels. "I love John Legend," she answered with an almost wistful note that belied the fact that she wasn't completely sober just yet.

The house was new to Jaimeson, he'd only just moved in within the past six months or so. Lucy wasn't the first woman he'd brought home, she was however the first woman that took interest in the things in the room rather than him. He felt more naked than if he were actually naked in front of her.

"Finding anything interesting?" he asked curiously, his own eyes sweeping over the shelves she had just been walking past. He'd love to know what she was thinking, but he supposed that was the mystery to women. She could have been judging how much dust was on the shelves or what was in the collection, or even both.

"A few things," she answered rather cryptically, not planning to elaborate. It was so strange to be in the home of the man who had so pestered her for months. And had she kissed him? Or had that been a drunk imagining? Her freckled cheeks flushed at the thought.

The way the music filled the room pulled at her, and she dipped her chin down, resisting the urge to ask him to dance while also trying to ignore that voice in her head urging her to flee. Which, really, just left her feeling stuck and lost, and those were feelings she absolutely despised. Lucy swallowed, licked her lips, and looked back up to meet his dark gaze. "I should get home," she whispered, though she made no move to leave.

"Not before one last dance," he said smoothly, stepping up to her then. There was no hesitation as he took her into his arms, effortlessly moving them to the music filling the room. "You're the most irresistible woman I've ever met," he confessed then. It was glaringly obvious that she did things to him, made him forget himself. She had caused him to use his small window of time to dance with her, it was ridiculous. Yet, he found himself absolutely bewitched by her, as they danced.

Jaimeson dared then to kiss her, still swaying them to the music. He found he needed more courage now, as everything felt so much more intimate than the shared kiss at the club had.

Before Lucy could process his words, he'd swept her into a dance, her arms lifting of their own volition to curl over his shoulders. And then he spoke again, and her belly erupted in flutters. It was overwhelming to the point where she was on the verge of pulling his head down to meet her lips.

And then he beat her to it, and she was utterly swept up in the romance of the moment. Which might have pissed her off were she sober, but still being on the less-than-sober side, Lucy felt her bones melting at the heat of his mouth on hers, her body forgetting to sway as she pressed against him.

Large hands came to her hips, unable to stop them as they finally did what he'd wanted to since he'd seen her in that blasted dress, slid up her curves and around to her back so that his palms were against her shoulder blades. She was so soft, and that was his only thought as he stepped forward enough to press her into the shelves behind her. Thankfully nothing moved, already charmed for safety.

He was consumed by her, embracing the moment as he was sure it was going to be one of his last. Tonight was magical, he'd felt it at the gala. She would remember she disliked him tomorrow, when he stuck his tongue out at her from across the office.

The noise she made was music to his ears, he wanted to hear more. He wanted to hear his name falling from her lips, while he was buried between her legs.

Those words short circuited his brain, causing a low groan to slip from him, in the same instant those hands came down to lift her up and into his arms. His own head dipped in then, nipping playfully at her jawline. "You should stay," he whispered in her ear, before he was nipping at her earlobe. "Please."

As he lifted her that little bit, Lucy realized that as gorgeous as her dress was, it was very much in the way, keeping her from jumping up fully and wrapping her legs around him. He wanted her to stay. Did she want to stay? Her body screamed: Yes! Her mind was still fuzzy and warm from the alcohol and energy of the night.

"Show me why," she breathed back against his ear before shifting her head to press a line of kisses from his ear back to his mouth, capturing his lips in another searing kiss.

Her words shot straight between his legs, and Gods how he wanted to have her right there against the bookcase. Her kiss pushed him into motion, only remembering seconds before he ripped her dress that she wanted to keep the dress nice. Instead, he pulled back just enough to start moving to his knees. "Have I ever told you how much I enjoy eating cake?" he asked curiously, hands already lifting her skirt so that she'd catch his slang easily.

The snort was rather automatic, and she laughed as soon as it slipped out, shaking her head as her chin tipped down to watch him work his way under the voluminous layers of her skirt. "You talk too much," she accused, her heeled feet spreading a bit further apart in anticipation.

"Mmm, so worth it," she said decisively, practically falling on him as she slipped her free hand behind his head and pressed her lips against his.

And with her lips fully engaged with his, she pulled her hands free of him, finding the zipper of her dress and sliding it down before nimble fingers found the line of buttons down the front of his shirt.
