Jai and Casper had finally found a time to go out together. Jai had been playing the dutiful wingman, as promised, and Casper hoped that he’d meet some interesting people and maybe get his big brother Milo off his back. Casper had dressed nicely but casually, and was enjoying a few drinks in the crowd when a familiar blonde head walked by with another young witch - a brunette he didn’t quite recognize. He made his way through the throngs, throwing a heads up to Jai that he was wandering off from the bar, and called out, “Fiona?” happily.

Coming out to Sanguine tonight had not been her idea, but Ophelia had come up from Paris for the weekend and absolutely insisted. After spending months in Paris with her cousin, Fiona found she couldn't say no. And honestly, she wanted a fun night out. She wore the most conservative dress out of the choices Ophelia had quite bossily given her.

They had, at least, talked Clary into coming out with them. Athena had to work, Hailey was out of town for the first cycle of duels for the circuit, Tina was lost in domestic bliss, and she didn't even want to ask what Kenzie was up to tonight. So, it was just the three of them for their little ladies night. She wasn't surprised when Ophelia danced away from her and Clary, nor did she hold it against her. She didn't intend to leave Clary, though, no matter their determination to have a bit of fun.

Even though she was having a good time, nearing the end of her first drink of the two she intended, she was still surprised to hear someone call out her name. When she turned and saw it was Casper, a wide smile stretched across her lips. "Casper! Fancy seeing you here," she said as he got close enough to hear her properly. Feeling relaxed and social, she leaned toward him for a brief hug, willing herself to not get distracted by his dimples, no matter how utterly adorable they were.

Casper was surprised at Fiona’s friendly hug, but was a big time hugger himself and so he came away from having had his arms briefly around her with a big grin for her. “Fancy indeed. I finally gave in to peer pressure,” he admitted his grin morphing into something more self-deprecating. “Hello there,” he greeted her friend politely, with a little wave and a smile.

“Have you been here before? I haven’t, but it’s been fun so far,” not exactly his crowd - people less excited to chat and be social than to be grinding each other on the dance floor or making out in the multiple dark corners of the place. But he had met a couple at the bar who were nice - the woman, a petite Nigerian witch with the absolute poshest accent he’d ever heard (he loved it) and her fiance, a French bloke with long blonde (gorgeous, jealousy-inducing) hair - and had chatted with them a bit about their stay in England and their amazing world travels together.

When he said that, her brows furrowed slightly, and she wondered who he'd come out here with. Who was in his social circle? Would they be people she would enjoy being around? Though that was assuming he'd want her to hang out with him beyond a friendly hello. "Oh yeah? Here with friends, then?" Did she sound disappointed? Or eager? Some weird combination of both? Good gods, was it the alcohol? Though she hadn't had that much.

She introduced Casper to Clary, her cousin giving the man a friendly hello before falling back, probably reading more into it than Fiona wanted her to.

"A couple of times, yeah," she answered with a small nod. "It's not my favorite, but my cousin is in country and insisted." Ophelia was far more adventurous than even Athena and Hailey, probably even more adventurous than Kenzie, though she didn't know all the things the younger woman was up to these days. "I'm glad you're enjoying it, though!"

“Oh, yeah!” He looked over his shoulder to the bar and indicated Jaimeson. “My brother has been trying to get me out more, and so Jai,” he gave another sort of nod in his friend’s direction, “suggested we come out tonight to get Milo off my back,” he said with a chuckle. “My brother is very into the club scene, well, definitely more than me.” He blushed a little but was confident it couldn’t be seen in the dark lighting.

“Well then, it must be worth a visit if you’ve come more than once,” he said, and then realized it sounded a little like a come on and his blush deepened. “Where is your cousin visiting from? It must be nice to have them in.” He took a sip of his drink feeling weirdly nervous for some reason. After all, he was just chatting with a coworker, right? Granted, a pretty, kind, brilliant coworker, but still.

When he nodded toward someone, Fiona turned her head to look, and a laugh bubbled up in her throat. "I didn't know you were friends with Jaimeson!" she said. "He's practically a cousin, too." She could understand having a relative more into the club scene, as she had several. "Our dads have been best friends since their Hogwarts days," she explained. And he was only a year older than her, so they'd spent plenty of time together growing up.

Her cheeks flushed at that line, wondering if he was flirting with her. That wasn't so crazy a thought, was it? Though she wasn't entirely sure if she wanted to be flirted with. Even so, it was a nice thought, she supposed. "Ophelia's a Paris girl, through and through," she supplied with a little laugh. "I spent some time there recently, and she dragged me all over. I think someone tattled that I'd not been getting out much since returning, so she came just to drag me out again." The accusation was made in jest. Honestly, she was surprised how little it had taken for Ophelia to get her to come out tonight.

Casper’s eyes went wide in delight and surprise, “Yeah? That’s great! He’s a good one - we’ve been friends since our school days ourselves,” he said, paralleling her story about their fathers.

His features softened at her description of her cousin. “She cares,” he said simply - it was such a nice thought. That a family member would drop everything and travel between countries to come get you out of your shell. Milo’s intentions weren’t nearly as lovely.

“I’ll admit I haven’t spent much time there myself,” he said with another sip of his drink. He’d been to Paris - most wizards of his age in London had, he assumed - but he loved visiting Eastern Europe and probably spent more time in Prague than anywhere else. Now that was a club scene. As he sipped, his eyes skated over her face - not in a lecherous way, but clearly admiring nonetheless.

"He is!" she agreed easily. He was a bit dopey, but she'd never thought that was a bad thing. How could she when her dad was more than a little dopey half the time?

Her smile softened, whether in response to his words or his own expression softening, and she nodded. "Oh, I know she does. She might be younger than me, but I know I can always count on her." She rather thought everyone should have at least one person in their lives that they could count on like that.

Before she could comment on Paris again, someone slammed into her from behind, and her arms flailed out, her drink splashing toward him as a startled sound slipped from her. "Oh mon dieu," she shrieked, dropping her cup, which bounced harmlessly off the floor, and reaching out toward him. "I'm so sorry! Let me just…" She pulled her wand out and vanished the spilled drink, realizing as she did so just how close she was to him. Her cheeks flushing deeply, she looked up at him with bright blue eyes. "Have you got a table? I mean… That's awfully presumptuous, isn't it? It just doesn't seem like this is the best place to talk, and I am enjoying talking with you, and…" she trailed off, looking embarrassed.

When she startled and came so close to him in the jostle, his arms came up protectively immediately, out of instinct. He shot the offender a glare and then looked down at her - she was petite and lovely and so close to him, it was a gorgeous sight. And then she asked about his table and he shook his head. “We don’t, but we can get one,” he said, after she’d trailed off in that soft, pretty way she had.

He couldn’t help it, he gently chucked her under the chin and gave her an encouraging smile. “Let me go speak to the host.” And then he stepped back, gave Clary a nod and a smile, and headed over.

It wasn’t long before he was back with the witches and leading them to a table, making eye contact with Jai on his way to indicate where he was headed. They had been given a table not too far from the bar, a good enough distance from the dance floor, after he had handsomely tipped the host for the trouble. “How’s this then?” he asked cheerfully as he let the ladies get settled in first.

It was only after he'd walked off that her stomach started to unknot itself. The way he'd nudged under her chin, that generous look in his eyes and smile, had the butterflies positively swarming, and she wasn't entirely sure it was all the alcohol's doing. While he was gone, she turned toward Clary, cringing and thanking her when she noticed her cousin had picked up the fallen glass.

She'd barely had time to tell Clary about Casper before he was back and leading them to the table he'd acquired for them, and she nodded as she and Clary sat. "It's great, thank you."

Clary offered to replace her spilled drink then, leaving her and Casper alone for the moment. The look her cousin sent her as she walked away was far more mild than Ophelia's would have been, but Fiona understood it all the same. She rubbed a hand over her heated cheek as she looked back at him. "I don't even remember what we were talking about! But it's nice seeing you outside of work," she told him honestly, the butterflies starting to swarm in her belly again.

“Me neither,” he said with a chuckle, and then added, “but the feeling is mutual.” His eyes conveyed the sincerity of the statement, and he suddenly felt embarrassed. That seemed too sincere a feeling for a night out at the club, right?

“Do you dance much?” he asked, grasping at straws and hoping she hadn’t noticed his blush in the slightly more lit bar area...

Oh yes, the butterflies were going positively wild, and that was such a strange thing. Her thoughts drifted to Jamie, but she forced them away. Even if he could be her future, the time for them wasn't right now, and Casper was awfully attractive. His dimples were massively distracting.

Despite being in a dance club, the question surprised her, though perhaps it was the implication that he was asking her to dance with him. "I don't usually much, no, but I could make an exception, if you're asking," she found herself answering entirely without her permission. "Oh, umm, after Clary's back, that is." It would be a shame for them to lose the table after he'd gone to such trouble to acquire it for them.

He hadn’t meant to ask her to dance, but when she assumed as much he smiled brightly at her, the somewhat heated look not leaving his eyes. “I believe I am,” he answered, wondering what she might be like on the dance floor, all delicate features and soft features. And even better, she normally didn’t dance, but she was happy to dance with him. That made him feel confident and warm in a way he hadn’t in what felt like ages.

When Clary returned, he asked politely if she would mind watching their table so he could accompany Fiona to the dance floor. Clary gave her cousin a look - seemingly positive, if Casper could read it - and then he looked to Fiona and asked, “Shall we?”

Had he not been asking but decided it was a good idea once she'd assumed he had been? Or was he just that excited that she was willing? God, she was awfully rusty at this sort of thing! Even before Desmond, she'd not done a lot of this.

"We shall," she agreed after taking a sip of the drink Clary brought over to her. She scooted it back to Clary, knowing her cousin would keep an eye on it while she was gone, and just as she stood up, Jaimeson came up to the table. She gave him a hug, leaning up to brush a chaste kiss to his cheek. "Casper and I are going to dance. Keep Clary company!" she told him firmly, knowing that he would look after Clary with a similar level of protectiveness she did.

Once she turned toward Casper, though, she felt the shyness creeping back up. Should she take his hand? Would that seem too strange? Too forward? He was a friendly colleague, though, and even further back, had been a friendly dormmate, and he had asked her to dance, so she really ought to stop letting her anxiety run away with her thoughts! That decided, she reached out and slid her hand against his as they made their way toward the throng of dancers.

When Fiona’s hand brushed his, he took hers confidently, and led the way through the crowd to the dance floor, turning his head while they walked to flash her a smile - all dimple.

The music was some sort of rock/pop/electronica mix that he didn’t know, but it had a good beat and the crowd was easy enough to fall into. He turned toward her, keeping hold of her hand, and started moving to the pulse of the room.

As she started to dance, she felt utterly ridiculous. It wasn't the sort of dancing she was used to by any means, but Casper didn't seem an expert at it either. Then again, what he lacked in skills, he made up for in confidence and charisma, which was quite fetching. Shoving her insecurity away, she lost herself in the music, in the energy of the crowd, in him.

As they danced, the press of the crowd grew, and she found herself even closer to him, not that he seemed to mind. And when the thoughts tried to push in again, she stubbornly refused to indulge them. Thinking whatever this was to death wouldn't do her any good, but a bit of dancing and light flirting with an extremely attractive, warm, charming colleague? That would definitely do her good.

The crowd was doing him a lot of favors if he thought about it, but he didn’t, instead he let his body enjoy the moment and his arms came up to wrap lightly around her, testing the waters as to whether she was okay with this, as the crowd pushed her closer to him.

He looked down to her, reading her face for comfort levels and if she might want him to back off, but she didn’t seem uncomfortable and his arms pulled her just a bit closer to him, her body lightly pressing against his own as they both moved to the same beat.

When his arms went lightly around her, anxiety spiked in her, which was silly because she had initiated physical contact first. Both times. And he was warm, and his smile was lovely. And she was so bleeding sick of being anxious all the damn time! Pulling her lower lip between her teeth, she lifted her own hands, resting them against his shoulders.

But then he pulled her closer, and try as she might, she couldn't get her heart rate to calm down, though she tried not to let it show. Even with the anxiety, though, a part of her realized how nice it felt to be pressed lightly against him. But when she felt someone bump into her from behind, nudging her so that she was pressed flush against him, the anxiety would no longer be ignored. The anxiety was morphing into panic, but she was determined not to let it reach that point, not wanting to ruin the evening for anyone.

"It's so hot out here! I think I'm going to get a drink," she told him loudly enough for him to hear before gently pulling away from him to head back to the table, though she stopped short of actually running away.

Casper gave Fiona a light smile and nodded in agreement - it really was hot out here on the dance floor, and as much as he’d enjoyed the feel of his arms around her, he couldn’t begrudge her that. And so he followed her back to the table, keeping his eyes on her retreating form just in case anyone bumped into her again.

They had just settled back into the table, sipping on their drinks and cooling off, when he heard his friend’s name shouted angrily and he whipped his head in the direction to see a somewhat bedraggled redheaded woman - clearly pregnant, clearly Lucy, whom Jai had mentioned - nearly screaming at his friend about being out. He didn’t want to interrupt the scene, or rather wasn’t sure if he should, but he knew he’d have to check in on Jai in the coming days at the very least. In all honesty, he felt rather powerless watching it play out, and so he froze in his seat.

When they reached the table, Clary was still talking with Jaimeson, and Fiona offered them both a warm smile, trying her best to hide the anxiety that was still pulsing through her. She refused to let it swarm into full panic mode. When Lucy came in, she perked up a bit, but it was quickly clear that the wildly pregnant woman hadn't come to join them in a fun night out. The things they were saying to each other didn't make any sense to Fiona. It wasn't like Jaimeson at all to be so callous, and she knew how much he was in love with Lucy and their growing twins. She couldn't help but wonder if Lucy had realized he'd been talking to Clary, who was hardly any sort of threat to their relationship.

And then Lucy threw the ring, and Fiona scoffed, shaking her head. "They are not married. I'm not sure what this is, but it can't be real," she told Casper, though she wasn't sure if she was confident in that or trying to convince herself. Was it possible the couple had eloped and not told anyone?

It was only after the couple stormed off that she remembered her excuse for abandoning the dancefloor, and she lifted her drink to her lips. The full effects of the Diamond Dust weren't immediate, but warmth did spread through her with that first sip, her anxiety dimming and a calm beginning to settle in her.

Casper made a funny look in the couple’s direction at Fiona’s brief narration. This was all very… Odd. And then the next thing he knew, they were both gone and he was left looking confused, startled, and maybe a bit relieved, still sitting with Clary and Fiona.

He let out a “whew,” sort of sigh and looked to the witches to make sure neither were too shaken up. Fiona, at least, looked a bit more calm since they had left the dance floor and so he felt a new wave of relief wash over him. “That was…” he trailed off, at a rare loss for words, “something,” he concluded with a small, embarrassed smile. “I hope they’re alright,” he added, sincerely. He hadn’t realized it, but while keeping his voice down (in reaction to the scene and the looks Jai had gotten from the other club patrons, he supposed), he’d leaned into Fiona’s space a bit, unconsciously ignoring her cousin.

Fiona shook her head at Casper's words, chuckling softly. "I'm sure they're fine, though if there was anything genuine about that fight, I hope she makes him grovel hard for it," she said, though without any true ill will. She'd known Jaimeson her whole life and couldn't believe he would ever talk to someone he loved the way he'd talked to Lucy. And it wasn't as though he'd actually been flirting with Clary!

She took another, longer, sip from her drink, leaning unconsciously toward him in turn. Some time later, when she'd finished her drink, she reached out for his hand. "Would you like to dance again?" she asked, feeling far more relaxed about the idea now than she'd been earlier. She was also far more intrigued with his dimples, so intrigued that she couldn't stop visualizing kissing them.

Casper returned her little laugh, his dimples coming back, replacing his look of concern. “I can’t wait to hear all about it, I’m sure.” He shook his head at the newfound comedy of it all.

When she took his hand he marveled at how soft her skin was, and looked down at their hands joined together. When she asked him to dance he looked up at her face in surprise, and he nodded. “I’d like that.” He was still leaning close to her and had the sudden urge to kiss her softly but refrained. She was a coworker, after all, and even if she’d asked him to dance, that wasn’t an invitation to kiss her. But now that the idea had lodged itself in the forefront of his mind, he found he couldn’t shake it.

He led her to the dance floor once more, feeling more comfortable this time about putting his arms around her, pulling her to him lightly - there was no force in his embrace, she could easily step out of his arms, but he liked the feeling of having her close as they both moved to the music.

This time, when the butterflies erupted in her belly, Fiona embraced them fully, her smile taking on a softly flirtatious edge. He was cute and sweet and fun, and with the Diamond Dust unknowingly flowing through her system, she couldn't think of any reason to exercise caution. She followed him to the dancefloor, both her hands holding one of his, and when he pulled her close, she leaned into him, her body swaying in time to the music.

It wasn't the sort of music she usually danced to, but the strong beat guided her hips as if it were the most natural thing in the world. There was no hesitation, no self-consciousness in her, and a flood of happiness, of excitement washed through her, spurring her on. She couldn't seem to look away from his face, her eyes flicking between his bright green eyes and those bloody dimples that refused to release her attention.

Pressing even closer to him, her hips still swaying to the beat, Fiona trailed one hand up to let her fingers play with the hint of curls at the nap of his neck. "It's unfair how handsome you are," she said, though she hadn't intended to say the words out loud. Realizing that the thought had slipped out, she giggled, but she had no desire to take the words back.

Casper outright grinned at her compliment. “That’s funny, because I was thinking how unfair it is that you’re so beautiful.” He had been thinking it, in a way, and her flirting spurred him on. “For the fates to drop so lovely a witch into my life, and she’s a co-worker,” he sighed, jokingly, and leaned in closer to speak into her ear. “And she’s such a good dancer, too.” The way her body was reacting to the music, and leaning into him the way she was, it was giving him thoughts he shouldn’t have about a colleague, and about how grateful he was that he had ended up here tonight.

He pulled her even closer, his body naturally molding to hers, his arms tightening slightly around her and he allowed himself to revel in the feel of her hand at the nape of his neck. It had been a long time since he’d been touched flirtatiously, and it felt amazing, like soaring.

When he returned the compliment, her back arched, pressing her body more firmly against him, all of the attraction she'd felt toward him since running into him in the breakroom at work ratcheting up to higher levels with her natural inhibitions and anxieties muffled by the drug-spiked drink she'd consumed. "She's glad you think so," she retorted, her cheek pressing against his, her lips ghosting over the shell of his ear.

Pulling back from him, her hands trailed down his arms until they caught his hands, and she gave an extra little shimmy in her dancing, the lights in the club reflecting off the sequins of her dress. "Does that mean co-workers are off limits, then?" she asked, and her tongue flicked out to moisten her lips as she wondered what it might take to get him to kiss her. Though a beat later, she wondered why she didn't just kiss him. Wasn't it silly to wait for a man to make the first move? It wasn't like that had done her much good in the past!

Casper couldn’t help the sigh that escaped him when her body arched into his like that, lighting him up in ways that it had been too long since he’d felt. She seemed far more relaxed now, though he knew she hadn’t had much to drink, sipping on her cocktail from Clary, but he just sort of assumed the mutual flirting had calmed any worries she had. Or perhaps getting a good laugh from watching Jai and Lucy’s row had loosened her up a little bit? He wasn’t sure, but he also wasn’t questioning it too much, enjoying it as he was.

He shook his head, his eyes going just the slightest bit darker, his meaning conveyed there, “No, not at all for me, though this is definitely a first. And you? Are you worried about flirting with a colleague?” He gave her a little wink then, feeling as if he already knew the answer, and looked up and down her dress as she shimmied, her body catching his attention. She was so delicate and beautiful.

Forgetting why she'd wondered if co-workers were off limits to him in the first place, Fiona lost herself in the moment, shaking her head slowly. "Are we flirting, then?" she asked coyly, letting her body sway in close to him again. There was excitement in the warmth spreading through her, the anticipation of what could happen. "I'm not worried about anything." Had she ever said anything truer?

Even sober, she might have been receptive to him flirting with her. It wasn't as though they worked together directly. And those dimples! Damn it all, those dimples were utterly distracting, and she couldn't resist leaning up to brush her lips against one of them.

He nodded, exaggerating, as he laughed. “I believe this is called flirting, yes.” But the laughter on his lips calmed quickly as she came back into his body, his arms moving around her again, pulling her closer than she had been before. When she looked up at him like that, and then kissed him lightly on the cheek, the pressure burst through his chest, and he turned his face to meet her lips with his own, just before she could escape from having kissed him so sweetly.

He held her close, but had there been any hesitation from her, she could have easily stepped back from his embrace, there was no real trappings in his arms. But he’d stopped dancing, and his heart hammered in his chest, as he hoped she wouldn’t.

The music seemed to fade away when his lips caught hers, though the beat still thrummed in her veins. The kiss was warm and sweet, and a shiver started at the top of her head, working its way down her body, all of her nerve endings lighting up. She pressed against him, her mouth opening against his, her teeth snagging his lower lip and sucking lightly on it.

Mindless of the crowd of dancers around them, Fiona kissed him with abandon, her hands moving over him, one sliding into the curls at the base of his neck, the other slipping around his back and under the hem of his shirt, her fingertips teasing the skin at his lower back.

Her hands felt like heaven on him, and his head was spinning with the kiss, his grip naturally getting tighter on her as she responded so enthusiastically. When he broke the kiss, he didn’t move away from her too much, staring into her eyes with a happy, soft smile. And then he spoke, words that seem to come from him unbidden, “You wouldn’t want to leave, by any chance, would you?” If she turned him down, he wouldn’t hold it against her, he was enjoying just being here with her after all, but goodness he wanted to get her home, into his bed, to continue feeling her hands explore him and to do some exploring of his own. He could already imagine how her delicate little body would feel under his.

Her breath was caught in her throat, her heart racing when he broke the kiss, and her eyelids slowly rose so her eyes could meet his. "I would," she breathed, her body and mind in sync in a way it had never been before, even before her marriage with Desmond. Of course, that was probably because her mind wasn't her own with the drugs coursing through her. There was no anxiety plaguing her, preventing her from embracing the attraction, the arousal.

"Yours?" she suggested, some subconscious part of her still aware that taking a man back to Flynn's house just wasn't in the cards.

Casper grinned, all brightness and giddiness, and then nodded. “If you’d like,” he said, making sure the ball was entirely in her court. Then he began to lead her off the floor and back to their little table, assuming she’d want to say goodbye to her cousin. He held her hand the whole way, unable to stop himself. Now that he knew he could - at least for now - he didn’t want to stop touching her at all, in whatever little way he could.

"I would very much like," she retorted flirtatiously, squeezing his hand as he started leading her back through the crowd. Clary was nowhere to be found, not that it registered in her mind as odd. She leaned into him, her lips brushing over his jaw as she wondered why he hadn't taken her home and ravished her yet. "I'm pretty sure we can apparate directly from here," she prompted him, her hands sliding down his chest, her fingertips lingering at the top of his trousers.

The brilliant grin hadn’t left his face as she had looked around briefly for Clary, and so he looked down at her and at her wandering hands before nodding. “I believe you’re right,” he said with a little puff of a chuckle. His eyes were shining with excitement as he wrapped his arms around her again and whispered lightly in her ear, “Close your eyes,” before centering himself for a second and then apparating them with a pop to his flat.

He set her down in his lounge gently, mostly releasing her from his hold but still keeping his arms around her, and kissed down her neck lightly. He couldn’t stop smiling.

“You are so unbelievably beautiful,” he murmured into her skin as his kisses became more heated right where they stood.

Fiona did as she was told, closing her eyes and clearing her mind enough to not interfere with the magic. It wasn't easy, as all she could think about was getting her hands on his skin, of feeling his warmth under her lips. She didn't even take the time to take in his flat, though if she'd been sober, she'd have enjoyed getting to know him through his space.

"So are you," she murmured back, her head tilting to welcome his lips on her neck. She didn't even register that beautiful might not be the best word to describe him, but he truly was. On impulse, her hands came up to her hair, gathering it up as she turned in his embrace, exposing the zipper of her dress to him.

Casper couldn’t believe his luck - she was so enthusiastic, so delightfully direct about what she wanted. He actually wouldn’t have guessed it of her, from what he knew of her, but he certainly wasn’t disappointed. His hands came to her zipper, brushing up her body to the toggle before smoothly pulling it down, exposing more of her to him. He watched in awe, as if he were outside of his own body. He was bowled away by her.

Shaking his head, he disagreed, “Fairly sure you are the beauty in this room. Your skin is so perfect,” he said as his hands came up brush the shoulders of her dress, bringing the fabric down her arm, slowly so as to savour the moment (and to give her the chance to stop him - they still simply stood in his lounge, of course). His lips returned to her neck, unable to stop himself, enjoying the newly exposed skin.

The compliment had goosebumps rising up all over her skin. "Show me," she breathed, looking at him over her shoulder. If he thought her skin perfect, it made complete sense to her that he ought to explore every inch of it. She shimmied a bit to let her dress fall the rest of the way down, leaving her in only her knickers and heels.

Oh, her voice in that breathless tone. His pants had been growing more and more uncomfortable but that did him in. He would, he would definitely show her.

He stepped back for a moment to breathe and just take her in - kilometres of perfect, milky skin, just the right curves and corners and softness and it was all in such a delicate seeming package. And yet - she wasn’t delicate at all, here she was, standing before him in just her knickers and (entirely too hot) heels and without an ounce of insecurity or doubt. She was more than beautiful, she was glorious.

And then he realized he’d said that last word out loud on a breath. He stepped into her space again and took her into his arms, sweeping her easily off her feet and he headed immediately for his bedroom. Fiona was a special woman, he knew that, and she was not someone you simply took in the lounge.

He lay her softly on the bed and stood back long enough to shed his own clothes, and then he was on her, kissing down her neck to her collar bone, taking his time, nipping and lightly sucking as he went, getting more and more desperate as he went.

Fiona squeaked on a laugh when he swept her up, her stomach still fluttering from the awe in his voice mere moments before. Her arms went around his shoulders, holding onto him as he carried her to his bedroom. Her body moved with his, her back arching as his mouth traveled downward, and her hands were far from idle.

"I want to see you, to feel you," she told him, able to communicate her desires of the moment in a way entirely unlike her. The euphoria coursing through her made it impossible for her to even realize she wasn't being herself.

He mumbled a spell to turn on his bedside lamp, illuminating them so that they could fully see each other and appreciate the moment. He pulled back from kissing her to look down at her body, his eyes taking their time. And then his hands trailed down her legs lightly brushing her skin, ending at her heels, which he slipped off and set on the floor next to the bed, moving in to kiss up her calves and brush lighthearted kisses to her knees as he moved up her body. He kissed his way up her thighs and his hands reached for her panties, stopping to look up at her with a look that clearly asked permission to slip them off.

Although she appreciated the light, she couldn't help giggling when he kept his focus entirely on her rather than removing his own clothes. She pushed up on her elbows, watching as he took her heels off, nudging his thigh with one bare foot as he started kissing up her own thighs. "Things are a little unbalanced here, aren't they? Take your shirt off," she urged him, even though a part of her was eager to lift her hips so he could tug her knickers off.

He gave her a beaming grin, his face showing nothing but appreciation for her telling him what to do. He stood and did as he was told. Casper liked that and had usually been with partners who were more dominant. He hadn’t assumed that of her, but oh gods the things it did to him to find out.

He took his shirt off and toyed with his belt, raising his eyebrows at her as if to ask if his trousers were next.

Her eyes tracked his movement eagerly, taking in every inch of chest exposed to her with a hunger that managed to surprise her even with the drugs. And when his fingers toyed with the front of his belt, her tongue flicked out to wet her lips, her eyes focusing on the outline of his arousal before traveling back up to meet his gaze.

"Oh yes, those next," she directed him. And while she watched him, she planted her feet flat on his bed, lifting her hips as her thumbs snagged the band of her knickers, tugging the fabric down and off before tossing them haphazardly away.

As he pulled his belt out and then undid his pants, his eyes grew wide at her movements. She was suddenly bare before him, and he salivated at the sight, licking his lips with a small, quiet little moan of need coming from his throat.

He finished undressing quickly, too eager, nearly tripping over his pants as he pulled them off his feet and made his way in two quick strides back to her. He took her hands in his and kissed them worshipfully, trying to keep himself from making such a pathetic little whimper again.

It would seem that she was stronger than her small frame would imply. Either that, or he enjoyed being pushed around to a degree, as with the way he leaned over her, holding her hands, all she could think about was how badly she wanted to ride his face. It was something she'd never done before, something she never would have considered doing before, but it was the most delectable thought she'd ever had, and it wouldn't leave her. And so, she gave him a shove, rolling them both and straddling him briefly while her lips caught his in a searing kiss.

"I want to ride your face," she told him bluntly, eagerly, when she broke the kiss. Without hesitation, she climbed up his body, settling her knees on either side of his head, one hand lowering to thread fingers through his curls while the other gripped his headboard.

He let her push him over and his blood positively sang with a rush of arousal when she did. And then she told him that and he sighed, a whimper of want escaping him whether he wanted it to or not. He nodded, the desperation for her to do that obvious in his pleading eyes. Once she had settled, his hands came up to curl around her thighs and he kissed the tops of them before licking a long stripe up her core, positively desperate to give her what she’d said she wanted. He was entirely at her mercy.

Even if she'd wanted to put any mental energy into it, Fiona wouldn't have been able to remember the last time she'd done anything like this. There truly was nothing in her memory to compare it to which, paired with the Diamond Dust, made it very easy to lose herself in the moment, the feel of his mouth on her. True to her word, she moved over him, her hips rocking back and forth, pushing down against his mouth in moments. Her fingers squeezed in his hair as the orgasm built, and when she came, it was as though fireworks exploded, her body vibrating with it, a long moan falling from her lips.

"Oh gods, wow," she breathed as she swung one leg over, rolling off his face, her limbs still tingling with her release. She was nowhere near done with him, though, and without giving either of them much of a chance to catch their breath, she settled on her side, facing him, one hand reaching out to curl around his silky length, stroking him. "You're incredible," she said, still riding all of the highs.

Casper had gotten his own high from making her orgasm and when she complimented him he couldn’t help but blush. “Thank you,” were the only words that felt right coming out of his mouth. He had pleased her, and that was the most incredible feeling in the world. As she touched, he did his best to take measured breaths, wanting tonight to last as long as possible.

“Please tell me there’s more I can do for you. Anything. There’s nothing like the feeling of pleasing you,” he said sincerely - he needed it, and her praise for it, like he needed air.

Gods, he’d missed this. It had been too long. His breath stuttered as her hand moved. “Your hands are everything,” he sputtered out, doing his best to keep eye contact with her, but he was losing the control to so he moved in his place to kiss her collarbone while she still stroked him.

Even though a part of her had already clued into the idea that he enjoyed being bossed around, she still felt a thrill at him stating it nearly outright. Had she ever been treated like this in bed before? She didn't think so, but in that moment, she couldn't think of a better way to be treated. Of course she deserved someone to want to go out of their way to pleasure her! There'd been far too much denial in her life, and just then, she wanted to soak up every ounce of it.

"If you like my hands, just wait until my mouth is on you." Her hand paused at the head of his cock, her thumb swiping over the tip to spread the bead of moisture there. "Just for a taste… I don't think I'm done riding you tonight." The words were awfully vulgar, and yet saying them out loud only served to arouse her further. And with the words hanging in the air between them, she couldn't resist moving over his body, shimmying down so that she was nestled between his legs, lowering her mouth over him, desperate for that taste.

He whimpered again at her words, the thought of her mouth on him - of him deserving her mouth on him! - had him dizzy again. He nodded. “Please,” the word came out strained and needy. He licked his lips when she tasted him off her finger. This witch might be the death of him, he decided. Death and heaven all in one.

Casper called out her name when her mouth descended on him, his hands jumping to her hair to gently stroke it, his fingers playing in the soft strands.

Somewhere deep below the euphoria, the excitement, a part of Fiona panicked at his hand in her hair while her mouth was on him, but that part of her was thoroughly muffled by the drugs still coursing through her. His silky length filled her mouth as she slowly took him in deeper, letting her tongue and lips explore every inch of him.

She didn't want him to come yet, though, and so it wasn't long before her mouth slid back off him with a soft pop. She stroked him a few more times before climbing back over him, holding him firmly as she positioned herself above him. And as she sank onto his cock, she moaned again, both her hands moving to press against his chest. It was heady, taking what she wanted from him with no inhibitions, and she reveled in it for a long moment before she started moving her body over him.

Casper sighed and then took a deep gulp of breath when she moved her mouth off of him, he’d been close - embarrassingly so - and so it had been a bit of relief. He definitely wanted to feel himself inside of her if she let him, and so didn’t want to come just yet.

And then she lowered herself onto his length and he moaned along with her. “Fuck, Fiona,” he puffed out, as she started to ride him. She was a goddess, and he told her as much, told her to use him for her pleasure, to take what she wanted from him.

“Please,” he begged again, urging her on, his hips moving, thrusting up to meet her as she moved up and down his cock. His hands had settled lightly on her hips, but she was still entirely in control.

Had she ever felt so empowered in her life? Fiona didn't think so. She felt strong and sexy and powerful, lost in the moment. She took what she wanted, knowing somehow that she was giving him what he wanted in the process. And when her second orgasm crashed through her without warning, she keened, pressing hard down against him as her walls pulsed around him. It still wasn't enough. She needed more like she needed her next breath.

A sense of desperation fueled her movements then, her short, perfectly groomed nails biting into his chest as she rocked a little less rhythmically over him. Words escaped her, only breathy little moans slipping from her lips as her eyes locked on his, connecting with him in a way she wouldn't have thought herself capable of.

Watching Fiona orgasm was like a drug, he wanted more, he wanted nothing else. She was ethereal and powerful and it had a hold on him that felt desperate and like waves crashing over him again and again, stealing his breath.

“Fuck you’re so beautiful, and even more gorgeous when you’re coming on my dick,” he grit out, doing his best not to lose his very tenuous control. He still didn’t want to come, didn’t want it to end, not yet.

When her nails bit into his skin like that he moaned, loud and long, his neighbors be damned. And then she was riding him again, more frantic, grasping for her next crash, and he whined, “Yes, Fiona, please, take what you need, I know you need more,” he encouraged her, his eyes not leaving her intense gaze.

His words were an aphrodisiac, though she was certain that if she got any more aroused than she already was, she might actually combust. Her body was on fire, the energy vibrating between them in a way that was utterly palpable to her. She took and kept taking, and this time, when the orgasm crested, her body locked up, a flood seeming to erupt from her, coating them both in a warm fluid. It was a sensation she was utterly unfamiliar with, the orgasm that put all others to shame.

Shivers crashed over her in waves as she came down from the orgasm, her body collapsing over his, her face pressing against the crook of his neck. She had to remind herself to breathe, though it felt overrated at the moment.

"Oh my god, Casper. Wow," she breathed, her lips brushing against his clavicle as she spoke. Had he come? She was too boneless, too sated to try to figure it out.

Just the sight of Fiona coming completely apart like that had been the last straw for Casper’s rapidly declining self-control. He had come with her, shouting her name though he was sure she hadn’t even noticed.

As she lay on him now, sighing his name like she did, he felt a small, content smile come to his face. He brought a hand up to lightly stroke her hair. He certainly hoped that meant he’d been good for her - satisfied her, been a good boy in her books.

“It was my pleasure,” he answered, lightly, happily, entirely sincerely, and breathed in measured, full breaths, delighting in the feel of her body weighing his down.

Despite her loose-limbed state, Fiona wasn't anywhere near tired yet, and as she came back down from the high, she realized just how hungry she was. She kissed a slow, languorous path up his neck before pressing her lips against his. "I don't know about you," she said softly between kisses, "but I am ravenous." And she was starting to imagine how amazing a shower with him could be.

His eyebrows quirked quickly at her not again but he didn't want to make her feel she needed to explain anything, so he smoothed his features and shook his head. "Okay, no hospitals, it's okay." His voice was soothing, a calm tone he'd learned as a kid when he'd needed to use it to get his way.

"It's okay, I'm just, I'm so sorry. Is there anything you need? Anything I can do?" Maybe she wanted to never think about this again, never see him again, because surely he'd be a reminder, wouldn't he? And god, that still didn't deal with the worry in the pit of his stomach that he'd crossed some horrible line with her last night.

She was breathing now, at least, and she let out a long sigh when he agreed, relieved that she wouldn't be forced to a hospital, to put an official report in with the DMLE. But that didn't bring her any closer to figuring out where to go from here. The memories from the night before were so clear, so vibrant, the chemistry behind them undeniable. But had it been genuine or just a result of whatever she'd been drugged with?

"You weren't drunk last night," she said softly, an observation, not a question. "Had you... thought of me that way before last night?" She wanted to be held, more than she could say, but she didn't know how to ask for it despite him giving her the perfect opportunity.

Shaking his head at her words, he said, "No, I wasn't. And..." He reached behind himself to self-consciously scratch at the nape of his neck. "Is it awful if I say I had? I mean, it was great running into you at the office and you're... Well, you're an undeniably beautiful witch, and kind and brilliant..." He blushed furiously. "I never would have been inappropriate, though, I swear it." Had it not seemed like she'd been interested in him, too, at the club... He sat on the edge of the bed, still not wanting to encroach on her space if she preferred it that way, but closer.

"Cas," she began in a rather pointed tone of voice. "You don't have to defend yourself. You've been nothing but professional around the office," she reassured him. "Last night was... incredibly unique, and it's not as though I didn't instigate anything. I believe that you didn't spike my drink, and I don't doubt you wouldn't have touched me at all if you'd know it had been spiked. Trust doesn't come easy to me these days, but I do trust you."

Her cheeks flushed a pretty pink, her chin dipping a bit so that she was peeking at him through her eyelashes. She wanted to tell him that she'd been attracted to him before last night, too, but she couldn't seem to get the words out. She wasn't shying away from him, though, and wasn't anxious about his proximity, which felt significant to her.

Casper nodded. "I hope you understand if I can't help but feel a bit of guilt? It's very possible - most probable even - that you wouldn't have... 'instigated' anything had you not been under the influence and that is... not okay." He didn't want her to think he was happy she'd been drugged, even if he had wanted something to happen between them. But not under these circumstances. Never under these circumstances.

"Thank you, though, for your trust." He was entirely sincere, and his voice carried the gravity of that feeling.

He moved just a bit closer to her on the bed, still giving her the space he was sure she must want, but close enough to be slightly more comforting. "Is there anything I can do for you?" His voice was small, pleading in a way, that desperate need to please still oddly there, though for entirely different reasons.

Fiona surprised herself by the soft laugh that tickled up her throat. "Oh, it's more than probable. I absolutely wouldn't have instigated anything, and I know it's not okay, but if you're not the one who drugged me, then it's not your fault. And maybe there's still a bit of it in my system, considering how strangely calm I am right now, but the whole thing is just so very clear to me. I've been… victimized before, by my ex-husband," she admitted, proud of herself for only slightly stumbling over the words. "But I don't feel victimized right now. Not in that way."

Whether the drugs were still in her system or not, a feeling of empowerment was beginning to wash over her. The memories of the previous night were her, theirs, and whoever had drugged her couldn't take that away. They'd had sex. Incredible sex. Enthusiastic, passionate sex. And a part of her hadn't believed she could ever have sex like that again. In drugging her, whoever had done it, while perhaps intending to victimize her, had inadvertently opened the door for her to recover a part of herself she'd believed was gone forever.

"Will you hold me?" she asked softly, drawing strength from that sudden burst of empowerment.

He couldn't help the way he nodded so enthusiastically at her request - hold her he could do. And she wanted him to! He could have soared on the feeling of being needed, even if it had come at a terrible time.

He moved to just behind where she sat on the bed and settled in with his arms around her, his legs spreading to give her space between his thighs. "Is this okay?" he asked, his voice low and his mouth close to her hair - but not touching her, just in case. She had asked him to hold her, but that didn't have to include intimacies like speaking low into her ear or breathing in the smell of her hair. That was up to her.

Despite having asked him to hold her, she hadn't really expected him to settle behind her the way he did. But as he asked that, she nodded and leaned back against him, angling herself just enough so she could comfortably rest her head against his chest. It was intimate in its own way, in another way she hadn't been sure she would ever be comfortable with again, but after last night, those memories still so fresh in her mind, she felt incredibly comfortable and safe.

"I've always thought you incredibly attractive, you know," she pointed out in a small though not quite timid voice. "Your dimples are ridiculously attractive," she added, turning her head just enough to peek up at him.

His dimples... she had mentioned them more than once last night, though he doubted their conversations from last night now, it was a comfort, in a way, that she mentioned them again. "I'm ridiculously grateful for my dimples, in that case," he replied, and it was true - he liked that she found him attractive. Last night, he'd hoped they could do this again, despite being colleagues, but this all had thrown a whole new issue into the possibility of that. He still wanted it, but of course would understand if she didn't.

His voice was still low, and he asked, "How are you feeling?" He didn't mention what she'd said about her ex - ex-husband at that, he hadn't even known she'd married - but he did file the information away for later. Maybe, if she did want to see him again, or maybe even be friends, they could talk about that when she felt comfortable. He wanted her to be feeling comfortable, in this moment, but he also knew that might not be possible. His arms were settled solidly around her, though not so tight that she couldn't move or move him off of her, and the warmth of her tiny body so close to his made an entirely different kind of warmth bloom in his chest. He liked her, and part of him dreaded that, but the eternal optimist in him hoped that this awful instance wouldn't defy what they... well, what they maybe could be.

She remembered kissing his dimple that first time on the dancefloor last night, but even though the visual was strong in her mind, she couldn't bring herself to do it again now.

"Strangely relaxed," she answered, shifting her arms to rest on top of his, her fingertips trailing lightly over his skin. He was warm and solid behind her, and with the memories of the previous night still circling in her mind, she felt safe and so very alive She kept waiting for the anger and pain and fear to set in, but they weren't, and so she continued to embrace the calm. Not that she was any closer to figuring out where they would go from here, but she supposed she didn't have to know just yet.

"You?" she asked, turning the question back to him.

Her heart and stomach both fluttered at his words, and she turned her head again, looking up at him with pink cheeks and soft eyes. "Yeah? Me too," she breathed. Of all the men who could have taken her home last night in the state she'd been in, she felt incredibly lucky that it had been him. Her chin tipped up a little further, a silent, subtle invitation.

Her blush was so lovely, even under these circumstances he couldn't help but think so. When she tipped her chin up at him like that, he hoped he wasn't reading the situation wrong, but leaned forward lightly and gently kissed her. It wasn't a long kiss, as he pulled back, giving her the opportunity to tell him she wasn't interested. He wouldn't blame her, in such a case, he couldn't imagine what she must be feeling right now. But she'd said she trusted him, and he intended to make sure she didn't regret it.

When he'd straightened up from the light kiss, he said, "I hope that's okay..." and waited on baited breath for her response.

As his lips pressed against hers, Fiona waited for the panic to creep back in, but it didn't. Her lips brushed back against his, and she smiled softly at him when he pulled back. "Definitely okay," she reassured him on a whisper. She couldn't be completely confident what her feelings for him were, but she wanted to embrace the calm, peaceful affection he was offering while she could.

"I'm not really sure where we go from here, but I don't think I'm disappointed that last night happened," she told him, her voice thoughtful, speculative. Her calmness unnerved her a bit, but it was also incredibly comforting to not be wound up with anxiety, and so she was fully embracing the feeling.

He didn't know it, but he held his breath when she mentioned 'where we go from here' but when she finished, he exhaled gently and felt the rush one feels when they finally receive oxygen again. He nodded. "I understand, and while I wish it had been under different circumstances, I'm glad you were here, too." The thought of what might have happened to her had she not gone home with him, had they not run into each other at all, slammed into him. He kept his panic and spiraling thoughts to himself, though, his face keeping a calm, pleasant look, and his body staying relaxed with her in his arms. He didn't want to worry her, and the worst hadn't happened, so all the overthinking was for naught.

"Well, I do have one idea about where to go from here... Can I make you breakfast? Breakfast in bed so you can rest more?" He didn't even know if she was a breakfast eater, but he wanted to continue comforting her, wanted to give to her in that way. In any way. "And if not breakfast, we could just relax here, maybe watch movies, nap, I could hold you more..." He really did like holding her. If she wanted to leave to go about her day, though, he'd have to just let the moment pass, as much as he wanted it to continue.

Fiona resisted the urge to point out that 'under different circumstances' would have likely meant a very long time from now and still come nowhere near matching the passion and intensity they'd shared the night before. She worried that he was expecting the confident, take-charge woman he'd been with last night, but that just wasn't her. Even though the memory of it was quite thrilling, she didn't know how to be that person.

"Breakfast sounds lovely. Maybe you've got a pair of sweats or something I can borrow?" she asked. It would be silly to pop home for clothes if she was going to stay for breakfast, wouldn't it? The soft cotton shirt she'd borrowed last night was quite comfortable, after all. "And I don't think I need more rest. I actually feel more rested than I have in a very long time," she admitted. Sleep hadn't been the most peaceful in recent years, but she'd made a lot of progress last year. Last night, though? Last night was the best night's sleep she could remember ever having. "I can help you in the kitchen?" she offered.

Casper nodded at her request for bottoms and pulled himself away from her warmth as much as he hated it. He went to his walk-in closet and came back with a folded pair of cotton pajama pants. "They'll be big, but they have a tie at the waist." It was the best he could think of, he certainly didn't have any women's clothes lying around.

He gave them to her and then went back to grab himself a pair to wear with his own cotton tee, and threw them on before inviting her to the kitchen. "Are you a sweet breakfast person or savory?" He had been reaching for the tea kettle and coffee maker in the top of the cabinet, his tee riding up at his midsection and showing off skin between his low-hanging flannel pants and the hem of the undershirt.

"Thank you," she said, taking the pajama pants from him. When he went back into the closet, she pushed the covers away and slid the pants on. She was just pulling the drawstring tighter as he came back into the bedroom. The pants were a bit loose, but with the tie pulled, she didn't think they would fall off her hips entirely. His shirt was quite long on her, anyway, so she didn't feel particularly exposed. Which would have been silly anyway, considering what they'd shared the night before.

Fiona followed him to the kitchen, turning to lean against the island for a moment before bringing her hands up behind her to push herself up and sit on the counter. It was a sign of how comfortable she was with him, and it was something she hadn't done with anyone outside her family in years. "Hmm, a bit of both, I think? What do you usually like for breakfast?" She usually kept her breakfast fairly simple, but it felt like a good morning for indulging.

He hemmed and hawed for a moment. "I'm honestly a coffee or tea out the door sort, most of the time, but I can cook. And I happen to make pretty good pancakes. Trust me?" he asked, feeling a bit more himself, and maybe even a little flirty. When she agreed to pancakes he couldn't help it, he moved toward where she sat on the counter and she was so damned cute. She looked so good like that - perched easily on his kitchen counter, in his shirt... his face turned a little more somber and his breathing turned a little shallow. "May I kiss you, Fiona?" he asked. Something he should have asked last night. Had he? He couldn't remember in the mess of amazing sensations and moments they'd shared the night before.

"Mmm, pancakes sound delicious," she said agreeably. It was a heavier dish than she typically had, but she was willing to keep trusting him.

Her knees parted automatically when he got close to her, and she leaned toward him, her hands still pressed against the counter on either side of her. Her lips pressed together as she held back a smile. "You may," she answered, the whispered words carrying between them easily in the still quiet of the room.

Casper smiled an easy grin when she agreed, and he leaned in the last bit to capture her lips. This wasn't the soft, gentle kiss he'd given when he was holding her, but he was still tentative to make sure she was comfortable. His hand came up to her jawline, cupping her face, his fingers tangling lightly in the hair at the nape of her neck. He sucked on her lower lip lightly, requesting the chance to deepen the kiss. A small whimper escaped him, from his throat, as he did so. She was so lovely, and he wanted to keep kissing her, and he didn't know what that meant just yet, but he was going with the feeling as long as she allowed it. For this morning at least.

Warmth spread slowly from her lips when his pressed against hers, and she leaned a bit more into him as she returned the kiss. One hand came up tentatively, fingertips ghosting over his upper arm. The sound that slipped into their kiss shot straight to her core, and she hummed back in response to it.

She couldn't remember the last time she'd been snogged like this, and it thrilled her, making her head dizzy with foggy warmth. Her hand pressed more firmly against him, stroking up his arm to cup around the back of his neck, her mouth opening to his. She didn't think she was drugged still, and yet kissing him wasn't making her panic. She didn't know how that was possible, but she was determined to enjoy it while she could.

When she reached for him, he brought his free hand around her waist and pulled her closer to him, her legs already open to accommodate his hips and the smooth surface of his kitchen island giving no resistance.

She hummed and he felt dizzy, wanting to make her make more noises. He broke the kiss just to move his mouth down her jaw and to the skin at her neck and collar bone, showing thanks to the oversize collar of his v-neck she was wearing. He was grateful it was too big for her. "You are so beautiful, Fiona," he mumbled into her skin. "Your skin is so soft and perfect." He lifted his head and looked into her eyes. "I don't know if it's okay to say this, but I feel like I still can't get enough." His voice was soft but insistent, and he pushed down another desperate whine that was threatening to break through his lips.

As he tugged her forward, her knees lifted, her feet hooking around him automatically. The anxiety of being with anyone like this again was overpowered by the memories they'd made last night, and she lost herself in him, in his kiss, in the way his touch caused goosebumps to rise up all over her arms and legs.

She was breathless as he broke the kiss, but the way his lips moved over her neck and the words he spoke against her skin seemed to steal even more of the oxygen from her. There was something exciting and comforting about the way he almost seemed to worship her body, and yet it was overwhelming at the same time. Did she think she could sleep with him again? Completely sober, as she was?

"You're allowed to feel what you feel," she told him, sliding her hand from the back of his neck to cup his jaw, her thumb stroking lightly over that wonderfully damned dimple. "I don't know if I'm comfortable with more than this right now, but I promise to communicate it to you if anything gets to be too much," she assured him. Learning how to communicate again, how to set boundaries and stick to them, had been a large part of her recovery since leaving Desmond, and it seemed as though the lessons had penetrated after all.

He lifted his head to look her in the eye. "And I promise to listen fully and never cross your boundaries." His tone was nearly grave in its sincerity. But he also really didn't want to stop kissing her, so he leaned forward again and brushed his lips up her jaw. Between kisses, he said, "And if this is what you're comfortable with right now, then this is what we'll do. I do adore kissing you." He could think of hundreds of other things he'd enjoy doing with her, to her, but kissing her was its own sort of delight. And delight in it, he would.
