Amnesty fics |
[Jun. 20th, 2008|02:47 pm] |
The amenesty fics are up! I ended up having only three, but I'm still glad I did this... I do not believe it's possible to have too much love to show the artists of the fandom, or too much fic, either!
These stories were not posted anonymously, and I ask only that the authors wait five days to post them in their own journals or on another site.
The complete list of fics and banners is here, and the new fics are:
1. California Dreaming by cindybaby, inspired by lego_4_ever's graphic, number 5.
2. Travelin' Man by fansee, inspired by not_yet_defined's graphic, number 3.
3. Another Chapter by xie_xie_xie, also inspired by not_yet_defined's graphic, number 3.
I am going to update each fic with its author and banner creator by the end of the weekend... and thanks once more to everyone who participated, created, and commented! |

Challenge Amnesty Update |
[Jun. 13th, 2008|05:27 pm] |
I'm really sorry and ashamed, but I seem to have gotten very confused. I thought the date I had set for the Challenge Amnesty was the 16th, and yet, I seem to have posted, at least in some places, that it was today, the 13th.
Now, I have received only one amnesty fic so far, and only one person dropped out. So I'm guessing this is my problem and that I wasn't clear about the date, so I'm going to really ruin my reputation as a responsible adult fangirl and say WTF, I'm giving us all one more week, so we can make it work!
I'm really sorry, and I promise to be more organized from now on. Er.... will it help you forgive me if I tell you my amnesty fic is 90 percent porn?

Challenge Amnesty! |
[May. 26th, 2008|08:50 am] |
Hello everyone!
I'm still feeling all after-glowy about the "Challenge in Two Parts" ... the artists and authors of the QAF fandom are completely brilliant, and so are the readers, because you all gave your heart and soul to make the artists and authors know they are loved. THANK YOU, EVERYONE!
I heard from several authors who were working on fics for the challenge but were unable to meet the deadline. I also have one more story I wasn't able to get finished.
Normally, when people miss a deadline, we just post our stories at a later date to our own journals. But because I'd really like to ensure that the artists see just how powerfully they inspired us, and also put links to all the fics in one place for future reference, I made the decision (after polling the fandom, readers, authors, and artists alike) to have a short amnesty period for unfinished fics.
If you want to submit an additional story to the "Challenge in Two Parts," please do so prior to June 13 20 at noon Pacific Time (California time). You can email them to me at xie.kay@gmail.com. I am not going to post them anonymously, but I will ask you not to cross post them elsewhere for a period of five days (June 25).
The header information is here. The details of the challenge are here. The complete list of artworks is here. Please post here if you have questions or comments!
I look forward to the amnesty fics, and thank you to those who suggested it and those who voted in the poll!

Challenge in Two Parts: The Reveal, no images |
[May. 22nd, 2008|09:39 am] |
This is the text-only version of the author and artist reveal for the "Challenge in Two Parts." To view this post with the images, please go here instead.
It's time for the big reveal of authors and artists for the submissions to the "Challenge in Two Parts" -- all FORTY-ONE FORTY-FOUR stories and TWENTY-FOUR works of art!
This has been the most incredible challenge I've ever participated in, and I can't thank the artists, authors, and betas enough. There are a few of you who went above and beyond in making sure this challenge was a success; you know who you are, and you have my undying gratitude!
Special thanks to vamphile for compiling a database to keep everything straight, and to _alicesprings for making her community available for this challenge.
Authors and artists can now cross-post and pimp their work, and can also respond to comments. Please, if you cross post, provide a link back to this post so everyone can get some love!

Challenge in Two Parts -- Stories Posted! |
[May. 17th, 2008|03:57 am] |
ETA: The reveal of authors and artists is here, with images, and here, without images.
Well, it was a true marathon of posting... five and a half straight hours of it. But all 41 stories written for the artwork created in the first phase of the "Challenge in Two Parts" are now posted.
And thanks to the amazing authors of this fandom, we have at least one, and often more than one, story for every single banner submitted. I pretty much can't believe it.
I'm going to be honest, given that it's almost 4 in the morning, it's entirely possible that I made a mistake somewhere. If I failed to post your story, or got the banner image wrong, or did something else amazingly stupid, please do two things:
1. Tell me, so I can fix it in the morning.
2. Forgive me.
I was going to actually embed the banners themselves into the master list, but I realized that would be unbelievably huge for anyone on dial-up or using an older computer. So instead, I'll simply link to the stories, grouped by banner number.
The master list of banners and artists is here.
All authors and artists will be revealed on Thursday. Until then, we ask that they not claim their work, reply to comments on it, or cross-post it.
Thank you to everyone who participated: artists, authors, and betas. Thanks also to _alicesprings for allowing me to host this challenge in her community, and for all her help.
I'd also like to thank vamphile for compiling all the stories and banners into a database and then patiently explaining to me how to read the database and then realizing I can't read a database and just telling me what I needed to know.
