But he never showed up. In fact, his entire fleet was decimated and the Infinity Stones themselves seem to be disappearing from the universe. So, what happened? Two months before the Battle of Wakanda, mysterious portals had begun appearing with strangers (Newcomers) from other timelines and universes coming through. After discovering this, Tony Stark was able to re-route the phenomena to only appear at the Avenger’s Facility, where he and the rest of the Avengers of this world could help the Newcomers adjust and protect them. It was only a matter of time before things started going to hell. Eventually, the Avengers learned about Thanos and the Infinity Stones, but they discovered what happened to his fleet and that the stones were disappearing. Until one day in 3517, a young apprentice mage - hoping to safeguard the future of makind - led as many innocents as she could to a previously undiscovered underground cave and, a year later - in 3518 - attempted to open an outgoing portal to a parallel world, with the intention of bringing them all back when it was safe. But, due to her youthful inexperience, the mage's spell went wrong and, instead of creating a portal, she created several one way time slips, bringing people from different realities and time periods into her world, and trapping the cave and everyone in it - including those who come through the time slips - inside a time bubble that keeps them in 3518, where they have remained and thrived, ageless, for the last century and a half in real time. With Voldemort's disappearance, the Death Eaters retained control of the Ministry, their reign arising from out of the crumbling ashes of the Battle of Hogwarts. The magical world waited with bated breath to see what was to come. The changes, however, started off impossibly small. Bits and pieces, easier to swallow, leaving the masses more complacent in their long term effects. Following a series of muggle attacks on wizarding communities, muggleborns began to lose their rights in the name of magical protection. Falling to the wayside, just as intended, they came to be an unprotected, at-risk population, easy to exploit. Now, fourteen years later, the true hierarchy has emerged based on blood status. Zeus, to the understanding of none, started a fight with the Primordials — known to be stronger and more powerful than even the King of the Gods. For reasons unknown, he ordered all of his people into battle with the ancient ones and the ones who didn't go willingly, he forced. In an explosion and a flash of light that could be seen for days, Zeus was destroyed. However, in the backlash, all of the other gods also disappeared and were sent into a never-ending cycle of death and rebirth. This was not something any of them had expected. Erebus and Nyx did their best to keep everything running, but they were not ones that were happy ruling and overseeing things.
