Wow, I've been gone a bit. Thought I think I might have got myself writing again.

For instance, I have the next part of Gracious almost done. Just need to finish up the last little bit and get it beta'd, and it'll be good to go. Also writing a Mercverse fic. Already 5200 words in on that. Plan on having it all done and beta'd before I start posting it, however.

Anyone remember either of those stories/AUs?

A different kind of comment fic comm ;)

This one's on InsaneJournal, and looks like a lot of fun, with tons of diverse fandoms (WAY more than the comment_fic comm on LJ):

I think I'll try this one out. ^_-

Sometimes my degree is full of awesome

Reading the Thesmophoriazusae, a play by the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes and I'm coming across some very interesting verbs. Like these:

βινεῖσθαι - to get fucked

λαικάζει - he wenches or, as my translation puts it, he sucks cock.

The fact that both verbs are being used in reference to a man only makes it more awesome, if you ask me (I actually get to read this stuff for school!).

Assorted stuff on a lonely Saturday

I noticed a lot of hits on my fics were originating from here, and now it's made its way onto my regular links just because it seems like a great way to discover other Dreamwidth users.

It's also a good way to learn about communities, although sometimes that's just for the laugh factor. For example, this. I don't think there's anything I've ever written that wouldn't show up on that list somewhere (well, maybe those original young adult novels I wrote in my youth. Maybe.)

Okay, I've got to change the channel; the news is on and it's depressing. I try never to watch it.

I miss my wife; she's working all weekend, boo. :( Thank goodness we both have Monday off together. We cut our hair today and it BADLY needed it. I swear when my hair gets too long I start having more headaches.

Getting the new deck didn't solve the leak problem, but I didn't really expect it would. On Monday we'll probably tear out some of the wainscotting on the other side of the basement door where that leak is coming in. I'll bet it's coming up through a crack in the floor, God help us. Oh yes, and our old deck is STILL in the backyard. My wife said it looks like a demolition yard, and she's right. I'll bet the neighbors hate us.

I've been trying to write something for my game and it's going as slow as molasses. Once I get done with it, I'll start a new chapter of Sakura Court; I miss that one, and haven't written a new chapter since March. @_@ I'll have new characters to add to my neighborhood, since I've got a lot more fandoms I've become interested in since then.

Speaking of fandoms, Michiru and I have fallen into the Johnny's trap. XD It started with either KAT-TUN or Nakayama Yuma, and now we're also hunting down Hey Say Jump! stuff. Pretty boys make great fic fodder. Yamada Ryosuke is my favorite in Hey Say - he's as cute as a human hamster (we call him Hamsuke XD). Check out my favorite song of theirs here.

I want to see the next Shinkenger episode so MUCH. Ryunosuke and Chiaki tied together? I mean, HOT DAMN! *ahem* Yes, it should be fun ....

Last week Kamen Rider W wasn't on and that sucks. Want more now.

We're so far behind on Oreten it's not funny. :( I miss my Rei-boy. The problem is that we keep finding older series to watch (currently watching Scrap Teacher) and along with Shinkenger and W it doesn't leave much time (unless we were both able to quit our jobs and do nothing but watch stuff. *dreamy sigh*)

Okay, need to work more on my game post ....

party

I hate housecleaning. *glares balefully at the embarrassing portions of her bedroom*

We're having a party in about ten minutes. We're using the opportunity to wear costumes because we missed trick-or-treating due to 'flu. So Malcolm's a water molecule, Merlin's the Blue Screen of Death (this being a boy who's never used Windows) and Matisse and I are 1950s instructional video characters. Turns out, related to that, that my hair doesn't do pin curls. That's why I'm being the bad example, with wrinkly socks and a stained skirt and a partially-untucked shirt, in contrast to my neat and clean sister. Dad's being Inigo Montoya, and Mum's... Mum. Hopefully pictures will be forthcoming.

Crossposting like woah

So when in Rome and all that.

My friends won't leave LJ to come to the obviously-superior Dreamwidth, so I'll compromise and use Dreamwidth's very-convenient-and-not-available-through-LJ's crossposting feature to put posts on Dreamwidth, InsaneJournal, Inksome, and LJ all at once. I'd rather they came to my Dreamwidth to reply, seeing as both my username and my icons of choice (250 of them) are here, but I know that's unlikely.

It may only be the public posts that go out on LJ. I don't feel comfortable there anymore, so my Friends Only posts may remain on Dreamwidth and InsaneJournal. I'm still deciding.

OH MY GOD, I HAVE FOUND THE BEST PICTURE EVAH!

It's going to be made into my next icon, TRUFAX!

Sorry if I potentially offended anyone with it, but I think it's adorable and I'm all for the over 'hit over the head with the moe=hammer Hitler'. I in no way support what Hitler did, but I would not be Nia without all of the random hitler jokes that I toss at everyone. (Which is probably why I enjoyed "The Producers" so much)

A-AWESOME

IT'S ALREADY OUT. HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS.

On the other hand, I was watching it going 'I really hope Lola gets to do more' and she doesn't even appear once. **sulks**

Aaaagh. *headdesk*

I shorted out the stove today. Spilled a little instant-ramen broth on the controls, and zap! That was all she wrote. Lucky thing I figured out how to unplug the whole shebang, or we'd have a smoking crater for a house right now, and then who'd feed the fish? Still, we are left stove-less until Dad fixes things.

I think the next level of fail is to set something on fire. This is why I really should stay out of the kitchen. -_-

On the subject of Winterthing presents (NOOOOOOOOOOooooo....), I think I'll be giving out skibbles or something this year. I about killed myself crocheting something for everyone last year, and I'm pretty sure everyone's sick of yarnthings anyway. ;P I'd do baked goods, but, well, see above re: kitchen fail.

Librarian Job...GOOOOOO!!!!

On Saturday I start at the downtown library as an official Librarian. It's a second position, so I'm still at the suburban library of West Seneca as a Library Associate. I'm at both places part-time.

I'll be at the Humanities & Social Sciences reference desk (which has been combined with Business, Science, & Technology...so basically all of nonfiction). As far as I know, there's some sort of training checklist/program I have to go through. I heard from my boss today (she took me out to lunch ^^!) that it can be intense because you have to utilize the approved sources. Being that I'm familiar with the library databases, things should go well. Also, it's pretty much going to be strict reference (as compared to smaller branches where you do a bit of everything).

However, I'm a mix of nervous and excited. This is my foot in the door. I make a good impression here and I have the opportunity for more hours, a position with benefits, and security during an unstable budget period. I must do well, I will do well.

I can't wait to hear patron questions!! I learn so much from them!! The urban environment should be interesting as well. There's free parking in downtown Buffalo on weekends, which is a plus for my first day. Though, it will suck when I have to pay for parking on the weekdays, but I'll make back the money.

Cross your fingers for me everyone!! ^___^

I am spoiled

For the latest SPN. I am now barely able to contain myself while I wait for the download to finish downloading (and then I'll have to wait until tonight to watch it; woe!).

I am a bad person in that I want to write PR apocafic so I can title it "The Lone Ranger". I am a worse person in that this idea was originally, "I wish there was an Autobot who transformed into a Ford Ranger, so I could call a fic..."

In spite of all of this, I kind of want to cry. No, there is no particular reason, aside from my brain being a very fucked up place. Work should be all KINDS of fun today. :P
