I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

Who: Kass and Mary
When: 9:00 PM
Where: Circean Delight
Rated: F for Food, lovingly described.

The costume party should have begun seamlessly, at least for the kitchens of the Circean. When she had left at eight o'clock, a bit earlier than usual, everything had been set, prepared and entirely orderly. The hors d'oeuvres had all been perfectly chosen and time, with a strict schedule to ensure that the fare varied as the night went on, each one more delicious than the last. Ranging from obviously high end, top tier cuisine to elegant twists on more down to earth fare, Kass had been particularly proud of what she and the chefs beneath her had decided upon.

Her favorite had been the mini mozzarella and tomato skewers, each exquisitely done. A little piece of olive oil brushed white country bread, carefully toasted, a leaf of fresh basil, half a cherry tomato, a small round of good, fresh mozzarella and another piece of toast. They were beautiful, colorful, and delicious.

The man who was her second in command, her sous chef, preferred the mini baked potatoes with blue cheese. The tiny little potatoes had been dipped in high grade virgin olive oil and coated very lightly with coarse sea salt. Then after they were baked, they had been split partially open and topped with a blue cheese and sour cream mixture. Served hot, they were enough to make any love of food swoon where they stood.

Why are you even near the spatulas?!

Who: Kass and Jude
When: Lunchtime
Where: Circean Delight Kitchens

Despite her quickness to leap upon any mistake, Kass was usually pleased enough to simply nod and let a chef move on by without comment, if she felt they had done well enough. This morning? No, not so much. In a rare mood, even for her, of a dark cloud over her head thanks to subverted plans from the night before, thanks to the blackout, Kass was pretty much hissing and growling at any who dared cross her path. She'd been promised a night with great potential for naughty fun, but had been quite disappointed with the turn out on that particular round of drinks.

Kass never did handle disappointment all that well.

So it was not with any pleased expression that she spotted an intruder in her territory. Instead it was with narrowed blue eyes, glinting like chips of ice, that she began moving towards the blonde man, "What do you think you're doing here?"

Who: Kass and Mack
When: TBA
Where: Kitchens, Circean Delight

The menus of the second night, and day, of course, while not written with quite the same outside pressure for perfection as the first night's feast, were still crafted with Kassandra's dedication and exacting standards. The same exacting standards she held both her staff, and herself to.

Even while she kept an eagle eye on each station's activity, demanding the most from each individual within the kitchen, from the commis to the saucier to her sous chef, she spent the majority of her attention on her craft. On making each dish its own melody of flavors and textures, focusing her attention on the creation aspect, making it the absolute best it could be. As the Head Chef, she would have been well within her rights to simply supervise and create the actual design of the dishes they served without once touching the stove during the dinner rush. It held no appeal, in all honesty, she preferred being quite hands on, although it sucked up the majority of each of her days.

The garde manger, the chef in charge of 'cold food presentation,' as in salads and hors d'ouevres, wasn't paying enough attention for all of one moment, and tripped, dropping a tray of prepared blue cheese, dried cranberry and walnut bedecked salads, unintentionally tossing a wave of green all over the floor nearby.
