Wow. Wow, wow, wow.

I cried like a baby.

The whole discovery process...and Draco, yum...and hot like whoa.

Absolutely pitch-perfect. Congratulations!

Wow.

I don't usually read either of these pairings (I tend to read and write Harry/Ron and Remus/Sirius), but I was very impressed with so much in this fic. There was plot. There was incredibly beautiful writing. And the length of it. I know, size isn't everything, but this is a novel length fic for a GIFT.

I hope your recipient appreciates this fully. I know I would, because the amount of work that's been put into this is incredible.

What a remarkable story. It took me a long time to read - I've stayed up way past my bedtime, but I couldn't stop.

There's so much thought and work gone into this. All the processes Severus went through, that Harry and Draco had to work out. An amazing story indeed.

I wish I could write more, but my brain's a bit frazzled. Thanks for sharing such an interesting story. I know I'll be remembering it for a long while.

I've spent several hours this morning reading your fic. I wish I hadn't had to read it so fast and in such small pieces (crying babies are no good for the concentration).

I really enjoyed your story. You brought Snape to life in an amazing and sympathetic manner. Very enjoyable read.

Thank you.

Beautiful, amazing, and all around wonderful! I love the progression (though I normally don't read Harry/Draco) and all the emotion through out it. Magnificent work!!~Sophia

I had to print this out since it was too long to read at the monitor. I'm only on page 30, but I have to post and say: What a bloody brilliant story!

Will be back when done.

I'm always amazed when people manage to knock out novel-length fics for challenges like this. How lucky is your recipient! It's like someone wrote an eighth book to her specifications. :)

I think that the best thing about this fic is that because it WAS so long and so detailed, the evolution of Harry and Snape's relationship was actually believable. I think that someone could have easily written the basic premise of this fic in 5000 words, but it wouldn't have had any sense of credibility.

Good job!

Oh my. It's gorgeous. celandineb is so lucky to get this story.

It would have been nice if Ron had grown up a little more, but the rest of it.... just lovely. (and the smut is hot, too.)

[I'm going to try to comment so as not to spoil anything major in the story for anyone who might see this before reading the whole thing... some minor detail spoilers, though.]

Oh. My. Word.

I can hardly say how thrilled I was by this story -- what can I ever have done to deserve such a wonderful gift? It's just... wow. *sniffles*

The development of the relationships between Harry and Severus, and between Harry and Draco, was handled so well -- they're in a kind of hothouse situation, spending so much time together, so that although it didn't take all that long in fic-time it was completely plausible (this more applies to the situation with Draco, of course, as being faster).

I adored the H/D part (Draco being very much about the "sex is for fun, emotion is optional" in my usual take on him). Having him become a jazz pianist brought me a big grin, too; you either know me really well or you're a lucky guesser, as I enjoy jazz and used to play piano myself, so that was great fun.

But the H/S just brought tears to my eyes. It starts from small origins, and just grows -- as inexplicable as any love in real life may be, yet as natural. Like Harry, I had my suspicions about why Severus seemed more "real" than any other portrait, but your portrayal of his uncertainties and difficulties in working out the truth had me just as confused as he. That Draco felt like the "right" person to help him work out the solution... well, that came to make more sense in the end, with the surprising revelation of the choice Severus had to make at the last moment.

The last is just one example of the tightness with which you wove together all the details of this marvelous story. And the writing is lovely, just lovely. Again, I'm simply thrilled to have such a gift -- 90,000+ words? *faints* I read through it quickly this time, because I wanted to be able to thank you as soon as I could, but I will be rereading it more than once, I can assure you! {{{enormous hugs}}} and thanks to you, my mystery author! I can't wait to find out who you are!

I've been reading all day, unable to stop. What a fantastic story! I love how you show the difference in Harry's relationship with Draco to his falling in love with Snape. So much fun and so much romance. The moment Harry tells Snape what he wishes for him is breathtakingly beautiful.

I love the way Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forrest feature in your story. Harry saying goodbye at his dormitory window, and he recalling the other times he had to go into the Forbidden Forrest make a great transition from canon. The atmosphere fits 100%.

Thank you for sharing!

Thank you.

I love you! I have been dying for a really obscenely long (this took me all day to read. I didn't want to rush; it was so damn good) Snarry! You even put in a side of Draco.

I can't really even begin to tellyou all the emotions and thinking I had while reading. I can't even remember what I wanted to comment on in different places in the story. The most touching part though was Snape asking to be placed somwhere with a view of a wondow in Harry's room. It struck me as so sad that a simple pleasuer such as looking at the sky might be impossible for a portrait not well placed. That coupled with Snape's obvious intellect even as a picture brought reality of the wizarding world crashing down on me.

I loved all your characters. And I have prattled on long enough. Thank you from the bottom of my cold heart (hey, it's 0 Fahrenheit outside) for a perfectly wonderful day!

I am completely blown away by this story. It is simple one of the most wonderful things I've ever read. This is the Harry I've always imagined post-war, and that you've captured him in a fic that wasn't even for me is amazing. I love Draco (although I am sad he and Harry didn't make it, as much as I love Harry/Severus. I'm hoping he did find someone eventually), Harry writing poetry, Severus' questions, Bat... just everything. I cannot wait to find out who wrote this. I will encourage everyone I know to read this. Well done!

So enjoyable! I've been reading all day, and it's been a lovely journey through the developments of and dynamics between this version of post-war Harry, Severus, and Draco.

Really enjoyed how you set up the Harry/Draco as a counterpoint to the tie between Harry/Snape. The part about Draco containing part of Snape was an intriguing surprise. I thought Harry's hurt and shocked reaction to the way Draco had been put at risk -- as well his rush of emotion in response to the attendant and inevitable shift in actual relationships, as the just-sex weekends with Draco were poised to give way to the rest-of-their-lifetimes with Severus -- was realistically and poignantly portrayed.

I think I'll really enjoy re-reading, knowing now how often Severus placed hints and clues before Harry and Draco, leading them to the conclusion he wanted, all the while the two of them thought they were being sly and discovering Snape's guarded secrets.

And now I will end the day thinking of Severus and Harry in their house by the sea in Wales, living their wonderful quiet life, filled with evenings of reading and sex and sex and reading... :D

Oooh, I really, really enjoyed reading this. It's soooo long, but oh so good. This story totally sucked me in and refused to let me out. It's not just smutty, but plotty - a great combination!

Post-war!Harry, Snape and Draco was wonderfully written. Loved the gradual progress of Snape and Harry's relationship - it was very believable. And all the kinky sex that H/D were having was... brain-meltingly hot. :D

The storyline was excellent. Love the twists and there were a few of bits that I didn't expect at all - I thought that Draco was a Snape!Horcrux, turns out I was close, but not quite.

Great job! I'm glad I took the time to read this.

I've been reading this, with many interruptions, for the last...oh, 16 hours, and now I am yawning and blinky. Heh.

Good lord. For one thing ...90,000 words? Seriously? Seriously?. And. I mean. 90,000 words that I kept reading. I am pleased with myself for (er. I dunwanna spoiler other people before they have a chance to read, so whiteout it is...) *being sure when Draco initially mentioned that he'd been there unconscious, that it was relevant, but I didn't figure out really where that was going until late in the game. I was sure there was a Horcrux, and contemplated whether it could be the mostly-blank journal, but decided that was too obvious (and laughed at myself for ever, in any fic with this title, thinking that, but still). I love the little portrait (I mean, I love that it's a physically small portrait that winds up having all this... well, I guess Harry says, power of intimidation and fascination and such).

There was a lot of smut, a lot, but it didn't seem unreasonable that there would be, that they would be such, uh, active boys and all. Also, I liked that Harry wrote in his journal and gave it back, voluntarily, both because it was voluntary balancing out for his own getting into Snape's business, and because I always like when people make adult Harry smart/thoughtful.

Minute nitpick for when you repost this elsewhere: unless I read it wrong, the first time Harry writes in the journal at the window, it says there's no moon, so he calls up a Nox; I think you meant Lumos. ;)
*

Anyway. This was great, and Cel is lucky, lucky, lucky.

That was absolutely fucking incredible. My brain is spinning, trying to figure out who wrote this (although, I admit, I have my suspicions... *wink*) so that I may shamelessly fangirl. The plot was lovely, the dialogue was exquisite, the concepts were skillfully executed, the poetry was stellar, and the pure prose was perfect.

In short, I loved the whole thing. It was everything I'd like to see in a realistically explained way to bring back Severus, as well as a quality post-war characterization of Draco. I loved it all.

*applauds*

A really well written long, plotty character-driven story!

I really enjoyed the twists as Harry and Draco work out Severus' deviousness. I liked how you moved all of their characters through time, allowing growth. This is a Draco I really want to see find happiness. I was happy that Harry and Severus got a happy ending.
