Merry Smutmas, [info]celandineb!

To: [info]celandineb
From: [info]joanwilder

Title: Occam's Razor
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Harry/ Draco, Harry/Severus
Disclaimer: All things Harry Potter belong to J.K.Rowling and her book and film companies.
Summary: Two years after the end of the war, only desperation could make Harry seek out the help of a one-time enemy.
Warnings: Sex toys, rimming, bondage
Author's notes: For [info]celandineb, wrapped up in a pouffy bow: bondage, voyeurism, masturbation, toys, delayed orgasm, rimming, dirty talk, frottage, desperate!sex, shower!sex, spanking (implied), UST and a plot, oh my! Hope this makes your holiday a happy one! Also, a word of gratitude to my beta reader for her sharp eyes and 'devil's advocate' par excellence skills.

A thank you to [info]gmth, whose years of hard work (read: countless hours of matching up participants, cracking the deadline whip, arranging pinch-hitters, smoothing ruffled feathers, recipient of much-deserved praise—and, it must be noted, a few piles of virtual shit—formatting and posting, in addition to—god only knows how she does it—reading every single fic) have enriched us beyond measure. All 'O's, full marks, and an award for 'Special Services' to the fandom for you!

So, I figure that you guessed wrong? I know who you are, only because I sat in on your panel at Prophecy. My Harry/Draco experience extends only to the fics I read as an admin at SH.

I'm so pleased that the story hit your buttons. My first Harry/Draco, and it 'felt' right to me, but it's good to hear it from readers too. I was concerned that it might seem that Draco was 'left' behind, but that wasn't my intention at all; I hoped that it was clear what a pivotal role both Harry and Draco played in each other's lives.

Thanks for sticking through and reading to the end, and I'll certainly make up the guest room for *tinsel-clad Draco and gift-wrapped Harry*--let me know when they're coming, and I'll leave the light on.

Shit, this was the first Harry/Draco you've ever written? My dear, WRITE MORE! It was excellent! Absolutely brilliant, and anyone who knows me knows that I don't give empty compliments. (I'm also a plot-whore, and I love long stories.) And... you were at the panel at Prophecy? SQUEE! *bounces* Did I manage to chat with you at any point during the convention? Are you coming to Terminus?

Yes, you're right, I didn't know who it was. In fact, the person I suspected... when I read the one that she DID write, I knew it was hers, which left me completely at a loss to figure out who wrote this one. But, nonetheless, I must still fangirl.

*fangirls*
And the tinsel-clad!Draco and gift-wrapped!Harry still stand as offerings of fangirly homage. I'll send them over, but I can't promise that they won't stop to shag along the way and get utterly distracted from their mission. If they don't arrive, let me know, and I'll have to tie them up and spank them as punishment. *cackles*

I signed up for hds_beltane, so maybe another Harry/Draco. But I'm a Snarry person at heart... But like Snarry, I found the pairing to have such intriguing possibilities.

No, we didn't talk in Toronto; what a shame--I spent every night in the bar, getting to know teh fen and I can tell we would've hit it off! I'll be driving over to Chicago just for the Snarry meet-up (it's an 8 hour drive, but SO WHAT?!), but at this point not for the whole con. I'm already registered for Sectus 09, and have to save.... Maybe if you crash the Snarry partay????

Listen, there're about four inches of snow on the ground, it's colder than a witch's tit here, so I hope Harry and Draco's parts are well-protected; god forbid they get frostbite--I might have to get Snape to render first-aid! (I would assist, of course.) In the event fail to appear, I'll be certain to let you know, so that proper correction can be applied (and pictorial documentation cc'ed to myself, of course.)

A lot of people who haven't written a given pairing bring a fresh look to it when they do write that pairing. I wrote a Harry/Fred/George with my Harry/Draco for Smutmas last year, and I had a lot of people say they were surprised at how much they liked the H/F/G dynamic in that one. And your take on Harry/Draco in THIS story... was wonderful. Fresh ideas, sharp writing, intriguing plot. You should venture into this ship more often. Or, you could try my OT3... Harry/Snape/Draco, in any dynamic or combination. I seriously love playing with the three of them. Tasty!

I really am a Snarry person, too, but I think it's just that I'm more active with the H/D crowd. I've been reading more Snarry than H/D in the past year or two, actually. I guess I just know more H/D people, so I hang out with them... I dunno. I'd love to crash the Snarry partay, if you'd have me! I'll bring porn!

Four inches of snow on the ground? That's nothing. I'm in New Hampshire. I think we've got two feet, and there's more coming tomorrow night. :D
Where are you located?

Hehe, I'm in Pittsburgh, and hey! I have family in Henniker, and I've been to Center Harbor just to go to Keepsake Quilting and OMG I almost had an orgasm in there, I was so excited! (Have I scared you yet?) But now I know I can't make a whine of protest about our weather....I remember reading that the highest wind speed ever recorded in the continental U.S. was on Mt. Washington. And you have 'feet' of snow? (is face-down on the mat, pinned by [info]mijan)

I have your smutmas fic bookmarked! Isn't that funny how smutmas stretches you as a writer? Last year, I actually wrote a forced bonding fic called "Unnatural Selection" that was Harry/Neville, main pairing Snarry, though, and it had (hard swallow) MPREG, which was a milestone for me, as mocking it has been one of my most serious fandom pasttimes. Hehe.

You are so right. Snape/Harry/Draco sounds yummy. I'm not much of a threesome person, to be honest, although I've read some convincing ones, but this one I could do...maybe. I almost did it in smutmas, but then I couldn't. I'd been waiting to write that Snarry and that was it! But maybe for beltane. I did write a fic for the pimp_my_3some fest that (duh) had a threesome of Snape/Harry/Wilson( from House. M.D.) My problem with the threesome is that I'd have to characterize ad nauseum in order for it to make perfect sense. And brevity, as you've experienced, is not one of my fortés.

I never read fic when I'm writing it, which is almost all the time, but since your fic isn't Snarry, that means I'll be able to read it. H/F/G would be a great dynamic. I think Harry has a lighter side to him that's never been properly exploited (which would be pure joy to watch the twins develop), and I think the twins aren't all pranking and silliness, but have an intuitive feel for when to turn it on and off, if it's someone they care about. Really, I've can't say I've ever read them in a fic where the two of them were combined with a third person in a serious way...except, I translated a French author (Lychee) about a year ago--did all her Snarrys, but she had one fic, Chronicles of a Last Year, that's a Snape/G/F that's well done, has light-hearted bits, but isn't essentially humorous. (I've friended you there, btw, cause I'm locked).

You know, I went to see OotP at the IMAX in Toronto and sat next to [info]geoviki, and we had a great talk. Guess it's only natural to get a bit polarized, but srsly, when the time comes to sign up for the snarry meet-up online, I'll remember and come looking for you. It's great fun and we misbehaved in a major way. :)

If I remember correctly, you and I are about the same height, so be careful in those snow drifts....
