Title: Vehicular Homicide is Only a Misdemeanor but Arson is a Felony (Unexpected Sparks)
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Disclaimer: Not mine. Never will be.
Summary: Starting over doesn't always mean from scratch. Which is probably a good thing when something sinister is lurking around the corner.
Warnings: Epilogue compliant... does that require a warning?
Author's notes: Thanks to my amazing beta who let me bounce ideas off her until I finally settled on something... the very thing she told me I should write in the first place. Go figure. Oh, and I stretched the process in some places here and there to fit the story.

Absolutely delightful! I especially loved the Boston touches - only Draco would drive a Boxter in the winter. *g*

Ditto, particularly the Boston setting (as somebody who lives in the area myself)

Out of curiousity, where do the Potters live; Malfoys are in Marblehead, though the Swampscott commuter rail is probably a more convenient stop than the Salem one...

That was lovely! I like it when I can actually believe the reason that HP characters wind up in the US. I did, this time. The dynamics between Harry and Draco were well done, too.

I know you're a boy, Harry, but I think even other boys would take offence at being pummelled when they attempt to kiss you.

Of all the lines that made me laugh, this made me laugh the hardest.

I love the two of them, and their boys, and I love that the boys come first, even when one parent thinks the other is being an utter prat. And I love that I know the neighborhoods they move in.

Innovative and well done!

Aww. This story was so happy and bright even with the dramatic element. I really love the tone and the humour mixed in. And the title.

Thank you mystery writer! This was totally wonderful. I enjoyed it tremendously. I like a story that has a plot that pulls you in and this one completely did.

I also loved the slow build of Harry and Draco's relationship. I'm all about a relationship that actually progresses, like it does in real life. I liked that they had to work together, but that they didn't have the same job.

I totally bought the characterizations of both Harry and Draco. That's a big thing for me. I want to recognize the characters, and you totally hit both of them.

And I hate to admit how much I could see Harry hitting Draco like that because he was completely flustered. That worked as much as them kissing.

I loved the kids. Albus was just wonderful. Scorpius, too.

I also liked the fact that you didn't vilify Ginny, which too many fics do. She was just like her mother, and that is such a valid characterization. I liked that she realized that Albus was better off with Harry at the end.

And did I mention how much I liked the plot? I loved all the little magical details. Magical Forensics! Oh, how I loved that idea. And you had some really clever details about it, too. Well done.

And lest I forget, fumbling sex in the back of a car! Wow, that was hot and so perfect for them.

Thanks you so much for a wonderful story. I'm about to start reading it again.

OOOoh that made me all fuzzy on the inside. I would have preferred a full-blown sex scene, but handjobs in the car are still hot. Nice Post-DH fic. I enjoyed it. =)

That was great! I loved the dynamics between fathers and sons. There were so many funny moments. I could easily imagine Harry hopelessly repeating "You're grounded!" to Albus...and I loved Draco's New Year kiss: it really took me by surprise!

That whole New Years scene was just wonderful! I gasped when Harry punched Draco and then giggled with all the reactions.

The relationship between Al and Harry and Scorpius and Draco was just great, too, and I loved the regular police detective work with a magical twist. And the scene in the car was nice and hot! Oh and one of my favorite moments had to have been when Harry drove off to get away from Draco and Draco Apparated right into his passenger seat! Brilliant so like Draco.

I really enjoyed this! :D

This story is completely delightful! I love, absolutely ADORE, your characterization of Harry. He's so adult and grown-up and grumpy -- but being the dad of a Slytherin teen like Al will do that to you! I just love how recognizable and true to himself he was; even his interactions with Ginny rang painfully true. And I'm pretty much 90% a Draco-fangirl, so any Harry characterization that makes me this excited is definitely special.

I guess it's because you know he wants his old life back, when it was simple and planned and fairy-tale perfect. But he can't go back to that -- which doesn't mean that he will lead a new life with any sort of grace. Instead, he grows a sense of humor and ruefulness -- a very adult sense of acceptance. I love that even at the very end, he's resistent to Draco's charms. In the car, his cantakerousness while Draco is making out with him is so very Harry Potter-ish that my heart went all pitty-patty. He was dragged out of the closet -- he ain't comfy -- and danged if he'll adapt with any gracefulness. But Draco is there to smack him into sense and sanity. Their combativeness and sparking against each other is anti-fluffy, and I love it completely.

So much authenticity: H/D of course are still fighting, to the very end; Al is SUCH a teenager; Ginny's reaction to Harry's new life; Scorpius being Al's little bitch. I love this whole sarcastic, sexy story. Really.

This is one of the fics that I read as slowly as I could because I never wanted it to end. The characters, the mood, the pacing - it just worked perfectly for me. I especially enjoyed the inner workings of the extended Weasley clan and the House issues :)

oh, this is great!! i got such a kick out of harry living near boston, and al and scorpius sneaking out to head to fenway :P. i also like harry's obliviousness when it comes to draco and his stupid reaction to the new year's eve kiss [oh, harry...]. i'm glad draco didn't let himself be discouraged by that for too long [yay for car snoggage!].

As soon as I read the title, I know I was going to like this story. I enjoyed the wCSI background and the fact that Ginny was neither a delicate flower nor a satanic harpy. Harry comparing his teenage angst to Albus' made me laugh and the post kissing punch was just priceless.

I have to admit, i haven't read H/D in quite a while (or HP fic at all, for that matter), but I couldn't resist a title like that, and this story did not disappoint! I loved the case, and Harry and Draco working together as Magical CSIs, and your characterization of Albus Severus and Scorpius was really great!

This had SO much that I loved...

Harry/Draco, of course, but also plot, great character dynamics, crime scene investigation stuff, excellent dialogue, humour and wit, Massachusetts (to include my beloved town of Salem), Boston, the Green Line (which drives me insane, too, but I still miss it), the Red Sox, and Fenway Park.

Love that dirty water, O-oh Boston, you're my home...

Great story. Must sleep now. Happy Solstice!
