This story is completely delightful! I love, absolutely ADORE, your characterization of Harry. He's so adult and grown-up and grumpy -- but being the dad of a Slytherin teen like Al will do that to you! I just love how recognizable and true to himself he was; even his interactions with Ginny rang painfully true. And I'm pretty much 90% a Draco-fangirl, so any Harry characterization that makes me this excited is definitely special.
I guess it's because you know he wants his old life back, when it was simple and planned and fairy-tale perfect. But he can't go back to that -- which doesn't mean that he will lead a new life with any sort of grace. Instead, he grows a sense of humor and ruefulness -- a very adult sense of acceptance. I love that even at the very end, he's resistent to Draco's charms. In the car, his cantakerousness while Draco is making out with him is so very Harry Potter-ish that my heart went all pitty-patty. He was dragged out of the closet -- he ain't comfy -- and danged if he'll adapt with any gracefulness. But Draco is there to smack him into sense and sanity. Their combativeness and sparking against each other is anti-fluffy, and I love it completely.
So much authenticity: H/D of course are still fighting, to the very end; Al is SUCH a teenager; Ginny's reaction to Harry's new life; Scorpius being Al's little bitch. I love this whole sarcastic, sexy story. Really.
