279 // Beach potluck mingle //late afternoon >
[ A punishment doesn't always have to be a terrible thing and Aidan is actually pretty excited about this potluck — not counting a small break for baseball, he's spent most of the day setting up and with a little help from his friends, the beach is looking pretty great. There are tables set up for the food, legs buried deep in the sand for stability and plenty of blankets and beach towels to hang out on. Candles are shoved down into the sand, ready to be lit as the sun sets and he's already got a good fire going in the fire pit, ready for barbeque.

With the waves lapping at the sand, the breeze in the palm trees and the slowly sinking sun, it really couldn't be a more perfect time for a casual party at the beach. Come one, come all, mingle away! ]

	It's... going. We practiced a bit. Granted, there's only so much we can practice without actually going through with it, but... you know. [Or did he? It's a long story, but our grandmother sealed our powers and wiped our memories of having them. We just had normal childhoods, as far as we knew. It was for our protection until we were old enough to handle everything.

[Though, Piper was torn about that. She wanted to keep that normal life, but she also believed that becoming a witch and adjusting to the lifestyle would have been easier if she had her whole life behind her to help prepare. Picking all of this up in her late 20's with no guidance but an old book with spells and weird poems had been a lot to deal with... and doing it while attempting to fit it into her every day life with work and friends and other things... It had just been really hard.

"Normal" was a concept she dreamed about, and didn't know how to achieve.]
