Characters: Letha Valdine & OPEN.
Setting: Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, Saturday April 16, around 11 p.m. [Backdated]
Content: All ages, I would assume. Maybe pushing toward NC-17 depending on if Letha gets freaked out or not.
Summary: Not all who wander are lost (But she is, kind of); Letha ventures out into New Orleans for the first time.
Progress: Incomplete
It was noisy. That was the first thing Letha noticed as she made her way down the sidewalk. Her heels clicked against the pavement and rang in her ears. There were cars, so many cars, rushing about with their bright headlights washing over her, causing her to nearly cringe each time. And the smell? Letha had thought it would be intoxicating to smell the rich air that came with the mortal's world—but she was wrong. It wasn't always a horrid smell, though. There were some flowers that had a sweet scent to them, but more often than not, she couldn't imagine living in a place that smelled so strongly.
She took her time walking, as she had nowhere to be at any particular time. The houses that lined the streets were large, some more run-down than others, and again she found herself questioning what the draw of the mortal world was for her kind. She knew she would have to interact with some mortals in an attempt to truly grasp the attraction, and while that made her nervous, she had no doubt she would be just fine. Her guards were never far away, even if it looked as though she was walking down the street alone.
Before long, she found herself slipping into Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop. If asked, she couldn't explain what drew her to the building, though. Sitting at an open table, Letha watched the candle's flame flicker about for a few moments before the waitress drew her attention. Having never been to the mortal world before, Letha had no idea what kind of food or drinks she would like. Embarrassed, she simply asked for a glass of water and watched the waitress walk away. Letha let out a slow breath as she repeatedly told herself that everything would be just fine.
