A soft, light laugh bubbled up when he teased her, though she knew she couldn't rightly argue with him over it. She adored her books and learning new things, which meant now that she's in the mortal world, she had more than enough books to keep her busy for a good, long while.
The conversation swung into a more interesting subject, and Letha leaned forward a bit to show her interest in what he had to say. "But why would slim the numbers down? What would the benefit of that be?" Glancing around, she realized that what she wanted to say needed to be spoken in a softer tone, just to be safe. She shifted into the chair beside him before she leaned over slightly to speak to him quietly. "For some, the humans are their meal ticket, right? So why would they be concerned about slimming the numbers down? Wouldn't they want more choices?"
One of her favorite things to witness was when Atreus started thinking seriously about something they were discussing. He was clever and he often thought of things she could never imagine, which opened her mind to new possibilities. "Who says they aren't going to do anything, though? Maybe this is just the firs step, coming out into the open to let the mortals know they're here, they've been here." She was careful to keep her tone down, just to be safe. "And who knows? Maybe in a year or five years they'll start taking over the entire world. After all, it isn't as if the humans haven't been struggling with who would be the big power themselves.
