The party was held on the roof of the Mandalay Bay.
Additional security was obviously hired for the evening, rough and tumble men that added to the ambiance of danger at the young, hip, twenty-something event. There was a guest list, and guests that were lucky enough to be on it got to ride in one of the Mandalay Bay's mirrored elevators right to the top without waiting in the velvet-roped line that wound long and thick with Las Vegas' party-goers along the back of the lobby. Guests waiting in the line got checked against a composite of Alexander Pierce before being escorted into the elevator and spirited up to the hottest event in town, but the wait was long, and the prettiest and richest got in first, as they always did in sin city.
On the roof itself, amid hanging lights and the long, curving line of skyline, complimentary bar stations were set up, and servers carried trays of appetizers to guests. There was a temporary layer of plexiglass along the edge of the roof, made to guard even the tipsiest guest from plunging to their death, but that did nothing to hide the once-in-a-lifetime view. Crowded dance floors dotted the roof, with temporary tiles that lit up in the Vegas night to the beat of whatever song was being played, and music blared so loudly that it could heard faintly on the strip below.
A roped-off VIP section graced the far end of the roof, a deep red gazebo of gauze set up for the night, allowing friends and friends of Simon Curran's a little bit of added space. Angling a way inside was the goal of plenty of the party attendants, especially with Curran's famous circle of friends expected to be in attendance.
Privacy was available behind skylights and around corners, and the host rented out the entire topmost room of floors for guests that had too much to drink or smoke or snort, or that just wanted a little bit more privacy.
