Happy Holidays to my fellow staff members and the students of Hogwarts. It is December 1st and I've come bearing good news.

Since we haven't had an incident and everything has been running like clockwork I've decided that the new restrictions and rules will be dropped as of today. Students are able to go outside when they want, there will be a Hogsmeade trip this month before many of the students leave to celebrate the holidays with their families, and the curfew has been lifted.

But just because the restrictions have been lifted doesn't mean we shouldn't be on guard. If you see or hear anything strange please tell a teacher.

With the restriction lifted this means you can move back outside to your cottages if you so choose too.

Hello Staff and Students,

As all of you have notice we are unable to do magic. Please don't worry as this was a mere accident and not an attack. We have our best working on the issue and we are hoping everything will return to normal soon. So please stay calm and think of this as a teaching moment: what would you do if you are unable to do magic anymore?

One last thing. There is a new rule being put into place. Muggle technology or experimenting with it are forbidden on school grounds.

The curious students who caused this issue have come forward and I will be over seeing their punishment. Miss Famakinwa and Mr Boothroyd have been told what has happened and are currently working on a solution. Keep up the great work and lets keep the students calm.

I would like to thank everyone for obeying the new restrictions. I know everyone is getting a little stir crazy being inside all the time and the older years missing the Hogsmeade trip this month so I have a little surprise for you.

The fuck did I do

Students, given what has occurred, our classes will be moved indoors and rather than hands-on experience with the creatures I will be lecturing. While this is not ideal, your safety is important. This also means that we will not have any meetings of the CoMC club as I do not want any of you on the grounds for an extended period if you don't have to be. I will bring some of the less dangerous calmer animals into the castle if there is enough demand.

Good Morning Staff and Students,

I hope everyone is well after the long night that we had. I'm guessing everyone will need a little bit more sleep this morning which is why I am doing this over the journals and not making the announcement at breakfast.

Yes, the school was attacked by a group of what we a presuming are Death Eaters but nothing has been confirmed. No, they did not breach the school. The teaching staff did a wonderful job defending the school and you.

But with great sadness I must tell you that we lost a soul last night. Mr. Moore of the Hufflepuff house was found out on the grounds this morning. His parents have already been informed. This is a great tragedy. I am sorry.

There will be no classes Monday or Tuesday and anyone that wants to is welcome to go to the funeral if his family allows it.

Until Further Notice the Following Rules are going to be Enforce:
- no students will be allowed out on the grounds after supper
- students will be in their common rooms by 9:00PM every night including weekends
- Prefects will double up during rounds
- quidditch practice will be supervised by a teacher
- For now Hogsmeade weekend has been cancelled

Any student found breaking these rules will be severely punished.

I can't sleep. I've been up all night, and I just can't sleep. I keep getting dragged back out of bed, by what? I don't know. At times it's too hot, other times I'm just not comfortable enough, and other times my eyes just won't close.

So what have I done to counteract this? Absolutely nothing. I'm working. I'm grading, and when that becomes too much, I'm reading. It's a pain.

Still, could be worse, I could be sleeping soundly, warmly, and comfortable in my bed with a happy smile on my -- oh wait, that's better, not worse, isn't it? Well back to the drawing board.
