Hiii everyone! Tayber here, bringing in my third!

This is Hermes, one of the Greek Gods the carnaval has been entertaining the past few weeks. He's a trickster god, the messenger/emissary of the Olympians, and guides the souls of the dead to the underworld. He's the god of roads, travel, hospitality, animal husbandry, trade, thievery, communication, persuasion, cleverness, & athletics.

He's one of the most easy-going of the Olympians, cheerful and friendly and commonly shown in myths helping out heroes. He's not so easily offended as some of the other gods, and is generally more forgiving as well, though he still might turn you into a rock or a bird if you piss him off bad enough.

Being the patron god of travelers and trade and people who live by their wits, he's of course taken an interest in the Carnaval and it's inhabitants. If anyone would like to discuss prior encounters with Hermes and their characters during the Carnaval's stay at Olympus, or brainstorm for future plots, I'm all ears!

Malanna here! I will be taking a hiatus from Monday, March 24th @ 3AM cnetral - Friday, March 28th @ 5PM central. I will be in Vegas for work at a thing called CinemaCon if ya wanna check it out, it's pretty sweet! Anywho, at Caesar's Palace you have to pay for 24 hrs of internet and it's $15 which is pretty lame and my schedule will be pretty packed for the week. So, if I get back to the threads I have open with anyone, it will be through my phone and I will be slow if not completely absent!

Hello to you, my name is Jacqui and I'm a new player. With me I bring Nathan Young, from the British series Misfits. For those who have seen it, he's post series 2, ie after he left the show. For those who haven't, Nathan is... ridiculous. He's endearing and annoying, he never stops talking, and he's very inappropriate all the time. But he has some kind of charm to him that keeps him on his feet. [He also has an Irish accent, that probably helps.]

He's working as a cooch dance talker, so cooch ladies will get to know him, and that may or may not be a good thing. I think for the moment he's sleeping in a tent or possibly just on the ground, I'm not totally sure but he will be complaining about it for a while.

So that's him, and I'm me, and hello again. If you have any questions or ideas for this useless little idiot, you can comment here, or on aim [longagogodric] or through his ooc drop box.

As the Mardi Gras celebrations continued, storm clouds began to gather. Darkness came earlier than usual, even for the winter months, and rumblings of thunder began to be heard. It was Carnival, though, and the masses would not be turned away, especially on the last day before Lent.

The rumblings grew louder, the sky flashing with lightning. The wind off the water picked up, waves crashing in the canals. Shouts arose, shrieks filling the air as water spouts were spotted. The wind grew stronger still, sending tents and people flying.

A twister has picked up the Carnaval. But instead of Oz, your people will find themselves on Mount Olympus, expected to perform for the Gods themselves. Be careful, though. They have high expectations. Rewards can be great, punishments greater still.

This month turned into a shit show for me personally and everything seems to have suffered. The last week and half I've eased back into the land of RP and I can officially say that I'm back now. My head is all together in a much better place than it was. I'm sorry for practically disappearing on you all. Pretty much Regina has been doing what she has to and has kept to herself. (This is really so that I don't flood anyone with severely backdated tags). Now Skye...well IC-ly she hasn't even made her presence known so I definitely wouldn't mind a thread here. To have her officially be around. (Alsooooo someone pick up her cast mates I will give you virtually cookies and candies) And a thread for Regina if anyone wants to encounter the young queen. If you do want to thread with either of them, poke at me. I can write something up and toss it up once I'm home from work.

New player here, though I know a few of you in other games. I'm Mike (AIM is shootthewings). I have one guy here for now. Gabriel Gray, aka Sylar, from Heroes. He comes from the end of 4.11 episode "The Fifth Stage", after casting off his Nathan persona and heading off to find the Sullivan Brothers carnival. So he finds a bit of irony in ending up at this one lol.

His job is Juggler/Balancer here. Which he'd find simple enough, with his TK talent helping him a bit in that area. He's open to plot with anyone, friends, allies, enemies, etc. Oh! And heard a bit of news, they might be bringing Heroes back to TV in a year or so. Curious to see how that turns out.

While you (and your characters) slept, the entire encampment has been transported to the Carnevale di Venezia. Venice, 1774. The Carnaval has been booked in the main plaza and will remain there through March 4 (Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday). It's an exciting time to be in Venice; some forty thousand people have crowded into the city on the canals for a last celebration before Lent. Everyone wears masks and costumes.

The plaza will be full of people eager to see all that Carnaval has to offer. Feel free to interact with NPC Venetians or travelers from all across Europe. Be wary though, not only is the 18th century notoriously lacking in hygienic standards, but Venice, apart from the wonders in art and architecture, is also well known for high rank prostitution. Also beware, one of the most popular costumes for the locals is a transvestite: adult men dressing as women.
