The last time I was in Maine, I got seafood, rug burn, and third degree burns. I'd say not necessarily in that order, but I think that was how it went.

So far, this is proving a little different. The nuns are a nice touch. Not so crazy about how there's no exit sign, but nothing's perfect.

Nice to meet you, Storybrooke.

Really? Are you a Time Lord as well?

Rose... sounds familiar. What was your Doctor like? Did he wear a bowtie?!

No. I was a Time Agent for a while, but that's different. I'm mostly humanish. But from the 51st century, originally.

She's amazing. Ended up living out her timeline mostly in another reality too, but still saved the world. Made me immortal, but I've mostly forgiven her for that one.

I've known a few Doctors. No bowties. The first one I met liked a leather jacket, the next one liked a coat with some swish to it and Converse.

Brilliant! I have a daughter who was born in the 52nd century. Ever hear of her? Her name is River Song.

I wish I could have met her. She sounds smashing. Immortality not your cup of tea?

No fair! Those Doctors sound really cool! Why is mine the Raggedy Man who wears a bowtie and a fez?

River Song. There's a name I've heard, but a face I've never met.

It has its perks and its downsides. And the Doctor has a type. He likes them beautiful, brave, and brilliant, and usually able to save the world a few times. So you must be smashing yourself if you traveled along.

... a fez? Really?

She's here! I haven't seen her yet, but she appeared on the network. Haven't a clue where she's run off to though.

I can only imagine. Well, the Doctor met me when I was a wee, pudgy six-year-old who was afraid of a crack in my wall. Beauty, bravery and brilliance didn't even come close to what I was then.

He's an idiot.

Meeting her would be a nice perk of a trip to magical Maine.

Grew up knowing him, did you? Must have made for a hard man for the husband to live up to.

Has his moments, though, doesn't he? Does he still talk to the TARDIS?

I'm sure she would be delighted to meet you too.

Actually, he left me for twelve years and thought he was only gone for 5 minutes. Like I said. Idiot. And Rory... well, I couldn't have asked for a better husband.

That he does. And better. We met her, or her essence or something. She's actually quite lovely if only a bit odd. It was sort of like watching your parents snogging.

For a man who's meant to be a Lord of it, he always did have a hard time with time. He came back for you though, that's something.

You met her? That's a story I'd like to hear. She was good to me, even when her driver didn't want a tagalong.

Yes. He did. He always does actually.

I did! And River is special because of her. I'd be happy to tell you the story, Captain Jack.

Not for everyone.

How about over lunch tomorrow?

Oh no.... I'm sorry, Jack.

Lunch sounds great though!

Don't be, I found my own way. We have a complicated history, the Doctor and I.

From what I'm reading, Granny's seems like the place of choice, so say around one?

A good point.

I'll see you then.
