When two become one, or was that three? (Erics)
The night had come. She wasn't nervous or upset. She hadn't minded that the two Vikings had found some solace or enjoyment in each other's arms. Oddly she felt it was to be expected. She hadn't even minded that she hadn't been asked to come and play; she would have been happy to, but it was neither here nor there. If it had been someone else, her feelings might have been different, depending on the time, place, and person.

So, there the crone sat on a bed she'd shared with her husband long ago before he was her husband. Before they'd taken to living together. Before a good bit. She looked around the dark room, meant to keep him save from the sun outside. Her blood now did that.

She hadn't dressed up for the night. She hadn't brought them dinner, or tried to set a mood. She'd simply made her way to the room and sat on the bed to wait. It wasn't that she felt she had to do anything, nor did she seem to be waiting to out the other woman, or man. She just waited patiently to see how the night would go. To see what might happen because anything could and possibly would happen.

The crone shifted a little, feeling oddly restless. That was perhaps the only thing that distracted her from what enjoyment she sought here. Things were changing again in the City; balance or chaos was soon to come. Or both, knowing this place.

So, she waited to see what was going to happen.

Eric felt his wife's curiosity and knew that she was at the old apartment. Their bond was the way it should be now, strong and threading through him as much as it threaded through her. He felt like he wouldn't lose her, but that could just be the cockiness that he always had.

He anticipated the deliciousness of the two of them meeting with his mirror and enjoying the night. He had staunchly refused to discuss further what might happen to all of them, in his mind, there wasn't anything they could do about it, any which way. Why spend too much time tormenting themselves on the matter?

Eric got to the room just as his Other did. They appraised one another for a moment, each considering the body that was his and yet not. They had explored and wondered and now it was time for Baba Yaga to do the same. This was really her night, they both knew it.

He opened the door and smiled at his wife. "I think for the purposes of this night, you should refer to him by our old name, Lief. Since he's the more savage and harsh of the two of us."

It was not an insult. Merely a truth. Lief-nee-Eric saw this and nodded in agreement. "It will be easier for us all."

The crone sat as pretty as a picture on the end of the bed. She didn't rush to her Viking king, nor did she slide up to his mirror. She sat right where she was, watching, judging, considering. They were similar, yet she could feel differences in them, even without the bond binding her to one and leaving the other a stranger. It was odd seeing him and not feeling him.

"Interesting." She'd seen them together now and then, but this time it was her moment to actually take them in at once. "You do realize I could burn the two of you up, rising from the rubble like a phoenix?" She might have been more than little interested in what ecstasies the night could bring, but she was also frustrated with their lack of desire to prepare for what came next. There had to be a way to prepare. The fact that both seemed very willing to live until they died, oddly something she found devastatingly alluring, made her very much want to burn them both up and be done with them. They were both capable of breaking her heart, even or perhaps especially the one that was not hers.

"Lief." She lifted her hand to him. "My liege." Her other hand lifted for her husband. "You two have been very naughty without me." It wasn't an accusation, nor was it condemnation. The smile on her lips suggested that she didn't mind being left out other than she didn't get to play too. The two Vikings enjoying time with each other seemed like a very interesting form of masturbation, and she wouldn't begrudge her husband that.

"I suppose you'll have to make it up to me." Baba Yaga knew they could and would.

The one they were calling Lief watched Eric take his wife's hand, and then he grasped the other one. The smirk on his face matched Eric's perfectly. They might have diverged in some things, but not very many, not in reality.

"Yes." Eric lifted his brow. "We have been."

Lief watched Eric lean forward and kiss Baba Yaga with a beautiful passion he had not himself felt since his wife, so long ago. Indeed, she was a special woman.

"Now." Eric said, stepping back a little bit and shedding his shirt. "How about we show you just how naughty we've been?"

"Yes." Lief echoed shortly after. He, too, began to shed clothing, but he didn't stop at just the shirt. Not wanting to deal with it later, he removed everything, and then moved past Baba to climb onto the bed and situate himself behind her, giving the two a little room to adjust.

The crone could feel the slight differences between the two at the touch of a hand. She could rely on the bond; she knew exactly which was hers and which had been brought here. She knew all these things without being close to them, but she had always been a tactile type. She did like feeling of skin against skin, and she was a little amused at how very differently their skin actually felt. Eric could walk in the sun, and he passed more for a pale human than Lief ever would or could.

She smiled into the kiss, holding on to Eric's shirt to keep him close for a little while longer. She wouldn't keep him forever, as she was going to enjoy both men as much as she possibly could, before it all went to pot. She sighed softly and looked over at Lief. The man did not want a kiss, or...perhaps out of respect, perhaps eagerness, he decided to leave it be.

"Mm, perhaps you should show me." She reached back to brush her hand along a now bare thigh. Her feet might have been there before, but this time she wasn't being "overly forward." "I am curious how two Viking kings might enjoy each other." She smiled slowly and turned to look at Lief, a kiss pressed near his lips.

"I wonder how much blood is shed when you two find yourselves here."

Lief lazily trailed his finger along the spine of the woman in front of him until she spoke and stated that she wished to see how the two men were together. Quite gladly he pushed himself up from the position he'd taken on his side and joined Eric and Baba Yaga at the edge of the bed.

He sat so that Baba was between them, his hands on her shoulders. Even if it was going to be just him and Eric at first, he would not leave her out entirely.

Eric leaned over to kiss his wife again, encouraging her to discard her clothing at the same time. He felt Lief reach around her and quickly undo the button and zipper of his own pants and kicked them away as they fell to the floor.

Then it was all him and his mirror. He sat on the edge of the bed so that they would not be maneuvering above Baba, feeling that might be a bit too awkward. But he kept close enough so that their skin touched. Lief bent and placed his lips upon Eric's, both vampires' eyes closing. Their hands clasped and when the kiss was broken, two sets of fangs popped audibly. They kissed again, with less gentleness this time.

There was a slight thrill from the touch at her back, and she didn't mind it at all. Her brow rose as the Erics, or Eric and Lief, moved to be together quickly and eagerly. She wasn't surprised, or perhaps she was. The way they moved as if they were of one mind amused her in some distant way, and there was only a hint of jealousy, just a mere hint of it at the edge of interest, lust, curiosity, arousal. She was not going to separate the two in a fit of anger or pique.

Instead, she shifted where she sat, giving them more room. Giving herself a little more room as well to watch. She was easily out of her clothes by just pulling the dress up and over her head. She had prepared for the night it would seem.

Her head tilted as the kiss went from soft and longing to something more; she would expect the gentleness, the softness to last for only a short time. These were men who could treat a body with such finesse as easily as ripping a man's arm from his body and fucking him with it. Not that she'd seen the last bit, but she could imagine.

Part of her felt detached from the scene. It was a slightly nagging feeling. As if she were just watching a story play out, and she was just one of the many parts in that story. She tried to push that feeling away and the desire for introspection that was coming with it. Was she protecting herself from something? Or preparing? Or was she being some foolheaded girl who wasn't able to handle the night before her?

She hmphed at herself and lifted her hands to trace fingers over both the Vikings' skin. She wasn't trying to interrupt; she wasn't sure she could now that they'd begun.

"Such beautiful men."

It was easy to match movement for movement, even though they had grown into two different men, they still had the same long knowledge which lead to he same familiarities with touches and sensations.

Eric was disappointed a bit when he felt Baba move away physically, but became aware of her arousal and the desire to watch that bubbled from her, and gave his attention back to the man before him.

This was, as she had observed, more some sort of masturbation than it was sex with another. Their skin felt as one, their minds worked as one, they worked to bring one another pleasure which brought more pleasure to themselves. And now with Baba Yaga in attendance, it was rather voyeuristic as well, which pleased them both.

First blood was drawn on both at the same time through a nip to the right shoulder by identical fangs. Hands worked to spread the blood up necks in a teasing gentle gesture.

It felt difficult to both to pull apart, though they each wanted to invite their watcher to join in.

The crone felt very much like the voyeur at the moment; the only reason it didn't feel like she was watching a rather intricate masturbation scene was that she couldn't feel the other man. He wasn't there in the bond; he felt like an other, which made it both frustrating and delicious. They'd shared before, not here in this room, but in other places. She'd brought him a treat or two and partook of the pleasures.

Tonight didn't feel like that. It felt different, as she believed it should.

She might not be a blood drinker, but she knew the smell of it when it was in the air. Her lips pulled, not exactly hungry, but she knew what that blood would taste like. She wondered if Lief's would have just a slightly different flavor, his personal history giving a certain nuance to the taste.

The crone's fingers dipped into the blood, able to get just a small bit. Her eyes narrowed at the look of it on her finger tips. Her other hand played absently with Eric's hair. She was aware of what was going on before her, very much so. Her tongue flicked at the blood there, just a little taste before wiping it off on Lief's body.

She was careful not to get in the way, just there watching the pretty ones.

Oddly, Lief's skin felt like honey to Eric. He felt his hands becoming sticky the more they touched, and the sensation spread to lips and other places where they brushed against one another.

It was new, but the only thing that Eric could smell was the blood, and so he chalked it up to that, a little too caught up in the moment to really think.

He had no idea that Lief was experiencing - and dismissing - an identical sensation.

They felt when Baba joined in a little, to sample blood and to touch. Two hands reached out to invite her in further, the movement mirrored, but not just that. The hands seemed to be bound together in their closeness.

The crone jerked slightly, as if she were stung or burned. Her brows furrowed; power was building, and it was building right here. She thought perhaps it was the blood; blood was damn powerful. She'd used it often enough in her time, especially here. She hadn't been casting a spell, but that didn't mean anything. The two Viking kings letting their blood in what would culminate in an endurance test of sex binging and blood letting could call up power. The two men could probably feel it, but magic was not Eric's interest outside what it could do for or against him.

She would have continued to think that until the hands came for her. Baba stepped back, confused. Was this what happened normally? Her head tilted as she leaned in again, ozone biting at her nose. Something was wrong, or was it right? The bond was confusing things, as Eric seemed not at all concerned, a feeling she'd gotten from him a good bit lately. They would live til they were completely dead.

They moved like one, which was not surprising, not exactly. "My liege?" Perhaps if she saw his face, that nagging feeling would go.

Eric stopped kissing Lief at the words she spoke, at the concern in her voice but also in the bond that tied them so tightly to one another. He frowned as she moved even further away and attempted to look at her.

His face more rolled along Lief's than it did turn easily. He wanted the other version of himself to back away so that he could attend to his wife and her worries, but it was not happening. When he placed his hand upon the chest of the other, it sank in considerably. More than a hand would move the flesh of a human, and much more than a hand should have been able to move the flesh of a vampire.

Looking at Baba, then turning to look at his partner again, Eric noted what appeared to be a bridge of flesh, but it seemed to melt away and he thought for a moment that it might have been a trick of the light.

He attempted to pull his hand away from Lief and strings of the other man followed him. Confused, Eric brought his other hand back from its outstretched position, and it brought Lief's along with it. Their arms seemed to be one arm now, melted together like a doll left in the sun too long, with eight fingers to it and only one wrist.

The crone leaped back, her eyes wide. There was fear there, but anger led the brunt of the emotions. Among said emotions were still lust and curiosity. So was love and concern. This was not how the night should be going, but there didn't seem to be any way to escape it.

She pulled up a fire ball and glared at the one called Lief. She had heard stories of a tarbaby doing this same thing. She'd seen creatures consume another in such a fashion; taking the food in only to become it for a time.

"You will let him go! Or I will burn you and the world to cinder!" The fire ball danced in, sparking as if a tiny sun experiencing flares. The power in the room seemed to feed the fire ball, and the crone quickly dismissed it before she lost control.

There was something else. That nagging feeling again. It demanded she watch. It demanded this was the path that they were now on, and she shouldn't fight it, which pissed her off even if she did know that the nagging feeling was right. The fact that the bond seemed to be twisting, as if she could see it split and combine over and over around them didn't help matters. There was another there in the bond she shared with Eric.

"I would love to." Lief snapped, not angry with her, but at the situation. Both men flinched a bit at the fire, surely if she hurled it it would destroy them both. Eric was confident that Baba would not do such a thing, and his belief was solidified when she sent it back away.

Lief placed a hand on Eric's shoulder, attempting to push away, but his hand sank in and Eric's body swallowed it. Absorbed it. They began to pull together, each trying to go in his own way, but it seemed to just draw them closer. As they paid attention only to their upper halves, their legs had combined entirely. The two men were now two torsos upon a singular pair of legs, bent in seemingly impossible directions.

"Baba." Eric said, giving his attention to her. "My wife. I do love you."

He was abnormally calm for a moment, ignoring what was happening to him and his mirror. It didn't hurt. He didn't really feel much of anything physically. But he could not hold back the confusion and need to survive as himself for long, and he returned his mind to the occurrence.

They struggled, trying to part from one another, doing not much of anything at all.

That's when it hit the crone. Right in the chest. His words of love and the image of two men becoming one. The way the bond between them flowed not just from one but both men, the confusion.

She knew it was coming, but she didn't imagine this. She couldn't have. The balance had to be maintained, but this was not what she expected or even wanted. She'd have preferred the death of the other rather than a ...she had no idea what was really happening, other than the reality eliminating the abnormality, of righting itself.

"You do not do this!" She looked up at the ceiling, but her target audience was the City. "You cannot have him, you stupid child! You ridiculous idiot! You give him back! You send the other away! You do it now!"

Things were starting to shake, and at least one cushion exploded, stuffing going everywhere.

"You fix this!"

Eric longed to comfort his wife. To touch her and hold her and stop what was happening. But he also did not wish her to somehow get pulled into the ... mess .. of what he was currently. He did not even know how to accurately describe the sensation, and had no idea if they were going to be alive after.

Lief had grown completely silent, and Eric could not turn to look at him. Moving their hands and feeling for the other man told him that Lief's head had become a part of his neck and shoulder. And that the mass was shifting upward, as if to realign itself better.

He watched Baba's power begin to destroy the room. He tried to encourage her to keep fighting and demanding, but his mouth was no longer a mouth. Eric kept his eyes on his wife for as long as he could, until they too were swallowed into the blob.

The pair melted entirely, then. Becoming a formless and featureless substance on the bed, moving a bit like gelatin. Slowly, features began to form. Legs and arms, a distinct head. Until it was one Eric, curled on the sheets, eyes closed.

"You will pay for this." The crone didn't yell. Her voice was low and steady, perhaps an indication of just how much trouble the City was in. By the end of it, as the blob took over the bed, the room itself had turned upside down. There was at least one lamp stand fixed to the ceiling, and it was probably not coming down for a while. The small woman considered burning the blob, but that nagging feeling said wait, watch, yield.

Tears wet her cheeks as the blob became less and less of a blob and more of an..Eric? Her lips pursed; she moved closer to the bed, tears still falling. There was at least one wall burnt from electrical overload. Anything that could explode might have; there had been little satisfaction in it, but the nagging feeling hadn't stopped her in that. It had only wanted her to wait to see what came next.

When the form became a complete Eric, she climbed carefully on to the bed to look down at him. She didn't touch him, not yet. Something felt different, and tears threatened to blur her vision completely. Reality righted itself and, in so doing, took away her husband, the only man who saw her for more than some evil sorceress. He loved her warts, bags, cabin, and all. Now, she could barely feel him, not quite as if the man was completely something or someone else, but pretty damn close.

She finally touched his shoulder. Not sure what to call him because even in the touching, she could feel he was something different.

The touch was comfort, though he felt like he was sensing Baba through a lake of water. She was there, somewhere, he knew. As he started to open his eyes, a sudden flood washed over him, all of Lief's - the other Eric's - memories invading him all at once.

Eric gritted his teeth, trying to keep himself quiet, but the scream built with the pain and issued through his lips without his permission.

Though it passed quickly in reality, it felt like years.

When it did finally subside, Eric opened his eyes fully, turning on his back and stared at the ceiling. He knew there was no more other. That he was alone with his wife in the room, but not. Lief was still there with them. But inside.

He was Eric and Lief. Lief and Eric. Whole again, more than himself. And very happy to discover that it was not as if there were two minds in one body, just a lot of memories that had not been his before.

The room smelled of burning and he turned his head to look for her, reaching for her. "Baba?"

The scream made her jump, and the crone wasn't used to such sounds coming from those lips. She knew that he could probably make them, but she'd never had the experience. She moved closer, her hands on his shoulder as she tried to comfort him, to let him know he wasn't all by himself. Her fingers combed through his hair.

"I'm here." She still didn't use his name. She wasn't sure whose name to use. Her hands moved over his skin, touching his jaw, his cheeks. She was there, for him, no matter who he was. She leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead, then lower to his lips.

"I'm right here." The destruction around her ignored, and she wouldn't bother noticing it until she had to. Perhaps it had been the only way to channel some of the power she'd been subject to throughout the change. She kissed him again.

"I have his memories." Eric said quietly. He found Baba's hand and wrapped his own around it, kissing her fingertips gently. His lovely wife. She had stayed by him through the horror, and he could only imagine what it had looked like on the outside.

"I know everything he did in that place. From the time he got there to when he arrived here."

The way that he had built his strange empire in New Troy. The deal he'd made with the citizens there, down to where he'd kept certain books in his desk. It was so very strange.

Eric opened his eyes and looked at his wife. "But other than his memories, there's no trace of him here with me."

The crone watched the Viking carefully. Her head tilted slightly, listening carefully. She leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his lips again. They were both without clothes, which might have seemed strange at this particular time. Neither cared; clothes really weren't a concern between the two of them.

She looked into those eyes. She'd looked into them many times before, and her brows furrowed.

"I do not believe that is the case. I wish that were not the case, but you feel different. Can't you feel it? It's different. Perhaps it is residual, but it is different." She took a deep breath and let it go slowly.

Eric shook his head gently. The pain was gone, but he worried about it returning if he moved too quickly.

"No. I can't feel it right now. But I am very tired." He gave a bit of a tug on Baba's hand, urging her to come closer. "Perhaps if I rest I will be able to tell better."

He wanted sleep right now. Nothing more. Sleep, and then they would figure it all out together.

He'd settled for the basics, the base of his needs. The crone's lips pursed for only a moment as she wanted to understand, to know, to find the truth behind it all. He wanted to rest. She took another deep breath and gave him yet another kiss.

"You will feed, then you will rest." She lifted her wrist to his lips. She curled up at the Viking king's side, and kissed near his ear. A soft nip at his earlobe. "Feed now, Viking. Then rest."

She wasn't sure what it would do, but she was concerned that he might fall into a sleep that not even the City could wake him from. "Feed."

Even if he'd been in any kind of shape to argue, Eric wouldn't have. He knew the concern and shared it. He'd lost a lot during that... whatever it was. He needed the strength that blood would provide, and he wanted the strength that her blood in particular promised.

Eric placed a gentle hand over hers and pressed her flesh to his mouth. He tilted his head so that he could get a better angle with his fangs, and bit in carefully. He made sure that it did not hurt, but did not taint the feeding with any pleasure. This was for one purpose, and they had much to discuss. Perhaps she would not want to still be his wife when it was over, and he did not want her to feel strange about what was happening now.

He had enough to keep himself running, and stopped. "Lay with me?" He asked quietly.

There was a soft gasp as fangs broke flesh; it didn't matter that there was no pain, or pleasure for that matter. It was simply the act of feeding. Devoid of anything that could mean something. She sighed against his skin then pulled her hand away to rest on his chest, near his heart. She kissed near his ear.

"Yes. I will be here when you wake. We will talk when you wake." She snuggled into the side of his body after pulling the bedcovering up to cover both of them, especially her. She didn't exactly sleep like the dead after all.

"Rest now."
