And your reaction was to nearly kill him in the most painful of ways.

All to hurt me, to spite me, to take away something else I needed for myself.

You know what makes you look weak, Niklaus Mikaelson? Being too damn stubborn and lost in your own pride that you'd rather wallow in your childish tantrum than show respect to your own sister. You're coming across as a petulant brat rather than a man, and that makes you far weaker than any genuine apology ever could.

Because even though we tried to keep things simple and casual with us, he loves me. He actually loves me. And I needed his help.

I've stayed because even after all the ways you've hurt me over the centuries, I still love you. I do now, even though I also hate you at the moment. Because I am just done being treated like crap by you.

You're normally mocking me, crowing that you were right, or shoving me in a box for decades. Or, killing the boyfriends, like Emile. You didn't even give that one the time to go badly.

Really? Because you're sure as hell looking like one to me right now. Too scared to look at your own behavior and see Mikael's in there. Too afraid to look a man you've wronged in the eye and ask for his forgiveness, even when the potential cost is the family you claim to value so highly.

Just look at the words you've used with me, today, when you bit Stefan. Talking about what I dare to do or not for fear of you hurting me. Ordering me to fall in line, screaming at me that you won't let me do things. Pointing out that the fact I can actually speak freely is because you don't have a dagger around to contain me in a box.

Look at those words and tell me you actually give a shit about me. How, in any universe, can words like that show respect? And how are they any different to Mikael?

For the record, if I didn't want to give you the chance to make this right, I wouldn't have even spoken with you this much. And before you blame Stefan, you should know that I'm not at his place. I'm staying somewhere else because this isn't about me and him, it's about you and me and me finally reaching breaking point. Because you did wrong Stefan, more importantly, you wronged me.
