~~Are you really~~ Think about it Nik. Be objective for five seconds... He always had to have his way, he was always right, always teaching lessons to prove why his way was the right way or finding ways to force his views on us. I'm not saying it's intentional, probably quite the opposite really, but the similarities are there. ~~And they're rather glaringly obvi~~

As for what I want? It's simple. I want you to give me the same respect you blatantly expect from me. I think the depth to which our loyalty has always run for each other, the way things go ignored or pushed aside just because you're my brother, has made you forget that respect isn't handed out like a free sample, it's worked for and earned. And honestly...it's as much my fault for sliding it under the rug as it is yours for doing it in the first place. And I'll own that. This isn't a game of 'blame Nik for all your problems', I had my part too.

My question is...do you actually understand that you were in the wrong, and why?

Rebekah and I will talk, we'll see what comes of it but how many times have we been here, if she'd had the oppertunity back home she'd probably have tried the soul trick there too.

They don't know Mikael to make he comparrison in the first place. I said I have my part in this, didn't I? But you were. At that point, everything considered, you were something meant to be handled and managed. Or should we have let you go on a giant killing spree instead? Trying to protect the life I thought we were trying to build here just seemed a bit more important at the time.

That's not true. That's never been true. I've made the hard decisions when the rest of you would not. But its not about pride.

Do not tell me that Stefan did that out of the goodness of his purer than pure heart. No one ever does anything for unselfish reasons and the sooner you learn that the sooner the world will stop tearing you down every time you give your trust to someone.

If you'd made that deal I'd have made one right back. Whatever it took I would not lose you

Really? You've killed for less, as you've taken great pains to make sure everyone knows, so you were threatening all kinds of people, and freaking them all the fuck out so plans are actually being made to stop you. And even after all the bullshit you've put me through, I'm trying to protect you.

Hard decisions like controlling us and hurting us when we do anything you don't like. Just like Mikael.

He did it because he loves me. Because I needed his help to keep you safe. But maybe you're right, maybe I should stop trusting people, like the brother who does nothing but hurt me over and over and over again.
