Filtered against "baddies", Lucifer? Internet savvy demons?
I've spent the better part of my night in an emergency room being prodding at by a doctor who thinks I'm a lunatic. My visit only got better when I found out that apparently, I don't exist in Kansas, which means that my insurance doesn't exist. I can't call anybody because their numbers are out of order and I only stumbled across this message board out of pure, stupid luck. Needless to say, my evening is not going well.

I need answers. I need somebody to tell me what's going on. At this point, I have no idea what you want. So please tell me so I can not give it to you before somebody throws me in a padded room.

Given that the human lifespan can go well over 100, being in your forties is hardly ancient.

I know that! I was being annoying, it's a trait I have that you all hate.

Yeah, well. I've heard you get a wish at Christmas around here. Guess you know what to wish for.

If I could get any wish I wanted, Peter, it wouldn't be that. I would wish to be fifteen again.

Aw, is reaching the end of your teenage years really so tragic? Though I guess it does means you're three years closer to being 40. Such a horrific thought, isn't it?

No, Peter. It's because fifteen was before I first killed someone. Before my moral compass went spinning off into the ether.

How dare you Well you can't. You can't just wish that kind of thing undone. It happened. You don't get some easy escape from that kind of regret.

Actually, you know what? For someone who's so concerned with her moral compass, you sure don't ever actually seem bothered about the fact that you've killed people. You don't ever actually seem that bothered by anything at all, unless it involves someone getting angry with you. And those times, it's always, always the other person's fault. It's my fault for getting upset with you. It's the Bat families fault for choosing to bring you to justice. Or it's no one's fault because you're just being an idiot again, oops sorry, let's let you try again!

Fucking hell, Enigma. You want your goddamn moral compass back? Quit running from it. Put some goddamn work into it.

Can we run away together.

I mean mostly for a beer after this dies down cause Andrew and Tony would be awkward. Hilariously awkward but yes. What I mean to say is,

This. All the This.

Sounds like a good plan to me. God knows I can always use a drink.

You think you're entitled to have that just done away with? Are you serious?! No. You feel guilty for what you did? You feel remorse for it? Because that? Those things? They're supposed to be there. They're what make you stop and think and realize what you've done, that it was wrong. You killed someone. You took another life. Ripped it straight away from them. I've taken more than I can count. And let me tell you, little girl, I don't say that lightly because it's not something to blow off like it's nothing. Yet, here you are, acting like it's dust in the wind you'd like to brush off your fucking shoulder. You don't get that. What gives you that right? I fucking sacrificed myself for the greater good and guess what? When The Powers That Be brought me back cause they weren't done with me? Nothing changed. It didn't matter that I'd done the right thing. I had still done the same monstrous things I'd done before I burned. That's something I've got to live with. And no, it's not easy. It's not supposed to be.

Do you realize how many people's lives you just belittled with that statement? I mean, really. Think about it. You know the people around here by now. Plenty of us are working towards redemption. Redemption that, if we're completely honest with ourselves, we're probably never going to fully achieve because some of us have done far too many things that are unforgiveable and you can't fix, nor heal, nor change what you've done, but you can fix your attitude, adjust your thought processes, change your actions and fix your future. So we look at our lives and realize that we were wrong and we deserve every last bit of guilt we're feeling because it's the least you can do to try and repay for what you've done. But you have to want it. And you....you don't even know what it is to want to change. You don't know what it is to FIGHT for that change. With other people, but more importantly with yourself. Because with that kind of change, there comes resistance and on top of the people that you've left with no ability to have faith in you because of what you've done, you fight your own thoughts and beliefs that you've held for so long. Every day it's a fight. And if it's not? It's not real.
