So, uh, okay. I know I'm usually kinda quiet, so some of you might not know me, yet, if you're newish. I'm Chuck Shurley. I'm a writer a Proph kind of a prophet? Sort of. I mean, I am, but it doesn't always work very well, because angels are douchebags. So don't be surprised if I don't know anything useful until it's too late.

Anyway, I was wondering, would anyone be interested in some kind of basic 'modern survival' classes? I know Mary Winchester was sort of doing those for a while but she died aga disappeared because the seal hates the Winchesters being happy, and, I mean, I'm not exactly a teacher type but I can maybe probably try to do it, since the whole Prophet thing isn't really reliably helpful and I kind of feel pretty useless a lot of the time, when you guys are all out there shooting and stabbing stuff and.

I was thinking it should be really basic stuff, some easy cooking, maybe? Basic computer skills? I know we have geniuses who could probably teach you how to build your own computer, but that might not really be what's needed if you're here from the dark ages or something, you really just need to know how to turn it on, type faster, basic system controls and stuff, which I could handle. If there's anything else people want to learn, I'm open to suggestions, this was just an idea. I probably am not even the best choice for this so if anyone else wants to help get this going again that would be fine, I'm more than happy to just help with it instead of leading it.

[Jo]

If this thing does kind of take off, would you object to having a couple people at a time doing stuff in the kitchen or something, or is this going to possibly interfere with normal Roadhouse operations? I can theoretically do it at the Complex, I just don't like the idea of leavi prefer to stick close. Just in cas In case you need help with the girls, or something happens something.

Oh! I can help with basic computer type classes. Nothing too techy, though. Cooking not so much.

Nah, techy can be some kind of advanced class, if one of the genius types wants to do one, or something, at some point. I'm not touching techy either.

The more people who can teach this, though, the better, 'cause I think something like this would work best in smaller groups? Like, two or three at the most, probably, so they can all see and try it out without it being a big ordeal to set up, like, a billion computers and a projector screen or whatever. So, thanks, that would be great.

I don't do overly techy. Too bad Willow's not here, though. She could do the advanced class.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea.

So when you say you're kind of a prophet, does that mean you get visions? And stuff like that?

Yep, visions. Mostly the visions follow the Winchesters, since apparently I'm writing their 'gospels', or something. The visions are supposed to be from the angels, but apparently aforementioned angels didn't think I'd want to tell anyone what I saw to try to stop what's coming? But I do, and they don't like that, so now they just make it next to impossible to get a clear image, and super painful, to make me mostly useless.

My visions don't usually involve the Winchesters, and I have no idea what you mean about writing their gospels. But mine come from The Powers That Be, and we usually stop what's coming. Or at least try. Also super painful. But I don't think the angels and my Powers are the same.

As long as you let me know ahead of time, it's fine. I'm just glad you're putting yourself out there again I bet Henry would get a kick out of helping out with the computer and cooking classes.

Thank you. A lot. I really didn't want to go anywher And, yeah, definitely. You know how I am with planning - you'll definitely know it's coming well in advance.

True, and he seems like a bright kid, so he'd probably actually be helpful, too. At least with the computers, I mean, I haven't seen him try to cook yet, so I don't know about that, but kids nowadays already know almost as much as I do about how to use computers at his age. It's kind of insane.

Also the fact that I just said 'nowadays' makes me feel really, really old.

You're welcome - and yeah, I know. I still get nightmares over your charts and maps on the best route to get to the hospital you made up last summer before the twins were born.

He didn't do bad helping out in the kitchen the other day, so he might have fun with it. And you're right about computers. Half the time I think teens are like mini-Ash's.

Don't even. WE ARE STILL YOUNG, CHARLES.

Those maps were useful. I regret nothing.

...am I still young if the first thing I thought when I read that was this song? The second thing I thought was that I'm not Professor X. In case that's also relevant.

Right, because we needed fourteen different routes to the hospital.

...Did you really just rickroll me with Pat Benatar, Shurley? And yes, I was going for the XMen link.

I did? Just in case. What if there was traffic? Or road closings? Or a giant tree obstructing the road?

I may have. Is Rickrolling a thing when it isn't that one song? ...and I'm not sure how I feel about that comparison. On the one hand, it's kind of awesome - on the other... am I going bald? Are you hinting that I'm losing my hair? Should I start doing the comb-over thing, or buying that Rogain stuff? A toupee?

Yeah? If you want to, you can. I could use the extra help, and I bet people would rather listen to you teach them than me.

Okay. Sounds like a plan to me, then. Maybe make sure your mom doesn't mind? I don't think it'll be dangerous, and we'll probably just do the class here, so I don't think she'll mind sharing you, but it doesn't hurt to make sure she's okay with it.

The more people that can use the computers reliably, the less Lucifer's minion-things can isolate everyone. That alone is definitely considered helping.

You - as a collective, not you personally, as far as I know? - make my visions like seeing through smoke while someone stabs needles in my eyes and brain... so, uh, it seems kind of accurate. Ish.

It's funny, I was about to make a post really similar to this. Though not domestic things. Not really my field.

Non-domestic is not my field. Not that domestic is, not... really, anyway. But I can do 'bachelor-esque cooking 101: microwaves are your friend' and 'how not to crash your computer', at least. Maybe 'baking is not terrifying', but that's sort of an advanced class, kinda, maybe.
