That was jarring as fucking hell. Next time I see Jackie fuckin’ Estacado, I’m gonna punt his dick all the way to Giants stadium. Somebody mind pointing me to the airport? I gotta get back to New York and, hopefully, some punting lessons.

Exactly. Hence the dealing with him part being far more complicated than I even want to begin thinking about. We had to fight our way to the others. Easy enough, if you're smart enough to figure out how to get around their respective abilities. But Death? He could stroll right into the city and make every one of us drop dead on the spot. How in the hell are we supposed to prevent that from happening?

Yeah, probably. Seems like most people who have been involved with the monster hunting in their own worlds have found differences in the monster types here. I can give you a few books and show you the ropes on some of the know-how if you're really interested in getting involved with all of that.

(Tom)
You too. Crappy start for both of aside, I mean.

Mind if I ask about your Hell involvement? I mean, why do you reek of it?

Good question. Don't suppose we know if any of those "games with death" legends are actually legit?

I'd appreciate that, thanks. I'm definitely interested.

[Sam]
My fault. Whether I had reason or not, I lost control. I appreciate you being reasonable about it, man.

I was there. Where I come from, it's the only place to go. There's no Heaven. Sinners and saints alike go to Hell, and their souls get harvested by the residents. It's literally made of us. It's also not about punishment, though with all the torture and agony you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Dunno how long I was there. I lost count, and sometimes the demons twisted my soul into other things and I was barely conscious, and a lot of the time I was just too busy screaming to think, but I know it felt like I lived more years down there than I have topside. Seven years passed up here.

What got me down there...well, I got killed. That's the other thing I should probably mention. Short version is that this archdemon wanted this thing I'm bound to, so she killed me and took it. Here's the hitch: That thing is The Rapture. As in The Rapture. Where I'm from, it's literally God's last message to creation. Gives me access to what I call my Brimstone form, which makes me super-strong and damn near invulnerable, but that's not the part the demons care about.

The demons care that it can get me in and out of Hell, and that I can use it to release souls from the Pit. Haven't tried it here, and to be honest I'm not all that eager to in a world where the Devil is actually paying attention. Here, it's gonna be a threat because when I'm topside, I can also take hope from people. Meaning if they get their hands on it, and if they can master it, they could pretty much put down any rebellion right then and there.

I don't know. Around here, the only way we usually figure out if legends are true is if we actually try and see if they are through action. So unless we decide to summon Death here for an earlier trip than planned...

No problem. I'll set you up with some stuff to get you started.

(Tom)
You were thrown. It's excusable enough. Any other time? It wouldn't be. But I'm willing to give you seal addled folks a little leeway when you first get here on account of all the bizarre.

I can't imagine a world where Heaven didn't exist. Not that my personal experiences with Heaven have been all that great, but I like to think that when Zachariah and his cronies aren't trying to screw me over it might be a nice enough place to end up someday if I mean, no matter what, you go to Hell? Even if you're the most innocent person in all the universe? How does that balance things out on the good versus evil scale?

I can see why you wouldn't want to try pulling souls out of the pit right under Lucifer's nose. It'd put you real high on his list of people that he wants dead. Something like that could still be usef

Hope? How?
