I think I have finally managed to make my room respectable enough to see clients. Of course, there is only so much one can do with a gift card to Wal-Mart, ~~and what a horrible~~ but I'm a resourceful woman. It is definitely an improvement on it's previous state and if things go well here perhaps I can purchase a bigger place.

I suppose now is as good a time as ever to introduce myself properly instead of asking a million questions. My name is Inara Serra. I wasn't born in this time and when I come from Earth doesn't exactly exist anymore. I am a trained and licensed companion. It's the way I make my living and it is a part of who I am. 	I don't know. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. I've trained my entire life in order to become a companion. I don't know any other life and I really do adore what I do. Perhaps I don't. But given how you've spoken of it, there are different components. No one singular thing. That's what I meant. Maybe being a Companion isn't something you do, but if you wish to do something and not just wait for the next big crisis, perhaps you isolate aspects of it, those parts that are still inherently you and see if there isn't something where you can at least utilize that, even if it's not the same. It's merely a suggestion.

It does seem that way, doesn't it?
