Crowley went and got attached ([info]sinbroker) wrote in [info]wariscoming,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:crowley, kol mikaelson

WHO: Crowley and Kol Mikaelson
WHAT: Crowley has something for Kol. It's a bit weird.
WHEN: Yesterday.
WHERE: Crowley's room at the house currently crawling with Mikaelsons.
RATING: TBD, but it's these two so probably not kid safe!
STATUS: In Progress.

The King of Hell was actually exhausted. It was hard to make a demon tired, they didn't need sleep or food or drink, they were immortal like that. But it turned out that taking over an entire realm, one that was based on darkness and pain anyway, wasn't an easy job. Add into that all the work he had done on rescuing people from the Cage, and calming Ruby, and babysitting Emily, and letting his vampire's family take over his house in order to help the blondie one, and arguing with morons, and even a demon would feel run ragged. Even stressed.

It meant that whenever he could be, he was topside. The majority of his time was spent in Hell, it had to be, the King had to be in control, had to be seen as a leader, feared by many, commanding the loyalty of the masses. The last thing he needed was one of the more crass and violent types making a play for his throne. No, now it was the time of the politician demon, the salesman with ambitions. Times they were a-changing, as the song went, and he had to keep things moving along.

He had been inwardly debating giving Kol this gift for some time, wondering if he was doing the right thing, or if he'd live to regret it. Or not live, more to the point. But time, it seemed, was not his friend. Sam was a literal psychopath, and who knew what state he would be in if he got the soul back, and there was no way Crowley could trust Castiel not to move against him. He had enemies, far too many of them, and not enough people he truly trusted. Kol had, somehow, become one of them. How, he still didn't entirely know, but it had happened and now Crowley was going to prove it, while hopefully protecting his own future and simultaneously offering a grand gesture that could be described as epic.

Multitasking, what a glorious thing.

As he didn't know how long it would take Kol to come upstairs, Crowley was lounging back in his leather arm chair, a glass of scotch at his side, his eyes half closed as he tried to ease out the tensions that had formed in his, admittedly stolen, body. It was good to be the King, but it was also bloody hard work. Really, the title should come with a warning label.

Things had been so hectic lately that Kol had hardly had time to sit and really be exhausted. Between Bekah being trapped in the cage and then emotionless and on the run, he hadn't stopped to let it all sink in, instead he was just running on stress, letting it run him for now. He was glad for Bekah to be back, but it was a reunion that was tainted by her time in the Cage. Kol had to wonder if he would ever really have his sister back or if he'd end up losing her to madness. People didn't understand how heightened everything was for them. They knew the concept, but feeling things the way they did was so different from a human.

Ever since the battle's end, Crowley had been busy securing his spot in Hell, making sure his demons were loyal. He'd done the ritual needed to save those in the Cage. A lot of his time was spent downstairs, but when he was topside, and wasn't busy elsewhere, Kol had taken a sort of solace in what timehe managed to snag with his demon. So, when Crowley mentioned that he had something for him, Kol could only contain his curiosity for a short while. He headed upstairs and slipped into the room silently. It wasn't intentional, but you hang around for a thousand years, you tend to fall into a habit of being as quiet as possible. And whether Crowley had noticed him or not, he wasn't sure, but for a short moment, Kol could see the sheer exhaustion written plainly across the demon's demeanor. "Seemed pretty anxious for this," he muttered, moving to pour himself a glass of scotch. He usually stuck to bourbon, personally, but had gained more of a taste for scotch than he'd had since being around Crowley.

It was impressive, the fact Crowley hadn't heard Kol come in, even with the increased senses demons had. Though he hadn't tensed. There was enough security, both magical and normal, around his house that no one was getting on the grounds without him knowing about it. And while the crazy Mikaelson brother apparently had some record for killing the lovers of his siblings, Crowley reckoned he'd probably earned himself enough credit that Klaus wasn't going to randomly kill him any time soon. Probably.

With most others, he would have put on a smirk, hidden how tired he was, but Kol was one of the two people he didn't bother to put on an act with. And really, these days Ruby got something of an act, the confidence he didn't really feel but she needed to believe in. But a half smile did appear on his face as he looked up at his vampire pouring a drink. "Your tastes are improving." Bourbon was acceptable, but nothing really beat the flavours of a quality scotch, perfectly aged. Glencraig was his favourite, but it was rare these days. It was probably the lingering hint of Scotsman in him that so appreciated proper whiskey.

And thinking of that.

"Things are complicated," he only half answered, swirling his drink around his glass for a moment. "Tell me something, how many ways do you know to truly kill a demon?"

He wasn't sure how it had happened, but somehow the pair of them had become so comfortable with one another that there were no acts put on between them. Kol was undecided whether he liked it, made him feel too....open? Exposed? Whatever it was, it was unsettling. But weirdly, in a good way. "Well, I thought you might have my head if I didn't acquire the taste for scotch," he snarked back.

In the life he'd lived, the thing he'd seen, in simply being a Mikaelson, 'complicated' was something Kol had come across rather often. Complicated was never a good thing, in his experience. The word put a bad taste in his mouth, but he ignored it because Crowley had shown him he could still be surprised sometimes. "What things are complicated how, exactly?" He frowned slightly at the question. It caught him off guard. What difference did that make? "Just what they taught at the camp," he admitted with a shrug. "Angel blade, the Colt." He took another drink from the glass. The possible directions it could go were running through Kol's mind and he wasn't sure where the demon was going. This particular topic of conversation was doing nothing to calm his nerves.

"Probably not your head, maybe just your tongue," Crowley did actually smirk at that, a faintly wicked gleam in his eyes. "Until you grew a new one with better taste. And really, it would hurt me as much as it would hurt you, I like your tongue." And all the things he could do with it, and that was a train of thought Crowley needed to ease up on, or he would never get things finished.

Ah, complicated. Always such a good word, but really the best one he could have used for the situation. "Complicated with Winchester's soul, and all that going on, and Castiel." His expression darkened a little at the mention of the angel, though he shrugged it off quickly. "All meant I've had to adjust my planned schedule a little bit. I'm adapting though." He always would.

Ah, the Colt and the Angel blade. The one of a kind gun and those swords that were oh so rare to get. Plus Ruby's knife, but that never left her for more than a moment. "There's one other way." He drained the rest of his glass before he leaned over and grabbed the black leather bag by the side of the chair, handing it out to Kol. "Present for you. Those are the bones of a sod named Fergus Roderick McLeod." No mention of who that man had been, a name that hadn't actually passed Crowley's lips in centuries. Just the bag being handed to his vampire, with a name that had all the meaning in the world.

He wrinkled his nose at the idea of it. "I rather like my tongue just where it is, thanks." he said, a slight smirk playing on his lips at that last comment.

"Oh," he muttered a bit dumbly. Somehow, he'd expected something else, though he couldn't quite say what he had expected, but that just wan't it. "That. Yeah, well, just leave the angel alone." Kol had only half-kept up with that argument, it had been the least of his worries at the time.

A frown slowly etched it's way into his face as he was presented a literal bag of bones. Kol was confused and it was apparent on his face. "I...don't understand."

Crowley actually rolled his eyes at the idea of leaving Castiel alone. "Don't worry, I've decided if he's going to be a constant moron forever, it'll be best for everyone if I ignore him. Don't want him getting it in his head to try to kill me, that'll just get awkward." Potentially embarrassing as well. Crowley didn't think the angel had figured that he wasn't some mere demon any more. Oh, he could still be killed in the same ways, that hadn't changed. But now he had the forces of Hell behind him.

He almost smirked at the confusion on Kol's face. "The only other way to kill a demon is to burn the bones of who they were when they were human. That sod right there is me. Fergus Roderick McLeod is my real name, my true name, which does also mean you can summon me whenever you want, only please try using the phone first, it's a bit of a headache getting yanked around by a summoning." His tone was casual, though the words were anything but. Crowley had actually gone back to Scotland and dug up his own grave, retrieving the bones that few knew about. But that few was still too many. Find out the name, well, that wasn't impossible, summon up the ghosts of people who had known him in life, and the bones could be traced. But now, now he was giving control to Kol. The ability to kill him. And having to trust that the vampire wouldn't.

"Not worth the headache, really," he shrugged. He'd managed to tolerate the angel long enough to get him to draw the sigils so Lucifer couldn't find him, but that was really all that Kol had interacted with him.

The near nonchalant tone tagging along with the demon's words didn't quite match the weight of them and it threw Kol off a bit. Okay, so maybe they'd always sort of been this way, saying things without saying them, admitting things without actually giving anything away, but this was different. This was Crowley's life literally in his hands. And as many things as he wanted to say, only a single word even managed to make it out of his mouth. "Why?" No judgment, no disregard for what he'd just been presented, just confusion and curiosity.

Crowley had figured that Castiel was a moron, quite frankly. It did make him miss Anna all the more, now that was an angel able to think outside the box, to be open to new ideas. Castiel was still stuck in the old ways, and it was frustrating.

Of course Kol was confused. It wasn't every day a man was offered his lover's bones. And Crowley did so enjoy getting to throw people off from the expected, but even aside from that, it was important. "Because things are complicated." He half smirked before shrugging. "I can't predict what Winchester's going to do, either now or after he gets his soul back. I don't know if the angel is going to go crazy. I've got enemies wanting the throne. My bones, those are the biggest physical weakness I have. I need someone I trust to protect them. That would be you." It was hard to admit, that he trusted anyone. He almost trusted Ruby, but also knew that if it came down to a choice between him and her husband, the Moose would win. So he needed the bones moved. Protected. And Kol was the only one he trusted with it. "So no letting your brother use those as a chew toy, okay? If he wants to indulge his canine side, we can get him bones from the butchers."

There was that word again. Complicated. But he shook the thought away, focused on what Crowley was actually saying. He trusted him. Truly trusted him, wholly and completely. Because if he didn't, he wouldn't be giving him the way to truly kill him. Wouldn't let the vampire literally hold his life in his hands.

Kol considered for a moment if, were the White Oak Stake here, would he hand it over like this? But it was an easy answer to come up with. No. Because he'd already been killed once and he wouldn't even let the possibility arise again. "He won't even know I have them," he assured him, his eyes locked on the others'. "No one will."

Crowley could tell from the way Kol was looking at him that he understood exactly what it was the demon had given him. It hadn't been an easy decision for him to make, and it was one he'd gone back and forth on for a while before finally deciding that he could trust his vampire.

"Good." Because yes, he was inwardly relieved that Klaus wouldn't know. He was pretty sure the Hybrid would use anything he wanted as he felt he needed it, and rationality wasn't always his strongest suit. "I don't even want to know where you end up putting those. Safer that way. If only you know, only you have access to them." It never got any less weird, looking at his own bones. He'd been in this host for so long, it felt like his true face now, but the skull in that bag, in Kol's hands, that was the real him.

"And hey, who says demons can't do the romantic gestures," he smirked before looking vaguely disgusted with himself for even using that 'r' word. So wrong. "And no calling me Fergus, I hated the name when I was alive, I'm really not going to use it now I'm a demon. I'm Crowley, have been for hundreds of years. It's what I actually answer to." Fergus Roderick McLeod might have been his 'true' name in terms of magic and power, but Crowley was who he truly was, who he was meant to be. It was an identity he had carved for himself, and one he was actually proud of.

Though there was, admittedly, a rather large part of him that didn't want this, didn't want the sole responsibility of that kind of knowledge, there was a a greater sense of pride that came with it, a sense of...well, trust. And it wasn't something he was used to feeling, wasn't a thing he was used to having with people, and it was a bit odd to have it so well with someone, in the grand scheme, he knew so little about. Of course, it was only now, in this moment, that Kol truly realized how little he actually knew about his demon and that made him curious. He'd heard a few things, how his Mum had been a witch, it was something they'd had in common. But mostly, the newly crowned King of Hell was rather hush hush about his human life.

"Wouldn't dream of giving him that kind of power over you." He said, a bit of vehemence behind his tone. He'd seen his brother's reactions to his sister's suitors and, okay, things were different here, but there was still a part of him that worried about it happening. Just the off-chance that something could go just so and send his brother into that mode again. "Or anyone else, for that matter." Because, really, no one deserved it. Kol didn't even feel he deserved it.

Kol couldn't help the slight chuckle that accompanied that particular declaration. "Well, we all have our moments, I suppose." He wrinkled his nose at the thought of it. "You don't have to worry about that," he assured him, setting the bag down because honestly, standing there holding a bag of bones was a bit awkward. "It doesn't suit you anymore. Maybe it never did." He shrugged, working on pouring a second glass of scotch.

Crowley actually blinked at the vehemence in Kol's tone. Oh, he'd known that his vampire would keep the bones safe from Klaus. And everyone else. But he hadn't expected that level of tone about it. And he was actually, well he was actually moved by it. Moved that someone could feel that strongly about him, in a way that wasn't screaming hatred, because that was entirely normal for demons, obviously.

"I know." Was his simple reply. Actually genuine, no smirks, no sarcasm. "Knew I made the right choice." Kol had saved him from Lucifer, after all. After that, how could Crowley not trust him with the bones? Besides, it wasn't really that he was asking Kol to lie to Klaus, the odds of anyone turning to his vampire with a casual 'oh by the way, has Crowley given you his bones' were astronomical. But it did mean a lot that Kol had recognized the power he had been given. And Crowley trusted he wouldn't abuse it.

"Of course, it brings a whole new level to saying you can jump my bones any time," he lightened the mood and poured his own second glass of scotch before he leaned back against the chair, confident and in control of his domain, even if that was simply his room for the moment. "It never did. Really never did. It's not who I am."

Kol had surprised himself with just how much had been behind those words. He usually didn't think all the deeply about what he and Crowley were, whatever it was betwen them. And it was things like the sheer insistance in his own voice that reminded him exactly how far he'd allowed the demon to worm his way in. It was a realization that made Kol nervous, if he were completely honest. But he decided to ignore that line of thought for the moment because it was just that much too much for him to handle, given the sheer power over him Crowley had just given him. Kol was practically an expert at compartmentilizing.

"It really does, doesn't it?" he smirked as he took a sip of his scotch, staring at the demon from behind the top of the glass. "So, tell me," He said as he moved to sit in a second chair in the room, "what were you like back then?" There was just a curiosity he couldn't ignore.

Crowley had thought that once the bones were accepted and put down, and Kol was sitting and they were both just drinking the scotch, that just maybe they could change the topic into something a little less depressing. But, apparently not. Kol wanted to know about what Crowley had been like when he was human. And that was hardly an entertaining discussion.

Still he had asked, and Crowley would answer, talk about things that he hadn't talked about in centuries, because apparently he couldn't actually deny Kol much. That was something he didn't want to think about too much, didn't want to consider exactly what it all meant. So instead, he simply sighed with a wry smirk.

"Utterly unremarkable." To sum it all up. "I was Scottish. A tailor, actually, hence my appreciation for my dearly departed, amazingly talented and thoroughly eaten one a few weeks ago. I understand the art involved in making the perfect suit." Not that he had been that talented in life. "Inherited the business from my father, my mother was a witch as I've told you. Stubborn woman, very fierce. Makes that Scottish poltergeist in town look remarkably sweet and demure." There was an actual hint of affection in his voice as he spoke of his mother, one of the very few he had cared about in life.

"I was married, loathed the woman. Had a son, whiny little shit who probably wasn't mine anyway. Gavin. Hated him, he hated me." That was his life, really. Boring. The only person he cared about, or who cared about him was his mother, and after she was gone, Fergus McLeod only had the spells she had taught him. "So, I summoned a crossroads demon, made a deal, and ten years later, the hounds came for me and I went to the Pit. Became a demon." Not an easy process, having one's soul twisted and blackened into being a demon was hardly fun, but he had managed it. Even come through it with some modicum of sanity. "So there you have it. I was bored, frustrated, and nothing of any interest to anyone, I wanted to become something more, so I did. Eventually."

Kol noticed the reluctance at wanting to talk about his human life, but he also noticed that didn't stop him from doing so. The way he spoke about it, there was a high level of diconnect from it all, except when he mentioned his mother. Kol could still remember a time when he spoke of his mother the same way.

Something about it all hit Kol very differently though, perhaps as a third party listener, maybe because he hadn't personally lived it. But there was a very different perspective to him. "You don't see it, do you? The bloody brilliance in that story." He finished off the scotch and set the glass aside. "Look how far you've come. You started out as Fergus McLeod, tailor with a life he hated and now you're Crowley, King of all the demons, anything you want at your fingertips, none of which was handed to you. It's all yours, all of your own doing. And that?" Somewhere in all of his rambling, Kol had made it to his feet and closed the distance between them, stopped just in front of Crowley now. "That is exactly why you have every right to every ounce of smug, cocky attitude you have. You earned it." With that, the glass in Crowley's hand was snatched and set aside as Kol pressed his lips to the demon's own, all rough passion.

Crowley actually blinked at that. Genuine surprise, and that didn't happen all that often. Until Kol, it seemed, because it happened with an almost alarming frequency where he was concerned.

"Never thought of it that way." And yet Kol was right. Fergus McLeod had been a nothing, a nobody, and now he was King of Hell, one of the most powerful around, commanding legions and sleeping with an Original vampire. All things he had worked for. "I really did bloody earn it, didn't I." Most people found his smug attitude annoying, but not Kol, and that was something Crowley definitely appreciated. So much so that he gave a faint moan of approval at the kiss, his now free hands reaching up to tug Kol down, responding with just as much passion and roughness. "You're the one who's bloody brilliant." The words were muffled by Crowley's lips against Kol's, but clear enough anyway. Any tiredness he had been feeling was definitely gone, Kol being more than enough to make him feel energized again. He was half standing up, half pulling Kol down, anything to just get a feeling of more contact between them.

"Yeah, you did. You really did." he nodded. The sarcasm, the snark, the smugness, each one were qualities Kol actually rather admired in the other man. Partially because they were qualities he himself had, but also because he'd seen the way Crowley had actually earned the right to it all.

"Me?" he mumbled back, confused, but also distracted by roaming hands as he shifted, just enough to push Crowley back down into the chair, Kol now straddling his lap. "And what exactly is so brilliant about me?" he muttered before he began trailing faint kisses along the side of his demon's neck, waiting to hear the answer to his question.

Crowley let himself be pushed back, enjoying the feeling of Kol straddling him, and letting his head roll back to give his vampire better access to his neck. Because whether it was kissing or biting, he didn't think he would ever tire of feeling Kol's lips against his skin.

"Oh, so many fucking reasons." His hands slid over Kol's body, one up to tangle in his hair, the other down to grope his rather fantastic arse. "What you're doing right now being just one of them." Words that were said with a slight groan that wasn't even intended but proved the point quite nicely. "And there's the way you are so damn good at hunting, at killing, and look fucking sexy when you're doing it. The way you're so loyal to your family, even when they are crazy." He couldn't quite resist leaning forward and biting at Kol's shoulder, though it was through his rather annoying shirt. "The fact that you know what I am, you understand what I am, and you're here anyway. The way you got me back from fucking Lucifer, even when all good sense and Winchesters told you not to." It still amazed him that Kol had done that. Most would have abandoned him to Lucifer, but not his vampire. His brilliant vampire. "You're fucking strong and I don't just mean because of the vampire thing, and did I mention how incredibly hot you are yet? Because that's something too."

There was an involunatry moan hummed against the demon's neck as Crowley's hand tangled in his hair. That was just something that would always get his attention. And as Kol listened to all the reasons the other found his vampire so bloody brilliant, he let his 'true' face shine through as he bit into Crowley's neck. He just couldn't resist it, he just tasted so damn good, and he knew the demon never minded it. Just one of those things they both always got a little something out of.

He eventually found his way back to reclaim the demon's lips, traces of blood still lingering on his lips as he bit playfully at Crowley's lower lip. "That's a lot of reasons," he mumbled, smirking slightly.

"Oh fuck." Crowley didn't even mean to say it, or for his fingers to tighten in Kol's hair as he encouraged his vampire, relishing in that sweet mix of pain and pleasure that always came from being bitten. He could have quite happily let Kol drink more, and his reactions showed as he pressed up against the other man.

Still, he got a kick from tasting his own blood on Kol's lips as they kissed. "And all the reasons are true." His reply was also mumbled, unwilling as he was to actually stop kissing his vampire for more than a split second or two at a time, because this, this relationship? Was actually addictive. Which probably made it dangerous, but Crowley really did not care about that. Kol just had that affect on him, every time.

Something about the man beneath him just had an effect of Kol like no other ever had. He couldn't quite figure out what it was that made him so different, but whatever it was? It had held Kol's attention for longer than anyone in all his thousand years had ever deamed of. He was the over-indulgent one, the decadent sibling that sought pleasure in all its forms, he had never even considered something like this before. And his sheer inability to separate himself from Crowley at times actually made the vampire a bit nervous. It was dangerous, how close he'd let the demon get, but ultimately he didn't care enough to leave.

With his forehead resting on Crowley's own, he smirked a little. "I think you might be a bit bad for me," his voice a bit huskier than usual. "D'you have any idea how addicting you are?" Whether he meant the blood or the demon himself was entirely up to Crowley's own interpretation.

He had to laugh, the high from being bitten still running through him, and even though technically he didn't need to, he was breathing heavily. "Admit it, you like the way I'm bad for you." Just as he liked the way Kol was probably bad for him. All logic said he shouldn't get attached, but Kol was like a drug he kept on craving, and his focus when he needed it.

"Bet you say that to all the demons." With Kol across his lap like this, Crowley was pretty much pinned down, but that didn't stop him from reaching to kiss Kol, his turn to go for the neck, teasing the skin with his teeth, though not quite giving the vampire the harsh bite he liked, not yet. His hands went to Kol's hips, holding him in place, pressed closely to Crowley, refusing to let him go.

"Oh, I do. I really, really do," he assured emphatically. "And that's kind of the problem, see, because you're too close," his tone was lighter than the actual weight of his words, trying to find a balance because he wasn't trying to screw this up, but he felt it it had to be said. He licked his lips, less of a sexual action just then and one made in sync with his nerves, "Thing is...I don't mind it.... and that kinda scares me." Probably the most honest and vulnerable set of words that had ever passed the vampire's lips, and somehow he was okay with it, okay with admitting that to the demon.

"No," he shook his head, "just one." Eyes slipped shut as Crowley's mouth found his again and he pressed into the kiss, rolled his head to the side to give the demon easier access to his neck when he switched gears. Kol's hips rolled against Crowley's at the light teasing of teeth on his next and the pout could literally be heard in his voice when he spoke, "Don't be a tease."

The tone was light, but Crowley could recognize how serious the words were. He could because he felt it himself. All of it, the feeling too close, the feeling okay with it, and the scared. "Pretty much, yeah." His voice was lower than normal, and he looked up at Kol, feeling weirdly vulnerable and not just because he was pinned to a chair by a vampire. He didn't need to point out how close Kol was to him, he had just given him his bones after all. "Can't say I mind it either, and I don't know what to make of that."

And he couldn't help it, he was smug as hell that of all the demons, he was the one with the sexiest of the Original vampires sitting on top of him. "Maybe I like teasing you." He half laughed before the spund became a groan at the way Kol rolled his hips, pressing up with his own, before he practically yanked Kol down. "Since you asked so nicely." He bit down just at where Kol's neck met his shoulder, harshly enough to break the skin slightly, and actually tearing Kol's shirt in the process. Oh well, he'd get him a new one. Definitely worth it.

The quieter tone didn't go unnoticed and it actually kind of made Kol relax a bit more. "Well," he half-shrugged a bit, "least it's not just me." That was more of a comfort than he knew how to properly express in words. "It's all very weird and different and confusing."

"I do so try to have manners from time to ti-" he was cut off mid-sentence, his words faded into a moan as Crowley bit into his neck, his body arching against the other's in nothing short of absolute approval.

It very definitely was not just Kol. Crowley felt just as confused by the whole thing, that somehow he was in an actual relationship and it was weirdly functional and had gone beyond just being sex. He wasn't sure how to define what it was, and he was frankly a little afraid to try, but it did help to know that Kol was just as confused.

The way Kol's words were cut off made him laugh, the sound completely muffled by his mouth over the vampire's neck, as he bit down harder, sucking against the skin. Yes, he knew that Kol's healing abilities would mean anything would fade quickly, but it still made him smug to know that even just for a moment, his vampire would be wearing his mark.

Plus, the way Kol's body arched against him made him moan with approval too, actually deciding to completely rip off the already torn shirt, because shirtless Kol was just too good to pass up. Faint drops of blood welled up under Crowley's teeth and he licked them away, relishing in the taste.
