The near nonchalant tone tagging along with the demon's words didn't quite match the weight of them and it threw Kol off a bit. Okay, so maybe they'd always sort of been this way, saying things without saying them, admitting things without actually giving anything away, but this was different. This was Crowley's life literally in his hands. And as many things as he wanted to say, only a single word even managed to make it out of his mouth. "Why?" No judgment, no disregard for what he'd just been presented, just confusion and curiosity.
