Well this was new. Normally she had a bit of fight in her when she decided to be argumentitive. Or the resigned sadness, the one that said he had taken everything from her again and why should she fight, at least she wasn't him. Why would she not want him there? "Well perhaps it's Elijah you'd rather talk to, he's the one that stood in that circle and called you back. Or Kol. Why on earth would you ever want to talk to the one you jumped in that bloody cage for."

He still didn't know why she'd done it. And he wanted to know. It made so little sense to him, she'd pushed him out of the way and lost her footing, and even an Original vampire had no chance against the power of that thing. It had dragged her in to who knew what, and she'd done it for him.

"I mostly want to know why. And why you think I'm here to hurt you. You've done nothing lately to deserve it. And truth be told Rebekah, I've missed you. Its not been the same. And you're the one, the one of all of them that I think I hated to lose the most. So come now sister, we'll go home, we'll talk about things. I believe we're overdue."

Oh now that was more of a typical Niklaus. Being dramatic, being self centered, making it all about him, as per usual. Rebekah actually rolled her eyes at the entire thing. Wasn't that just always the way with him, finding out how something was his giant trauma to mope about. "What makes you sure I want to talk to them either? But of course, everything is a giant conspiracy against you, as usual. Always is, isn't it."

It was getting old. This repeated drama, this endless cycle.

"Why, what? Why you'd hurt me, well, it's kind of your thing, isn't it. Precedent for it and everything." Because at the end of this day, every time, it was him who did it. Him that killed her, while the others stood around and watched, and laughed. She could remember every single day of it vividly, though the crushing pain she had once felt by it all no longer meant anything to her.

And she didn't want it to. Couldn't afford to let it.

And he would know, damn him and his infuriating ways, the way he knew her. He would see the worst in her, the worst of her, and Kol, Kol wherever he was, he would see she was not the best of herself. Elijah, now, he would fuss and worry and try to protect her, but would be more likely to buy her excuses, it was the other two she needed to avoid. Because if they knew, if they ever worked it out, she would be done for. They would do to her what they did to Kol, force her emotions back on, force her to deal with this.

It left her only one option.

"I'm not going anywhere with you."

Now that was interesting. She seemed to be relitively sane which he supposed was a start and she was complaining at him about every little thing. Also not entirely shocking. It was unfortunate that she'd decided to take it out on him though given why she'd fallen in to hell perhaps it made sense. He had actually been willing to concede thanks to her, tell her he was glad she was back, and he was. More than he cared to admit he'd missed her. One generally shouldn't play favourites with siblings but Rebekah was perhaps that to him. Of course there was Henrik, but even thinking about him brought back all manner of things he relaly didn't want to think about.

"You think I'm going to hurt you. Now, right when you've been pulled from the pits of hell you think I'd hurt you. Have you done something in the scant minutes you've been back to warrent my anger?"

It was probably sad that that was how he thought, but it was. It was justified when he was angry, when he was wronged. A thousand years had made him this way and it seemed Rebekah had finally lost patience.

"You are. You're coming back to the house with me. There are things you need to know that I am not telling you in a dammed graveyard. I'm asking you. Come on now"

But of course, any time he lashed out, it was always someone elses fault. It might have been sad, that all the times the Cage had made her live this day, over and over, Niklaus had never been happy to see her. Never been grateful for what she did. But then he never was, not ever. Rebekah had spent a thousand years trying to get his love, to be valued by him, and failing every time. He didn't love her. He wasn't capable of it. And now she could see it, clear as day. Never before had she flipped the switch. Oh, people might think she had, the bitch queen that she was capable of being, who had committed acts of manipulation and cruelty, but every time they had been emotionally driven. Sometimes by her pettiness, her anger, but always emotions.

Now, none of that mattered. And she could look at her brother with utter dispassion. He wasn't worth all that effort, all that pain. Even now, even after she had gone to Hell for him, he couldn't even offer kindness.

"The great hybrid, who can do no wrong," she murmured, looking at him as though seeing him for the first time. "Who only dishes out pain and punishment when all of us so beneath you deserve it." It was pathetic really. If she were still capable of it, Rebekah wondered if she might pity him.

"I don't follow your orders any more, I don't follow you. I'm leaving." And with that, she turned her back on him, a couple of steps at a normal speed before she gathered the strength to whisk off at full vampire pace. Yes, he could probably catch her, if he wanted, definitely track her. But she was counting on him being too surprised that she had actually defied him to follow her.
