Who: Chloe Sullivan and Oliver Queen
What: Nightmares and talking
When: Friday night
Where: His room
Warnings: Definitely violence, possibly triggering/gory and definitely, you guessed it, angst.
Status: In progress

She pushed him against the wall and grinned as he stared at her with wide eyes full of fear. A knife showed up in her hand and she lifted it, running it slowly along his cheek as she watched a thin line of blood following the blade down to his jaw, "now comes the fun part, Ollie." She murmured, leaning over and licking the fresh blood from his skin before she ripped his shirt open with the blade in one quick movement.

"It's a shame we couldn't have fun together before it came to this." She told him and Chloe screamed at her to stop, but no voice would come out of her mouth, it felt like her hands were tied and her mouth was gagged as she watched the knife being pushed against his torso, a long cut appearing all the way down to his stomach. She screamed louder, tried to free herself. She called his name but still no sound. She had to help him, but blood was spilling out of him freely now, so much of it. She tried to cry, tried to call out for Clark, but all she could do was stand there and watch as she killed him with her own hands.

She twisted and turned on the bed, her hands tangling up on the sheets, "-llie," she murmured, shaking her head as she dreamed, "no."

Chloe gasped awake and sat up, her eyes wide as she blinked them several times, looking around for a moment until she turned to focus on him. She stared at his face then down at his bare stomach and lifted a hand to it, touching it and swallowing hard before taking a deep breath to calm herself down.

She took a deep breath and dropped her hand from him, focusing on his face once more, "sorry." She breathed, pursing her lips together, "did I wake you?"

He watched her, wondering what was going through her mind as she slid her hand lightly over his stomach, then moved it away once more, apologizing. He gazed at her in the darkness of the room for a moment, then reached out and turned on the lamp next to his bedside. "No apologies necessary. And no, I wasn't asleep, so nothing to worry about."

Oliver waited for a moment, and when she didn't say anything, he hesitantly reached out and touched her arm. "Are you all right?" Clearly she'd had some kind of nightmare.

She squinted a little at the sudden light but welcomed it regardless, it made it easier for her to see and make sure he was still in one piece. Aside from the real injuries anyway. She gazed down at his torso for a moment longer, then nodded slightly. "Yeah." She whispered quietly, glancing up at him a moment later. "I'm okay."

She watched him for a second, "are you okay? Why weren't you asleep?"

"Ah, you first," he told her, arching his eyebrows. He shifted slightly so he was propped up on his left arm. He didn't put any pressure on his hand, but it made it easier to see her, and more comfortable for him to rest while doing so.

"What were you dreaming about?" If he had to take a guess, he was pretty sure he already knew the answer. It didn't mean, however, that he didn't hope he was wrong.

"Don't hurt yourself," she told him with a frown, shifting closer and reaching for his pillows and pulled them up behind him so he could lean back against them instead of supporting himself on his arm. Besides, doing that helped her try to think of how to answer him.

But she was determined not to lie, and not to keep the truth from him either like she had twice now because she was afraid. "Nightmare." She breathed, looking down and considering for a moment, "about... what I saw. In it's head." She murmured, glancing over at him.

He wanted to tell her that she was worrying too much, but he didn't want to sound like he was scolding her. He chewed the inside of his cheek for a moment, keeping his eyes on her. "What did you see?" he asked quietly, shifting a little closer to her and resisting the urge to reach out to her again. He wasn't sure if it would help or just make things worse.

She took a deep breath, opening her mouth to speak but closing it again. Just because she was determined to tell him, it didn't mean she had to give him nightmares too. And she definitely didn't want him to feel guilty somehow, because she knew he had the tendency to do that.

Still, just talking about this made her unsettled. "What it wanted to do to you." She pursed her lips together, glancing at him and shaking her head, "what... it was planning-- how it wanted to--" She trailed off, she didn't think he needed the full sentence to get it.

"How it wanted to kill me," he finished, searching her eyes and nodding a little. He was quiet for a moment and he reached out and laid his hand atop hers, rubbing his thumb lightly over her knuckles. "Look." His voice was quiet. "It didn't get what it wanted. It's back in Hell."

Oliver studied her. "I don't want you to keep tormenting yourself about what happened. It could have happened to any of us." He chewed the inside of his cheek. "You've got the tattoo now, so you don't have to worry about it happening again. But I do think you should go to Bobby's camp." Sure, he'd been going over what Bobby had taught them, but he was still new at this, and it was better she learn it from someone who'd been dealing with all things demon-related for years.

"Maybe it will even help with the nightmares," he added. Although frankly, it could just as easily make them worse.

Chloe sighed softly and shook her head, "I'm not tormenting myself about it," she told him, it wasn't easy to forget what it had made her see even though she was trying her best to block it all out because she didn't want to relieve it ever again.

"I will look into going next time he's offering them," she nodded, looking down at their hands and wrapping her fingers around him as she chewed on the inside of her mouth, "but I do need to talk to you about the things it said, because even though it distorted it, there was some truth in there." She whispered. Coming clean with him and not having that to add on to the guilt was probably the one thing she thought would really help her.

He nodded slightly, relieved to hear she was planning to go to one of Bobby's camps in the near future. He looked down at their hands for a moment, forcing himself to take a deep breath and then laid back against the pillows. "Yeah, I know there was." He chewed the inside of his cheek for a moment and then exhaled slowly.

He looked up at the ceiling, his body more tense than it had been. "All right. Let me have it," he told her.

Chloe watched him for a long moment then took a deep breath, nodding slightly as she shifted on the bed to face him, keeping her fingers wrapped around his hand as she rested their hands on her lap. "The part about me being ashamed of you, of wanting to keep things a secret couldn't be farther from the truth." She begun, choosing the easy part to start with.

"I have always admired you for everything you do, and honestly I never considered this would happen because I never thought you'd see me like this." She pursed her lips together, "even after we started getting closer and even after what I had read right after I got here."

She glanced up at him, "I googled myself, obviously. And when I did, instead of Chloe Sullivan, it said Chloe Sullivan-Queen. I didn't read anything else on me after that because I didn't want to create expectations or to see you in a different way if I didn't think it'd ever happen."

Once she began talking, he glanced at her sideways, pursing his lips as he listened, his chest tightening ever-so-slightly when she mentioned she'd always admired him. He could vividly remember a time when she most certainly didn't, but this Chloe hadn't lived through that time period, even though he'd told her about it. He couldn't imagine she was anymore impressed with that than her older self had been.

So she'd known about the future since she'd gotten there. That had been a long time to hold that kind of secret to herself. Except he knew it wasn't just to herself. He was almost positive that Lois knew, too.

"And the part about our son?" he couldn't help but ask, not looking at her. "Lois is the one who found that out and you figured it out from there?"

"Yeah," she admitted in a whisper, watching him now that he wasn't looking at her. "She found out about it that night she was talking about a nephew and although I didn't look anything else up, she knew he was yours."

Chloe sighed softly and shook her head, "I didn't want to bring any of this up to you because I didn't want you to feel like you had to do something about it, about us being together. And I didn't want you to think I had expectations."

She hesitated a little, "but after you found out about my power, when I asked you to not let anything that happened here get in the way of you and other me if you got sent back home? This is why I said that."

At that, he turned to face her again, studying her for a long moment. "So it's not because you're afraid of whatever's going on between us? Or that you're ashamed to be with me because of my rather colorful past? Because I know I've done some pretty bad things."

He swallowed hard, dropping his gaze once more and looking at their hands. "As for that part, about getting sent back..." He paused for a moment. "While most of the time I don't want to get sent back, part of me is worried about other you. And how you're doing. And how things with Zod and his people are going. I can't help but wonder if being here is really doing anything for anyone."

"No, it's not." She told him, sighing softly and squeezing his hand, "I don't care about your past or the things you told me you've done. I care about the person I know and all the amazing things I know you do now." She said quietly, "and the only reason I wanted to keep us a secret for now was because I wanted to tell you about our possible future because it didn't feel right to hide that from you. I was just afraid it might change things between us if you found out because I know it could be pretty overwhelming."

She pursed her lips together and nodded, "I worry about that too, especially with everything you told me about Doomsday. But we have no control over when we come and go."
