WHO: Anyone involved in saving Ruby & NPC!hunters
WHAT: HUNTERS VS LAWRENCE'S TEAM OF MISFITS TOYS
WHERE: Some building. They are in it!
RATING: V for Violence!
NOTES: Subthread as needed, folks!
They had taken his wife. Picked her up right off the streets, straight out of their own neighborhood, like she was some kind of animal that they could drag off and cage up at their pleasure. There were plenty of things that got under Sam Winchester's skin, he wasn't gonna lie, but anything and anyone that thought they could walk into his home and snatch up what he loved the most pissed him off just enough to top everything else. It was enough to make everything go to hell -- it was enough to make Sam want to make everything go to hell, because with the amount of raw fury that he was feeling now, Sam knew that he was going to turn every rule he had been for following upside down, inside out, and then some in the process of finding and rescuing his wife from the people that he once considered his allies. Trustworthy? Not always. Hunters weren't built that way. Reliable when it came to the idea of us versus them? Always. Until lately, that was. Between Sam and Ruby being attacked by them, he and Dean getting gunned down, and now this, Sam was having a really hard time seeing matters from their perspective. Once upon a time, he had tried. He'd tell everyone that they were right to hunt him. That he was a monster and that, because of all he had started with the apocalypse, he knew that he would have taken to hunting himself, too, if he were in their shoes. And while most of that still rang true, deep down on the inside, Sam found he couldn't stand for it anymore. First they had killed Dean, now they were trying to do the same to his wife. His wife. Ruby.
Even though Sam had turned to his resources for help at finding Ruby, in the end the hunters themselves were the ones to show him the way. They had Ruby's phone. They knew he was looking for her. All they had to do was type in a batch of coordinates and send them Sam's way. They wanted him to come. They wanted to kill him, because they thought that he had done the same to Roy and Walt when they had come looking for he and Dean. He and Ruby, to them, were the biggest monsters on the block bar Lucifer himself. Because they didn't stand a snowballs chance in hell at taking Lucifer down (who did, really?), they were going for something a little more realistic. Sam and Ruby. A freak hunter and his demon.
They underestimated him, though. The freak hunter had friends. Lots of friends. While Sam hadn't blown the battle horn at them all upon figuring out that they had taken Ruby, he had spoken to a few individuals that had held a strong interest in helping.
Which was probably a good thing. Before they had offered, Sam had a mind to go charging in at everyone alone.
He wasn't alone, though. Not now, as he and the others grouped around the building, prepping themselves to go breaking in through it's front doors and charging in at whoever was waiting for them on the other side. It was an old building, with broken windows and faded, peeling paint running along it's outer edges, which made it the perfect place for a gang of hunters to stow themselves away and set up a trap for any who dared challenge them. Sam knew how hunters operated. They'd have a good, solid group set up inside. Weapons. Lots of weapons. Possibly even a few traps set up in case Sam had brought anyone else. So before they walked in, Sam warned them all. They had to watch out for trip wires. Funny looking floorboards. They wouldn't look like much to the average person, but if they managed to step into the wrong place, they'd trigger an explosion or something equally as dangerous. As cold and closed off as Sam had managed to turn within the past couple hours, he didn't wanna see anyone he had dragged into this get hurt. Or worse. A brief warning was issued, the others were left to talk battle tactics, then Sam broke away from the fold and pushed his way through the entrance.
There was no need to be quiet. No need to attempt to sneak up on anyone. They had called for him. They knew he was on his way.
Gun balanced in front of himself, Sam moved inside. He didn't know if the others were following him. Maybe they'd stay outside. Maybe they'd move in and split off in their own separate directions, he didn't know. Part of him didn't really care either. He had to find Ruby. He had to find her, he had to get her out of here, he had to make sure she was alive.
If that meant killing every person in this goddamned building, then so be it.
