Roger wasn't an idiot. He knew, even before he had told Sam in no uncertain terms that he was coming with, that this was dangerous. The people who took Ruby weren't the thugs he was used to beating up. Oh, he had been in plenty of altercations in his past, but he knew that this was beyond that scope. He knew that but he didn't care. Because Ruby was his friend. Ruby was the first person here who had been nice to him and while Roger could be standoffish and a jerk, he did appreciate it. He didn't care that she was a demon. Really, it would be like caring about Angel being a cross dresser or Collins being gay. The fact remained that she wasn't a horrid person and while she might have done things in her past, she was making up for that now. They all had things to make up for, some more than others, but in the end, it came down to what you did with your life.
So really, expecting Roger to just sit back while someone he cared about was in danger was just fucking stupid. He would have gone on his own, really. He didn't have the deep emotional connection to Ruby that Sam did, but Roger was rash and impulsive. Sure, he hid in his apartment half of the time, but he was still rash. And when it came to friends, that quality came out tenfold.
Roger had been silent on the way to the location. He knew he was probably the least prepared for this. He didn't have any special gifts. He had only done the classes at the Complex. But that really wasn't going to stop him and people telling him it wasn't a field trip or bull shit like that really pissed him off more than anything. As if they thought he didn't know what he was getting into. Oh sure, he was a 'hippie' by Freddie's standards, but really? Did people think him that stupid? Still, he would hold his own. He didn't need any fucking babysitters. If he died, well, he died fighting and doing something worthwhile. Of course, the plan was to not die. But he also knew it was a possibility.
Once at the warehouse, Roger's eyes narrowed in concentration. Normally Roger just went in punching, but he wasn't alone for one, and the fact that he'd be fighting Hunters. It was probably a good thing he hadn't told Mark where he was going. He'd deal with his roommate's bitching when he got back. For now, it was sneaking in after Sam and going down another hall.
