Elphaba isn't the wicked witch you're looking for ([info]tothewesternsky) wrote in [info]wariscoming,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:bonnie bennett, caroline forbes, damon salvatore, elena gilbert, elphaba, galinda

Who: Elphie, Caroline, Elena, Damon, Galinda and Bonnie
What: Rescuing Bonnie!
When: Late afternoon February 6, 2011
Where: Place where Bonnie's being held
Rating: R because there will be fighting, death, blood and language. And possibly some other rated R worthy violence.

After having a really long discussion, they finally were ready to get Bonnie. Thanks to her vision, Elphaba had made sure everyone understood what would be waiting for them when they arrived. Bonnie had been kept in a a warded cage, so she was going to expect the place to be either warded or have traps all around it. And in the end, she'd given in to letting Elena and Galinda come with. She knew Galinda could, hopefully, handle herself, it was Elena she was worried about, but she knew the longer they argued, the less chance Bonnie would be alive when she got there. So they'd gotten things in order, armed themselves and headed off to the place. Elphaba had done some more research on the magic in this world, wanting both her and Galinda to be fully prepared to do their best at unraveling any spells and wards they came in contact with.

Elphaba didn't use the charm spell to degreen herself. She didn't want to use it and be on a time schedule of getting out there. And she wanted Bonnie's captors to see her for who she truly was. Though for once, she did not wear her black dress. She wore jeans and a shirt, giving her freedom of movement. Her long dark hair was braided to keep it from getting in her way. Once they reached the place, she glanced at the others, then looked around the perimeter. She didn't see any wards outside, perhaps because they didn't want to tip anyone off about their being there. "I don't see any wards out here, so let's move, but be careful. If you see anything that looks like a ward, tell me and Galinda so we can disable it." She wasn't exactly sure how well she could disable wards, her powers didn't really work that way, and the magic of this world was still something she hadn't figured out yet. But she hoped that Galinda would be able to work that if needed.

Taking a deep breath, Elphaba stepped up to the door and tested the knob, finding that it was open. She opened it carefully and when the room on the other side was dubbed clear of people, she stepped inside, keeping her eyes and ears open. She didn't want to get caught off-guard. The things she saw in the room, however, set off the alarms in her head. There was evidence of black magic. She walked over to a table where there seemed to be the makings of some type of drug. A slight growl came from deep in her throat and she glowered at the stuff. Oh, these witches were going to pay for this.

Caroline was on her way to a breakdown, and if this didn't work, if they lost Bonnie then it was inevitable. She was a bit farther back from her friends as they went into the building. She was keeping an eye out for anything that was out of the ordinary, anything which was strange or would pose a danger to them. Never had she been more grateful to be a vampire than she was in this moment. At least she could use her powers for something now.

She was somewhat surprised Elphaba still trusted her after her outburst at the witches shop. Caroline didn't even trust herself, but that didn't matter right now. All that mattered was Bonnie and getting Bonnie out of this situation.

In all honesty Caroline was furious with the rest of the city, everyone else was at a wedding while Bonnie could be dead. If it was one of their group of course they'd be out looking but no, no it wasn't so they weren't. Caroline had no intentions of helping them next time they needed it, unless her friends were in danger.

Caroline could feel the veins form around her eyes out of anger and frustration, and she took a deep breath trying her best to stay calm - she could vamp out later, if not here then she'd go hunting with Spike after.

Even though she had taken the lead, Elphaba didn't feel like she was leading. From her perspective, she was going first just to keep a lookout for magical traps. She didn't want one of the others to accidentally run into one. Elphaba looked around the room, trying to gauge what to expect in the next room. It was then that she heard some faint voices through the closed door. Could Bonnie be on the other side? It was hard to tell, her vision had only given her details on the room Bonnie was in, not on the rest of the place. But regardless, she knew they would encounter the people holding Bonnie here soon enough.

Just then, Elphaba caught sight of something on a table a couple feet to her left. She walked over and saw an athame laying there. It looked as though it was well used, but well taken care of. Clenching her teeth, she picked it up, holding it tightly in her left hand. She wanted to be armed, even though she had telekinesis. Though sometimes her power was hard to focus on one target, so she'd rather have something else to use. Then there was a noise on the other side of the closed door. Keeping her grip tight on the handle of the athame, she moved closer to the door. She glanced at Galinda, motioning her to stay close to her. The last thing she wanted was for Galinda to get hurt. The blonde witch's power lay more in protection than it did offensive combat, so Elphaba was going to stay close to her, or at the very least make sure all attention was focused on her, Damon and Caroline.

She glanced at the others, motioning to the closed door. The knob turned and the door started opening. Elphaba readied herself, standing about six feet to the left of the door. The fight was about to ensue. She felt her anger rising, but she kept her head about her. For the moment, she remained cool and collected, but the moment the fighting started and her adrenaline got pumping, she'd be little more than a berserker, unleashing all of the rage that had been slowly building over the past week and a half would come flooding out. And then everyone would know who the Wicked Witch of the West really was.

She had been conserving her energy for the past day, not fighting whatever the witches were doing to her. She went with it all, doing her best to keep as much hope and positive energy as she could within her. Bonnie had no idea why she was so certain, but something big was going to happen. Her friends were going to come for her and when they did, she wanted to be ready to help them fight these evil bitches. "Aw, what's wrong, Bonnie? Don't you want to scream for me today?" Abigail asked, crouching down outside of Bonnie's cage, to the level she was curled up on. The older witch trailed her fingers over the bars, clicking her tongue at the younger woman. "You scream so pretty. You'll scream for us when we kill you, won't you?" She cackled, and reached through the bars to grab Bonnie's hair. Abigail forced her face up against the bars with a harsh clang. "Come on, Bon Bon! Scream for me!"

Bonnie held back a whimper, eyes momentarily closing against the pain. But when she opened them, they were bright and shining with defiance. "Fuck you, hag," she said instead, voice hoarse. Then she spit in Abigail's face, smirking triumphantly.

Abigail screeched, letting Bonnie go, who took the opportunity to scuttle back against the far side of the cage and away from Abigail. "I'm going to enjoy draining you," Abigail seethed, standing up as she wiped at her face. "When we peel your skin back from your muscles and drain your energy until you're just a shell, you just remember we gave you a chance to join us."

Bonnie didn't bother with a reply, content to just glare before she closed her eyes. She was going to kill Abigail and Bonnie was sure of that as she was sure of anything. The evil witch huffed and walked off, leaving the room they were keeping Bonnie in. They were in a house just outside of Lawrence that seemed abandoned from the outside, but housed a coven of witches more than occasionally. It was warded with powerful magic, so the second the rescue party arrived, a pulse went through the house to make everyone aware that there was company coming.

When the pulse occurred, Bonnie opened her eyes and smiled. Her friends were here.

Galinda did not like the pulse of energy that happened. Why? Because dumb blond or not, she knew that the pulse alerted the others to their presence. So staying close to Elphie? So not a problem. Not at all. Galinda just wanted to get in, undo the wards and protect the others. That was her entire purpose in this rescue. It had been what was discussed during the meetings on how to save Bonnie. But she didn't like the slowly opening door. It was just so ominous and terrifying. But she wasn't going to show her fear, she couldn't.

One good thing about being petite? When the door opened it was easy for Galinda to slip into the room. True, it meant not staying close to Elphie, but her role was important. There would be fighting and Galinda didn't like that, but she had her mission. Moving to the side so Elphaba could see her through her peripheral vision, the blond gave a slight nod of her head to show her she was moving and once the door was open enough, Galinda slipped in and scanned the room. There was the cage and it made Galinda sick. Just because she and Bonnie didn't get along didn't mean the witch deserved this!

Skirting around the back of the room, Galinda found a safe spot and started to work on the wards. This was a lot harder than she had thought, but she wasn't going to give up. She couldn't. So it was chewing on her lower lip and undoing the complex wards.

Elena wasn't even supernatural, and she could feel the pulse in the air. That was so not good. Stepping closer to Damon without thinking, Elena scanned the area to make sure that there weren't people in the room they were in. Oh, she heard the voices on the other side of the door. Saw the door knob turn, but she wanted to make sure they were alone in this room so that they weren't completely ambushed. Because that would suck. A lot. There was only so much the group could do after all. But she wasn't going to think defeatist thoughts. They were going to get Bonnie and everything would be fine.

And the door was open and Galinda had slipped in. Phase one of rescuing Bonnie was now complete. Once their friend was out, they would have more fighting power. Because if Elena were to be honest with herself, the gun felt foreign in her hand, heavy and light all at once, awkward. There was a reason she didn't want to use it. Because she hadn't gotten a chance to actually practice with it. She knew the basics, had used the different tools Alaric had but each one was different and the small gun she had was no different.

It was situations like this one that made Damon want to tag Elena with one of those ankle bracelets they put on people under house arrest. He felt like tossing her over his shoulder and taking her home, but the last thing he wanted was to screw up the rescue efforts. Correction, the last thing he wanted was for Elena to wind up hurt and he knew that she would never forgive him for inadvertently causing the death of her best friend. All he could do at the moment was keep an eye on her, keep her safe by his side.

Damon faced Elena, holding a finger to his lips to indicate that she should be as quiet as she possibly could. Stealthily, Damon slipped in after Galinda. He would have much rather liked to burst in and rip the other witches to shreds. It was just in his nature. Seeing Bonnie in the state she was in made him want to resort to violence even more. It took every fiber of strength to keep to the plan.

Caroline was starting to get impatient. She had never been patient when she had been human, and it was one trait which would probably never change. She hated waiting especially now. Really, the witches - the bitches, knew they were all here now, why couldn't they just storm in?

No, she tried to think like her mother - a cop. Storming in might mean they'd move Bonnie or hurt her more. They had to do this the way they had planned.

Her teeth hurt, and her head was throbbing. If this had been any other situation she would have been terrified. But right now she wasn't, because right now was different. Right now she could be a monster, she could give into the voices at the back of her head and it would be okay. Besides these people, they deserved it. They deserved what they were going to get tonight.

Holding her ground, Elphaba saw Galinda give her the nod and she gave one in return, letting the blonde know she got the message. Now she only hoped that the witches would be drawn into this room so that Galinda could get the wards undone. She hated that Galinda wasn't going to be in her line of sight, but at least Damon had followed after her. Elphaba was still uncertain about Damon, mostly since she didn't know him well, but he was on their side and she would trust him to make sure no one hurt Galinda or Bonnie while the rest of them took on their part of the bargain.

Once the witch had come into the room, Elphaba threw her arms out in front of her, effectively shoving the witch off of her feet. For once, she'd been able to focus her telekinesis onto a single target. She hoped the noise that came from the witch hitting the floor and knocking some things over would draw others to them. Now it would be a free-for-all and Elphaba would more than rise to the occasion. Glancing over at Elena and Caroline, she gave them a nod, signaling them to do what they had to do.

"You are all going to pay for this!" Elphaba announced, charging at the witch she'd knocked down.

And the witches all seemed to rush out to where the other four, wait, no, three as Damon had followed her, were waiting. Oh, she hoped that they were okay. Galinda didn't know what she would do if she lost any of them. Especially Elphie. Elphie was her everything. But she couldn't focus on that at the moment. Right now it was wards.

"Come on you stupid things...." The comment was grumbled to herself in annoyance before Galinda felt something strike her back. Crying out in pain and shock, she fell back and looked at her assailant. Well, that wasn't nice! So Galinda did the only thing she could think of, she pointed her wand at the bitch and stuck them in an immovable bubble. And it wasn't the usual protection bubbles she used. It was just a bubble to keep the woman from attacking her again.

That done, Galinda looked to where Bonnie was.

"I'm going to get you out." And it was back to undoing the wards. At least it was working even if it was taking more time than initially anticipated.

Seeing Damon place a finger to his lips to keep her quiet, Elena gave a small nod and watched as he ran in to help Galinda. Good. The blond would be distracted in her work and need the help. And it kept Damon from hovering over her and not letting her fight. But then there was a multitude of coven witches coming out at them and it was time to fight.

Seeing one of the witches coming towards her, Elena let go of the gun, and closed the bag, swinging it and hitting the woman in the head. She would stick with self defense moves for now and use the weapons as a last resort. That was what weapons were for, anyway. Being a last resort. But then she heard Galinda's cry of pain and shot a worried look to Elphaba. Hopefully the blond was okay.

Moving to the other room quickly to check, Elena blinked at the bubblified witch. That... made so much sense. But no matter. Hearing a cry of victory, Elena raced to the cage and opened it, grabbing Bonnie's hand to get her out. With her best friend out, the brunette looked around and her eyes grew wide as she saw one of the witches advancing on Damon, fire in hand. Oh hell no. She wasn't losing anyone.

Fumbling in her bag, Elena grabbed the gun and shot, eyes growing wide as she shot the witch through the head, the body collapsing to the ground. She'd been aiming for the shoulder, not the head... But then she was grabbed from behind and the gun was knocked towards Bonnie and Elena struggled and grabbed the knife, jabbing it into the body behind her. She was going to have bruises from this, but that was nothing compared to what Bonnie must have endured.

Bonnie hadn't expected to see Galinda there. They had some much weirdness between them, with Galinda's preemptive strike against Bonnie's friendship with Elphaba and then Bonnie acting like a total bitch to Galinda when they had been inflicted with sins, that they just tended to steer clear of each other with the understanding that neither one was going anywhere.

The younger witch had been good with that. But she hadn't expected to see the blonde there with her friends, trying to rescue her.

Bonnie vowed to put whatever it was that was going on between them, behind her the second Galinda spoke to her. "Let me help," Bonnie said, getting to her knees and crawling over to where Galinda was. "Give me your hands." Bonnie didn't have a lot of strength left, but whatever she had conserved, she intended to give Galinda.

The moment the fighting started, Caroline's fangs were out. This was no time to hold back and worry about being a good vampire. Screw everything that Stefan had told her about control back home, this was not a place for control.

A witch was standing a few feet away, when she saw the fangs she smirked and laughed. Caroline didn't give her a chance to say anything, in a flash Caroline was on her, grabbing the woman by the neck. She could have snapped it, it probably would have been easier. But Caroline wasn't going for easy right now. She was angry, she wanted to make these women pay for what they did. She wanted them to hurt right before they die.

So without a second though, Caroline bit the woman's neck and began to drink. It didn't take long for her to die, and when she did Caroline let go of her and body sank down to ground like a rag doll.

As Elphaba closed in on the witch she'd thrown to the ground, her anger was still rising. The athame was still clutched tightly in her hand, but instead of delivering a killing blow, she sank the blade into the witch's shoulder, causing the woman to scream in pain. Elphaba laughed, a cold, harsh laugh. "You don't like how that feels? Oh, too bad. It's the least you've got coming to you for what you've done to my friend!" She jerked the athame out of the witch and was about to deliver another blow when she heard a cry of pain. She didn't need to ask who it was, she recognized the pitch. Elphaba froze in place and for a few moments, and everything stopped. She didn't notice the look Elena gave her or that the brunette ran into the other room. She didn't notice the witch at her feet scrambling away from her, hand pressed over her open wound. "Galinda!!" Elphaba cried, then her anger surged out of her like blood from a severed artery.

Spinning on her heel, Elphaba left the wounded witch behind her and she ran into the other room to get to Galinda's aid. By the time she got there, she saw the blonde witch had put a bubble around her attacker. Elphaba snarled and ran at the witch, rendered immobilized by the bubble. The athame sank into the witch's prone stomach, the blade driving in as far as it could. Elphaba glared harshly into the woman's eyes, which were wide with pain and fear. It wasn't clear whether this was a reaction to having been gutted or to the fact her attacker had green skin. Either way, Elphaba didn't care. The bitch was going to die for what she'd done to Bonnie and for trying to hurt Galinda. Jerking the knife out of the witch's stomach, Elphaba couldn't help but feel the urge to savor this. She thrusted the athame into another area of the woman's stomach, eliciting another scream of pain from her. This time when she pulled the athame back, the woman fell to her knees. Elphaba grabbed a fist full of her hair and jerked her head back so she was looking up at her.

"Are you afraid of me? If not, you should be." Elphaba leaned closer to her, looking the woman dead in the eye. "I am the Wicked Witch of the West." Her tone was a dangerous one, completely cold and uncaring about the life she was about to take. With that, Elphaba plunged the athame deep into the witch's blackened heart. She let go of the woman's hair, pulled the athame out of her, and watched as she slumped to the floor, her blood draining from her. Elphaba was breathing a bit heavily due to the adrenaline pumping through her veins. She was trembling slightly, also an effect of the adrenaline. This was the point of no return.

After a moment, she looked at Galinda. At that moment, she looked nothing like the Elphaba the blonde knew. There was nothing but cold rage etched into her features. She had the blood of two different people on her, one of them now dead by her own hand. Now more than ever she was the Wicked Witch of the West. She then turned around, not wanting to keep her back to the fighting any longer. It was then that she saw Bonnie kill Abigail. Ephaba didn't even flinch, she only stood there like a bloodied green and red wall between the remaining witches and Galinda.

Galinda was exhausted. It had taken so much energy to undo the wards, that she had barely noticed Bonnie helping her. But then Elphaba was in there and... killing the woman in the bubble. And seeming to enjoy it. Eyes growing wide the blond couldn't look away. It was... terrifying. And she didn't like thinking that about her best friend. This was Elphie. She couldn't be afraid of her! Could she? Well, apparently she could be.

Swallowing as Elphaba looked at her, Galinda just blinked. Maybe passing out would be a good idea. She couldn't see straight, she felt hot and cold. She was stressed and didn't handle stress well. Yes, passing out sounded great. Whimpering some, the blond collapsed forward, wand rolling out of her hand, blond curls splayed over her face. It was safer this way. Everyone had killed, everyone but her. She didn't know how to cope.

Elphaba looked around, checking to see if there were anymore witches coming at her. But the whimper from behind her caught her attention. Elphaba turned around and saw Galinda passed out. Her eyes flew wide and she instantly dropped the athame, letting it clatter to the floor. "Galinda!" She was mostly snapped out of the dark mindset she had been in just moments before. She knelt down and reached out to pull her unconscious friend into her arms when she noticed the blood all over her hands. She froze, staring at them for several moments before she reached over and used a clean part of the dead witch's clothes to wipe her hands off on. After all, she didn't want to get the blood on Galinda, and the sight of it on her hands traumatized her.

Now with the blood off her hands, she picked Galinda up and cradled her close, the blonde witch's head resting against her chest. "I'm so sorry...I never wanted you to see that," she whispered gently, stroking the blonde's hair and pressing a soft kiss to Galinda's head. She closed her eyes tightly, inwardly feeling so mortified that she'd killed someone and done so right in front of her best friend. Several thoughts screamed through her mind, but she pushed them all away and opened her eyes, looking over at the unconscious Bonnie.

"We need to get out of here. And make sure there's no survivors. Or at least make sure they won't tell anyone what happened here." She looked over at Damon, then to Elena and Bonnie. It would all be okay. Bonnie was back where she belonged. For once, Elphaba's power had allowed them to save someone. Something good had finally come from her powers. But there had also been bad. She had killed, as had everyone else except Galinda. She hoped that they would all be able to get through the bad that had happened here and grow stronger.
