Entry tags:clark kent, dick grayson/nightwing, ron weasley

Who: Clark, Nightwing, Ron (and a few npc civilians!)
What: rescue.
When: 25 minutes after the post, just like Dick promised.
Where: not far away from Mcdonalds.
Warnings: TBA! demons, npc on npc violence? idk.

Dick was exhausted. He was running on very little sleep and even less food for fuel. It'd been a few days since they were invaded and he was locked out of the complex. Needless to say he wasn't getting very much sleep out in the open when the city was breaking out into riots and panicking. He desperately wanted a shower and sleep, but there wasn't time. He'd only gotten maybe 6 hours for the few days he'd been holed up on his rooftop away from the foot traffic, keeping an eye on the city below. When Clark had arrived he'd done the Latin, and was waiting wearing his Kevlar suit. Between the two of them it wasn't going to take very long long to get to Ron's McDonalds, which was a good thing. DIck didn't have much energy left, he had just enough to appear professional under pressure, and get Ron and the civilians out of a jam. Then he would be crashing for at least a good couple hours. He really hoped it didn't go on long.

He watched the Mcdonalds from the neighboring roftop and pulled out a pair of binoculars. He knew Clark could zoom in on everything, but Dick needed to see for himself so he could make a plan of attack. He was next to silent aside from a few directions of how he wanted to do things, it was obvious Dick was experienced in tactics. He spotted at least six gunmen outside the McDonalds that Ron had described. Armed and attentive looking for the slightest movement. Dick didn't hardly make any, he was used to tense gun situations. "If you want to take out the guns outside, I can get in through the roof and create a distraction. " He was good at those, of course he had no idea what he was going to do past the getting in, but he was also a master of thinking on the fly. He was creative and it paid off in the field. Especially now.

Dick could have taken out the gunmen himself, but he had Clark there. Why not utilize it? He could save some energy at least. He hoped this wasn't the apocalypse, he really did. He'd been through a couple of those already, but this one had demons. He couldn't be possessed again, and if it was the end, would his tattoo really work? While it was proving to be a sufficient distraction from unwanted memories and nightmares, he would rather live with them for the rest of his life every night then face the end of the world as they knew it.

Ron didn't know how they were going to get out of this thing in one piece with all those demons scampering in through the broken window. That wasn't to say that he wasn't going to try doing all he could to ensure that they did, but Ron was a skeptic at heart. When he saw something bad, he got all negative and thought the worst was going to happen, even though his heart demanded that he do something to prevent it from doing so. Wand tightly focused on keeping the injured man afloat, Ron desperately looked over at Nightwing. Where was the bloody signal? What was he waiting for - the demons to decide that they didn't want to maul them to death after all? Blue eyes fixed on the shattered window, Ron shifted his wand from one hand to the other. Taking aim, he fired a stunning spell at the first demon that he could get a proper fix on. It wasn't as strong as it could have been, even with his magic being a bit off against enemies in this wacky universe, but it made the demon stumble a bit. That'd buy them some kind of time, right?

Clark was going to make sure that they had all the time that they needed. Breaking a ladder down from a wall it had been welded to along the side of an alleyway, Clark wrapped the steel around the demon that he had captured, shoved it back into the wall, and used his heat vision to glue the ladder down. The demon was stuck. Unless it tried to escape the body it was possessing, it wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Satisfied with that at least, Clark turned and took off at a run toward the McDonalds. One second he had been standing halfway down the street with his captured demon, less than half a second later Clark was at the broken window, scaring the offending demons back with intimidating blasts from his heat vision. He didn't strike any of them - Clark was aiming for the pavement - but the heat vision had clearly taken them all by surprise. Most of them were running back. The few who dared to linger behind tried to shoot at him with their guns, but they weren't effective. The bullets simply bounced right off him. "Thought I'd rival some of that heat with a little of my own," Clark said, voice coming in through the comms. "Be careful. I think I saw one or two get in before I got to the window."
