WHO: All characters involved with the former thread!
WHAT: Demons attack!
WHEN: Evening; after the demons show up here.
WHERE: Lawrence, Kansas.
RATING: Definite violence. Language is also a given.
NOTES: Part two of the plot! All efforts at fending the demons off will go here. Each team should post in a subthread with a limit of SEVEN demons to take care of distributed between each group so that, eventually, there will be an end to the attack! Your characters can trap them, drive them off, and/or if they have the appropriate materials and company, even exorcise them. Have at it!

"Close off the lobby! Now!"

The bodies of the three exorcised demons lay scattered across the front entrance. Nodding off to the boy that Sam thought to be Ron Weasley, Sam motioned for him to find some way to drag the bodies out of the way so that they could appropriately set up protections for what was bound to come at them. The demons had said it themselves: they were trapped. They had nowhere to run. They were coming.

With limited supplies on hand, it was painfully obvious that they couldn't secure the whole building down. There wasn't enough time. However, if they rationed out their portions carefully, there would be more than enough rock salt to block off the beginnings of the building. They'd just have to trap themselves into the front while they worked on appropriate ways to dispose of the demons headed their way. Scattering the supplies out with rushed orders based on what to do with what and where to put it, everyone began to set to work in a panic stricken frenzy. Some seemed confused. Others? Determined. And Sam had no doubt that every person there, including himself, happened to be scared.

But that was war. And right now? They were in the middle of what Sam believed to be the beginning of many of the battles that were to come.

The jeers and howls quickly came from the exterior of the building. The demons were standing outside. Taunting. Waiting. Banging on doors and windows, desperate and eager to get in all at once. The scene was a familiar one. They were trapped, they had no supplies save for what they had been able to grab from the Impala, and they were outnumbered.

Acting quickly seemed like it was going to play key to their survival. With a bag of salt in hand, Sam dashed up to the front entrance and began to throw it down at the doors. He had nearly gotten all the way across before the door that he had been working at burst open and the salt that he'd been working at throwing down was flung from his hands. A man with black eyes immediately charged his way into the room, looking absolutely gleeful that he had beat Sam out to sealing him and his buddies from the building. Others were quick to break their way inside, soon leaving everyone within the building with no choice but to up and defend themselves.

Sam/Ruby - Holy water!

She knew she would have been happier at the protection he was granting her, what it meant for him to do it, what it meant for them. How much it said about how changed he was. But mostly. It burned. She buried herself as much into him as she could, every inch of her screaming to just leave the body, to give up and get out because anything would be better than this.

Her eyes hadn't shifted back since this had started, still black, still those of a demon, she didn't have the energy to do it even if she'd been thinking it properly. It felt like hours. The other demons fleeing in terror or being caught by the distraction the water provided and summerily exorcised, it felt like hours, days. And she knew nothing but Sam, and the water.

Until suddenly it stopped as quickly as it started, and though her clothes and his were soaking, still stinging she finally looked up at him eyes still black, and desperatly wanted to kiss him for what he'd done for her. Instead she cast her eyes from Sam toward his brother before looking back at Sam still more than a little shaky, her voice definitely so. "I think I should leave now"

Sam/Ruby - Holy water!

Relief flooded through him when the sprinkler system finally gave up. The sounds of people scuffling around behind him were barely phased as Sam lightly leaned his head back to look down at the demon in his arms. He wanted to ask her if she was all right. If there was anything that he could do to make it better. But there was nothing that could really be done for it. The body was undamaged. It was all the demon on the inside that had been harmed and Sam couldn't quite reach that. Not right now.

His hands slid up the sides of her arms and eventually found each side of her face. Forcing her to look up at him, Sam stared into those black eyes cautiously for the longest while before he decided to speak. "I've got a jacket in the front seat," he told her quietly, "get rid of those clothes and put that on until you get home." He pushed some of her dampened hair from her face, still curiously staring at the demonic side of herself that he rarely got to see in full force. It freaked him out, normally. Right now Sam was so worried about her that he found he didn't care. After giving her another long moment, Sam stepped away from Ruby and gave her room to get by. He was wary about letting her go. The sprinklers could have gone off again or the demons could have been waiting for them on the outside. But Ruby, as much as he wanted to protest it, was a big girl. And he knew that was the argument that he'd hear if he did anything else but let her go.

"Be careful," he warned.

It was when his hands were on her face, holding her, his eyes finding the demonic black that Ruby realised three things. One, she had never loved him more. Two, the room would potentially have seen what he'd done for her, how tight he'd held her, how close and familiar he was being with her now and three, This was a point in her favor over Dean. Hard won and accidental, and not worth it in the slightest but it was.

"I'll get the jacket. Thanks" she told him, lifting her hand and just for a moment putting her fingers to her lips before running them across his, finally calm enough that her eyes changed back to human. Before taking the oppertunity to leave the apartments with a glare at Dean as she went.

It had stung like a bitch, hurt deeper than anything since Alastair's razor, but it had had its uses, everything did if you knew what to do with it.
