WHO: All characters involved with the former thread!
WHAT: Demons attack!
WHEN: Evening; after the demons show up here.
WHERE: Lawrence, Kansas.
RATING: Definite violence. Language is also a given.
NOTES: Part two of the plot! All efforts at fending the demons off will go here. Each team should post in a subthread with a limit of SEVEN demons to take care of distributed between each group so that, eventually, there will be an end to the attack! Your characters can trap them, drive them off, and/or if they have the appropriate materials and company, even exorcise them. Have at it!

"Close off the lobby! Now!"

The bodies of the three exorcised demons lay scattered across the front entrance. Nodding off to the boy that Sam thought to be Ron Weasley, Sam motioned for him to find some way to drag the bodies out of the way so that they could appropriately set up protections for what was bound to come at them. The demons had said it themselves: they were trapped. They had nowhere to run. They were coming.

With limited supplies on hand, it was painfully obvious that they couldn't secure the whole building down. There wasn't enough time. However, if they rationed out their portions carefully, there would be more than enough rock salt to block off the beginnings of the building. They'd just have to trap themselves into the front while they worked on appropriate ways to dispose of the demons headed their way. Scattering the supplies out with rushed orders based on what to do with what and where to put it, everyone began to set to work in a panic stricken frenzy. Some seemed confused. Others? Determined. And Sam had no doubt that every person there, including himself, happened to be scared.

But that was war. And right now? They were in the middle of what Sam believed to be the beginning of many of the battles that were to come.

The jeers and howls quickly came from the exterior of the building. The demons were standing outside. Taunting. Waiting. Banging on doors and windows, desperate and eager to get in all at once. The scene was a familiar one. They were trapped, they had no supplies save for what they had been able to grab from the Impala, and they were outnumbered.

Acting quickly seemed like it was going to play key to their survival. With a bag of salt in hand, Sam dashed up to the front entrance and began to throw it down at the doors. He had nearly gotten all the way across before the door that he had been working at burst open and the salt that he'd been working at throwing down was flung from his hands. A man with black eyes immediately charged his way into the room, looking absolutely gleeful that he had beat Sam out to sealing him and his buddies from the building. Others were quick to break their way inside, soon leaving everyone within the building with no choice but to up and defend themselves.

Keep them back. Well there was one easy way to start with that. Hermione drew her wand and held it out, casting the spell quickly. "Protego"

The shield was cast, though much weaker than usual, the once bright light barely more than a shimmer. Alright then, Hermione had heard that the spells were weaker here, she could adapt.

She fired off a succession of Stunning spells, hitting one demon with four in a matter of seconds, not pausing for breath between hits.

With the nearest one now on the ground, Hermione made her way over to her nephew. She had no idea what had happened to Ron, or her daughter or niece and she tried not to feel too sick with worry. Malfoy wasn't here, that much she knew and briefly regretted. He wouldn't have felt any qualms about throwing a few Unforgivables at the demons. But he was probably off hunting his Aunt and Greyback.

Was an Unforgivable still unforgivable in the circumstances? She bit her lip in a moment of hesitation.

"Someone better be ready with an exorcism," she called out before focusing her wand again, dreading what she was about to do. The demon looked at her with a smirk, already standing after the Stunning spells. Hermione took a deep breath before casting.

"Imperio"

Stay still. Don't move. She sent the command through the Controlling curse, hoping to Merlin it would work.

Damien was a bit perplexed as the woman spoke directly to him. He couldn't help but feel something different about her. Wasn't sure it was a comfortable feeling... it was similar to how he felt whenever he got close to a church. He rubbed his neck briefly and replied, as he was still healing from the attack the other night, "Yes.. I do want to be on.. this side. I want them to go back to Hell. My name is Damien."

He watched as the witch cast her spells, and the male too. Now that was impressive. Probably would be even more so if they were back in their own world. He could probably cause some sort of explosion to take out these demonized hosts... but then, that wasn't right. Not for this side. Had to do a different way. He seriously hoped the demon that attacked him hadn't blabbed to Lilith and the others by now. He had a flask in his hand, and carefully unscrewed it. He wasn't sure how holy water would react to him in this reality. Best not to take chances.

He pointed to the one in front of him, glaring as some liquid got onto the man's face.. and yelled out. It looked just like a guy splashed with water, but the man acted like it was corrosive acid. So, it did work! He took advantage of that, kicked to the side of the knee, pressing down on it so the knee touched the ground, then grabbed the man by the hair. While the host struggled, cursing and speaking about how much fun it will be to kill them all, Damien held the flask above him... and let some of the water drip down into the man's throat.

Figuring that this bought some time at best, he then let go, grabbed a chair and headed a few steps back.. prepared to use it if needed. And he still had some water left. About half empty. "I can make the bodies.. um, sorta restrained." Paralysis, but he chose not to elaborate. "Problem is, the demons in them very likely can override their hosts motor functions after a few seconds, or it might be ten minutes.. I dunno, never dealt with this before, least not with help."

"Has anyone learned the exorcism yet?" she asked, looking around at them all. None of them had thought of using the Devil's Trap, or maybe they were all new enough not to know? Either way, she said nothing, waiting to see if anyone knew the exorcism before she would step in and simply kill the demon inside herself.

Anna glanced at Damien as he spoke. She didn't like what she saw, what she felt. For some reason she believed that he was maybe on the wrong side, and yet he fought. "So then your abilities would be like everyone else who is new. Not as strong, hard to judge." it was nothing new, but why he had these powers, she didn't know.

Though it seemed like at least one of the demons was going to insist on attacking her. "Mixing with the humans, are we?" one asked, as he approached. She didn't bother to answer as the demon attacked. The first punch the demon landed, the second Anna blocked with one arm as her other hand raised, palm setting down on the demons hosts head. White light flooded the body, and the demon screamed as the power of heaven destroyed him, falling to his knees.

The body dropped, the rest of the way, she she let it. Hopefully the person inside would survive. Looking over her shoulder, her eyes fell on the female witch, wondering if the spell was going to hold. She'd only said the last one once, Anna had a feeling that it wasn't going to last.

Even if this was Hermione Granger.

Religious or not, Anna had read the books as a human.

Right. There was a lot of things James was willing to sacrifice for the good fight. To deal with. Stupid uncles. Irritating know-it-all cousins. Irritating know-it-all muggles. Malfoy. The last one was barely but it was doing done. However, learning? Actively? That was pushing it all beyond sense. Which might have been a bit of a surprise when James stepped forward, and semi-raise his hand like he was still in school. He felt like an idiot but he also felt no need to yell it across in a room full of demons. What? He was a wizard, Latin was kind of a must. And he'd always been good at his Defence of the Dark Arts. Scarily good, he was his parents son after all. And this? Was what it was, what he reminded himself as spent a perfectly good summer catching up from Rose. Not like he had much else to do ...

At Damien's comment, James looked at him questioningly, curiously, assessing and judging, all those good ones, all in one go from the corner of his eye. He wasn't a wizard. That much was for sure. Or if he was, he was a really stupid one. His wand wasn't out. So James was to curious as to how this restraining thing would work.

Then the demon spoke, and really this evening was just interesting comments galore. When everyone stopped finding it necessary to cut off what he was going to say, James said. "Send them my way and I'll do it." Not elaborating what 'it' was, and even as he said the words, he sent out a locking curse and took a step closer to Hermione. Making it clear that he would always a few steps behind her, so if for some strange reason they didn't spot him, they would send the demons in her general direction and James would handle them. Just because he wasn't leaving the younger version of his aunt out of sight didn't mean that he could hex and exorcise as well. He could multi-task.
