Entry tags:marian fitzwalter, martha jones, robin hood

Who: Marian, Robin and Martha
What: First scan time!
Where: Med bay in the complex
When: 11th February, just after lunch
Rating: TBD, probably not too high
Status: Incomplete

Marian slipped a few pins in her hair to hold the curls back from her face, running her hands down her cheeks as she dropped her hands to her sides. She could barely sleep all night, the excitement getting a bit too much for her. Then obviously the morning sickness decided it was best to drive her crazy and not let her enjoy her time cuddling in bed with Robin. She stared into the bathroom mirror, her skin still a little pale from this morning's symptoms, but she was starting to get more colour in her cheeks. Dropping her hand to the smallest of bumps on her stomach, she tilted her head at her reflection and smiled.

"First picture today, baby. I'm sure you'll look your best."

She couldn't stop the grin on her face as she pushed herself away from the sink and out of the bathroom, moving straight to the living room and grinning at Robin. Wait, he still had a bowl of cereal? Was he trying to kill her. Slipping her feet into her comfortable flats, she picked up a pillow and aimed a throw at him.

"Will you hurry up, we can't  be late!" Though he would know she wasn't angry or anything with him, she was just excited and wanted to get going now. Plus it was slightly annoying to see him eat so much when all she could get down that morning was a slice of toast. Grabbing her bag, she put everything she would need for the possibility of shopping after into it before hooking her jacket over her arm. She wouldn't need it until they left anyway. "Come on then."

Robin had been trying not to eat around Marian unless she was feeling well, which sometimes meant grabbing a quick bite at odd moments. He had counted on her taking longer with her hair this morning, and whipped the bowl out of the way of the pillow she threw, just in time to avoid wearing his breakfast. "We won't be late; we have ten minutes, and it takes two to get down there," he pointed out, amused. He knew Marian had barely slept, because he had been awake, as well; however, he had tried not to bother her, in case she could get to sleep.

It was hard to believe that they would be able to see the baby. The pictures in the baby books were astounding, and even having seen them, it was still a difficult concept to grasp. They still had six months before they got to meet that little person, yet they got to see him or her today. That was amazing.

Finishing the cereal in a last, big bite, he dumped the bowl and spoon in the sink, pulling on his sneakers as he chewed. Once he had swallowed, he opened the door. "C'mon, what are you waiting for?"

She watched him as he did everything he had to, fighting back that nauseous feeling she felt at the sight of the food. She hoped this would all calm soon, it was starting to drive her insane. Yes she understood it was part of pregnancy but that didn't mean she had to like it. Looking away, she decided to focus on her bag rather than his moving, glancing up in time to see him put his shoes on. Good. They could get going now.

Rolling her eyes as he opened the door, urging her to hurry up. Walking past him, she gave a playful slap to his stomach before holding out her hand. Once he had left the room, she quickly locked the door before leading him to the stairs. She prefered taking the stairs most times, unless she had too much to carry. It wasn't like they were extremely high anyway. Plus she was practically bouncing now they were on their way there however she had to admit to that slight fear within her. She didn't know what she was going to see when she had the scan and had heard about mothers finding out the baby was no longer living. But she tried to put that thought out of her mind and stay positive. Soon they were at the med bay and she gave Robin a smile before walking in.

"Martha?" she called out as she walked in. The beds were empty anyway.

She'd been in her office. Recently she'd been spending perhaps too much time in there, if only because there was so much going on that she needed time to clear her head. She couldn't say it was too quiet, but for her the Master was being too quiet. One would think this would be a good thing, but no... it translated to her as him planning something - expecially since he had seemingly dropped off the grid. Despite the notes she was taking, she was pulled from her thoughts and her office as she heard someone calling out to her.

She checked the time and it was later than she'd initially thought! She rushed into the main area and found Robin and Marian standing there waiting. She had to smile. Pregnancies were something she enjoyed. "Marian, Robin," she smiled at them - pushing her personal concerns aside. She walked over and held out her hand. "Glad to see both of you," she exhaled excitedly. "Are you both ready?"

She smiled when she saw Martha leave her office, wishing she had knocked there first rather than yelling out. But the other woman didn't seem to mind too much, almost seemed quite happy actually. Well that was good, it was something at least. She was glad that they had changed the doctor who was to look after her to Martha, she was more trustworthy. She knew the complex had different ways of protecting the people inside and if she couldn't trust Martha it would be easy to tell.

"It's good to see you," Marian said as she took her hand briefly before letting it fall to her side. "I think we are, yes."

She would be lying if she said she wasn't nervous. She wish she had read more on this process, but she already knew a fair bit as it was. She looked to Robin, waiting to see if he was okay, before glancing to Martha once more.

"What do you need me to do?"

Robin was not used to feeling in the way, or as though he did not belong. And, while he knew and was glad that he was supposed to be part of this whole process-- not something that would be true in their own time,-- he was actually feeling a little awkward. Trying to fight past that, he smiled as he shook Martha's hand. "Ready," he confirmed, glancing at Marian. She seemed a little nervous, which again was not normal.

That actually put his mind at ease. Of course, they were both out of their element; this was new for both of them. Placing a hand lightly at the small of Marian's back, he waited to hear what was next.
