X-Project is an X-Men movieverse RPG on Livejournal. Set after X2, we've been running since May 2003 and use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. There's a number of settings for a range of play, whatever your preference, and while we accept new characters we strongly encourage people to adopt one of our orphans.

1650s Spain. The country was in the midst of yet another Plague, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Seville was struck the hardest, losing at least 150,000 of its 600,000 people. One neighborhood, housing all sorts of supernaturals having banded together as families, remained all but untouched by the disease. The death toll here was nonexistent. Five families--humans, werewolves, druids, vampires, and Elves--fled from their beloved Seville in the hopes of saving their kind and finding freedom in America. With the idealism of the New World, these families found promise in a town they founded: Refuge Sound, not far from Boston. It was to be a safe haven for their kind, a place where they could be themselves without fear of persecution. Humans began to settle with them, unknowingly at first. As the truth of the families came to light, these humans became scared but were unwilling to leave their homes. Instead they formed their own family of hunters to protect themselves and other humans, and to contain the supernaturals in Refuge Sound.

The Goddess of Chaos looked after these Universes, and for several thousands of years, everything seemed to be running smoothly. Until that day, the day that Chaos made a mistake. Echoing across time and space came a word, one that was profound but which no one would remember. That word was: "Oops." In a paniced attempt to fix her mistake, she crashed the entirety of the Multiverse into Earth, merging it into the 'between places'. Nothing could possibly go wrong with that plan! Most people didn't even notice. Unfortunately for your character, it is three months later and they are amongst several other people who are starting to notice. But it gets better! It seems like some of the lines between reality and these other universes are unraveling entirely. "Oops", as these brave characters are going to discover, really doesn't begin to cover it. Characters in the game start off as 'normal' people living a 'normal' life and will slowly recover their canon memories and powers as they interact with the hundreds of universes that got crashed into Earth.
