The war has only just stopped raging. Though the fires have been put out, the smoke has not yet cleared. From the ashes of corruption and deceit, a new Ministry rises with Kingsley Shacklebolt at the helm. The revolution is slow. There is much to do and, as usual, not enough time or resources to make everything happen all at once.
Amidst the chaos, new beginnings blossom. Shacklebolt is busy revolutionizing every aspect of society. Even Hogwarts' established-for-centuries curriculum is being overhauled. Come September, the first of Shacklebolt's new educational initiatives will be introduced, to the delight of some, and the dismay of others. A mandatory eighth year of education has been implemented with the intention of better preparing the students for life after Hogwarts. A career counsellor has joined Hogwarts' staff and an apprenticeship program has been put in place. Kingsley Shacklebolt has spent the past month encouraging parents and students alike to embrace these radical changes. He has asked those involved to have an open-mind about the apprenticeship programs. But whether you embrace the changes or disapprove of them, you are expected to be at Platform 9¾ on the morning of September 4th, books bought, bags packed and ready to learn. | |

WANTED APPLICATION
This is an extremely-active community, thread and AIM friendly, all-original supernatural game set in a modern day traveling carnival. Characters are from all cultures, walks of life, and backgrounds, and range from human to all manner of supernatural being. There are plots for everyone, including romance, intrigue, horror, fluff, humor and adventure. We welcome all PBs except anime/cartoon.
Currently seeking contortionists, burlesque dancers, haunted house performers, merchants/vendors, artists/artisans, management, photographers, interns/assistants, game booth operators, trapeze acts, sideshow acts (particularly a pair of conjoined twins would be awesome and full of potential), videographer, musician/singers, mimes/clowns, buskers, food vendors, chefs, bartenders, security personnel, janitors/cleanup crew, ticket takers, ride operators, and more!

 Rumors of a strange infection have been circulating around New York City for months now. The government has done everything in its power to silence them, however, and the students of St. Jude's and Constance Billard have been kept almost entirely in the dark. True, there's the odd stranger coughing blood on the subway. Or the strangely pasty complexion and glassy eyes of the salesperson waiting on them at Bendel's. Perhaps they've even heard rumors of people becoming reanimated in hospitals. But between the stress of Gossip Girl blasts, SAT prep, and lacrosse matches, who can really keep track? Their blissful weeks of ignorance end today. For the few unlucky students caught after hours by a hoard of the living dead ransacking the prestigious hallways of their school, social survival has been replaced by actual survival. These pampered and spoiled Upper East Side teenagers will have to rely on each other and whatever skills they have if they want to make it out alive. From the school's Queen Bee all the way down to the scholarship kids, everyone has a common enemy for the first time ever. And zombies don't care how blue your family's blood is or how healthy your trust funds. They want one thing: to feast on the entire student body. This is a small PSL comm focusing on Gossip Girl characters encountering a challenge far more dire than gossip blasts—zombies!! We'd love to see a few more characters join in on the cracktastic mayhem that’s set to launch this weekend. A list of who is open is available here. In Southern California, there recently opened a new luxury apartment building. Impeccably designed, impossibly convenient, ideally located, Pax Letale is the sort of residential Shangri La where Southern Californians spend all manner of favors and years trying to secure a spot. But Pax doesn't have a waiting list, nor can a place there be bought or sold. The people who find their way to Pax Letale belong there. Every tenant of Pax is a reincarnated deity whose worshipers are by and large long dead. Once very real, these gods began to fade as science and reason dispelled the probability of their existence. Reborn as mortals, their essences remain, waiting to be awakened. Somehow, sometimes one by one, sometimes in groups or pairs, these creatures of destiny have discovered Pax, and have not been able to resist its pull. For at Pax Letale, the awakening has begun. As these gods rediscover themselves and each other, the seemingly invisible but ubiquitous management tracks each of them quite closely, and the very building itself seems to have an agenda of its own. And as the gods made humans in their own image - or humans made them in theirs - so will the the behavior of the people of Pax turn as dark as their myths. Blood, strife, sex, petty plots, torture - even murder will wind their ways into Pax Letale. A lovely place. A peculiar place. A dangerous place. Enki is the Babylonian god of water, crafts, intelligence and creation. Twin of and best friend of Ereshkigal, goddess of the Underworld, he is often seen as a positive foil to his brother Enlil, utilizing his magic and cunning for the good of others; he brings aid to deities and humans alike, serving as a rare masculine nuturer in a chaotic and often oppressively patriarchal pantheon. He will likely have connections to Tiamat, Ereshkigal, and other Sumero-Babylonian deities. Brighid is the Celtic goddess of the forge, inspiration, compassion and creativity, and a patron goddess of artists, craftsmen, and other creative types. In her mortal life, she may have connections to her parents, her siblings, or any of the Celtic pantheon. Masauwu is a Hopi deity sometimes called the Skeleton Man, Keeper of Fire, Spirit of Death, and the Master of the Fourth (present) World. He is depicted as a dark-skinned man wearing a mask; sometimes the creature beneath this mask is described as handsome, sometimes as a disfigured monster. Connections to Native American deities and gods and goddesses of death or enlightenment are likely. Don't see a tenant that interests you? Other deities and pantheons are welcome - pick one of the active pantheons in the game, or talk to a mod if there's one you don't see, and make your modern god as you see him/her/it. |
