For as long as anyone can remember, the City has always been one of the largest metropolitan centers in the world. It has had its share of glory and decline, but none so great as the age in which Oz Corp was first founded and what followed after. Michael Ozma was no man of magic, but he might as well have been for the technological wonders he brought to the people of the City. He invented a software interface so advanced it seemed uncrackable and reshaped the corporate world in the City. Even thirty-six years after his death, his revolutionary ideas are still inspiring work on Oz Corps newest water-powered engine.
Now, Ozma's three surviving daughters rule over this once great Metropolis, and the Gilded Age is long past. OzCorp has become corrupt, and the City has fallen from it's glory days. Crime and drugs now rule the streets, though some aristocrats still live above it all.
Inspired by folk-lore and fairy-tales, Not So Far Away is a unique Role-Playing World that incorporates characters from fairytale, folklore, and mythology from around the world and brings them into this ever-expanding universe. The only rule is that every character represents an arch-type from another story, whether that be Prince Charming or the infamous Mr Toad. Having trouble conceiving a character of your own? We have a long list of 'pre-made' character concepts that will play an important role to the overall plot of our story. Just remember, that everyone has a tale to tell, and every tale has it's own heroes and villains.

Life changed in 1930 for every wizard and witch in London. Gellert Grindelwald killed Albus Dumbledore on a muggle street and rose to power. Nothing is like it should be. It wasn't long before Grindelwald extended his power to the muggle world as well as the magical world. Halfbloods, muggleborns, and even muggles live in fear. Breaking boundaries and rewriting old laws, he controlled everything he could see. Unhappy with just that, he stretched his power, spanning countries. The Class of the Chrysanthemum rose early against the dark dictator, only to be broken into factions when their leader, Cassiopeia Black, met her untimely death at the end of Grindelwald's wand. Still the Class of the Chrysanthemum fought on in factions, not knowing who to trust. It's war, but no one seems to know it. Set seventy years after his initial take over in 2000, the new millennium, some people still hold hope for the future, but some have given up entirely. Most wanted: Amycus Carrow, Hermione Granger, Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa Malfoy, Parvati Patil, Rabastan Lestrange, Rodolphus Lestrange, Trio-era characters, Weasleys (but Molly and Ginny), and many more. | |||

For rules and how to apply, please visit HERE. This game is played on AIM (you can use Trillian or any other IM that is AIM compatible and has an ability to log or save your chats), and logs are posted on the IJ community. The community is permanently paid for! When your application is accepted, you will need a journal. A basic knowledge of the series canon and a more thorough understanding of your character is all that is needed (you do not need to master the Japanese language to play, nor be a manga-master - this is a laid back atmosphere). Aps should be one to two short paragraphs, send to the e-mail address on the profile page and please check the taken characters listing at the bottom of the profile page to see if your character is taken and/or has a journal already. The hero looked desperately around for anyone who might be of help. He was alone. The pirate grinned, and pulled out a dagger. The hero looked around for cover. There is none, so he backed up against the wall, praying that the pirate didn't have the key. The pirate didn't, but unfortunately he also had an excellent arm. Excruciating pain overwhelmed all of the hero's senses, as he sunk to the ground, the dagger embedded in his chest. Next time, he'd have to remember not to insult the man's mom. It was obviously a terrible tactical strategy. His last thought was about how very much he wished the internet had been invented here so that he could look up things like “diplomacy” or “gypsy curses.” He was desperately trying to recall something from his psychology class when his heart finally stopped, and everything went black. Sunlight streamed through the stable window, and the hero blinked a bit before sitting up to find a man with a pitchfork staring at him. “Did the wizard send ya?” the man asks accusingly. The hero buries his face in his hand. Oh no....Not again..... Wanted: gamers, guards, highway bandits, pirates, fey, princesses, princes, sheriffs, deputies, heroes, and much more! |

On May 02, 1998, a battle broke out at Hogwarts. The battle. Students, professors, creatures, The Order and Death Eaters alike fought hard for their beliefs. And then, Harry came forward, and history was made when he defeated Voldemort. Peace does not come easy though. There was a heavy price and they're only just beginning to pay it. May 02 is a trio-era game set in the wake of the Final Battle. Picking up the day of and just after the ending of the final battle, we will follow our beloved characters as they grieve, fight and work to rebuild their lives, and attempt to find their place in the world as it stands now. | We're a new asylum that brings original characters together with canon characters, this is a panfandom RP. The only restrictions on the 'OC' are the play bys. We can't have our canon characters running into themselves, it would be weird, and might send them to the medic because of a major freak out. We can't have that. Not that we don't welcome weird moments, we love those! But that would be just a little too much... If you enjoy the experience and want to become a permanent, you're welcome to apply for one of the canon characters that are not taken. Any Fandoms are welcome, we simply ask for a fleshy play by rather than a cartoony or 3dish sort, just to keep the players around you comfortable... I don't know about you but I think Jacob Black would feel weird about standing in front of a cartoon strawberry shortcake. | |
