There is an apartment building in New York called 'Bellum Letale.' Most people ignore its auspicious name, though they would be advised to pay more attention to its meaning.
It is a strange building. It seems to be somehow bigger inside than out, with narrow passageways, intimidating doorways, and lovely corners that disappear and reappear at random. And its occupants are just as strange--from all over the world, from all walks of life, all of their lives have nudged them toward this building as if they were always meant to live there.
This is, of course, because they were. Every man, woman and child in the building is a reincarnated fable, the stories told to human children for hundreds, sometimes thousands of years. Once very real, the fables began to fade as science and reason dispelled the probability of their existence. They have all been reborn in human forms, though their essence remains, waiting to be awakened at the right time, in the right place.
Now is the time--Bellum Letale is the place. As their lives connect and weave together, as they follow their petty desires and chase love, they are, all of them, on the brink of disaster. Not just for them, but for the world at large. This world of science is in need of fables once more, even if the fables themselves do not yet know how much.
Bellum Letale--Lethal War. A premade fairy tale and fable community. Now taking holds and applications. We are set to open within the next two weeks or when we recieve five applications.  It's happy hour at the Knife-in-the-Eye Pub. Kit Marlowe tends bar, and Tiberius Claudius Drusus Nero Germanicus is probably in the back cooking the books. The Knife-in-the-Eye is one of the more happening joints on Gropecunt Lane, somewhere in the underworld, where those who have been immortalized in song and story...are stuck. One for the Books is a semi-structured, primarily comedic LJ RP for historical figures. Rulers, statesmen, scholars, artists, soldiers, and eccentrics from all periods and all places congregate at the Knife-in-the-Eye and contemplate the ineffable -- when they're not at each others' throats, that is. From Will Shakespeare introducing his fellow patrons to the joys of Elizabethan Scrabble, to Ramses II and Montezuma having a pyramid-measuring contest, to Peter the Great dangling things over Napoleon's head, to Nero and the Marquis de Sade throwing the craziest parties history's ever seen, to Vlad Tepes attempting to woo Countess Elizabeth Bathory, it's never boring. |

It's 1977; school's out for Summer, but this Summer feels strange... dark, somehow. It won't be long before school will start again, and Owls from Hogwarts are winging their way across the country with the promise of another perfectly normal year at Hogwarts. Homework will be piled on, the threat of looming exams being beaten into ignorant minds, but for now, at least, it's Summer, yet... something doesn't feel right. It's so much darker this year than it was last year. The days seem to be shortening beyond comprehension. The fog is thick and cold and constant, not to mention the fact that everyone seems so glum. There are disappearances being noted in the newspaper, but everything seems vague, as though someone knows what is going on, but too afraid to voice it aloud. The adults seem a bit on edge, uncertain how to handle the evil that is lurking in the shadows. The students, for the most part, are completely unaware of what is going on, even those whose parents are deep in the throes of swearing their allegiance to one side or another. The students, it seems, live in a world of their own, one untouched by the misery and doom of the outside world. Still, there seems to be something very unpleasant lurking unsaid, something creeping and crawling into the very veins of those it infects. Though there are only whispers, and people are afraid to voice their fears out loud, there are some things that cannot be fought. After all, it's difficult to feel protected by magic when the other side can use it, too. Incanto is a straightforward Marauder Era game. No weird twists, no time travel, nothing out of the ordinary. If you just want a game that is canon, then this is for you. Our emphasis in this game is on character development rather than plot development - we will not puppeteer your characters and encourage you to generate your own plots.
