For years man has been evolving, quietly and subtly, on the periphery of human awareness. In recent years these evolutionary mutations have taken on more extravagant and dangerous forms, attracting the attention of homo-sapiens. The humans do not like what they see. To make matter worse, many of these mutants have turned to villainy, terrorizing the public and affirming the fear and hatred towards mutants harbored by human race. Reactionary measures have been taken, most notably in America and Great Britain, requiring mutants to register with the governments. Mutant organizations, some for good and some for evil, have sprung up all over the planet. In response to the growing threat of super-powered villains, the American S.H.I.E.L.D. organization has taken the initiative to produce the first government sanctioned “super-hero” the Avengers. Meanwhile, despite mounting public distrust, philanthropist Charles Xavier continues his efforts towards peaceful mutant-human relations with his X-Men and his school for young mutants in Westchester, New York. At the Muir Island research facility a subsidiary of the X-Men team has been formed by geneticist Moira MacTaggert, calling itself Excalibur. In contrast to these “heroes” the mutant called Magneto, disillusioned with an intolerant majority, has built the island haven of Genosha and formed the “activist” Brotherhood of Mutants. More groups are formed all the time, from devious government factions to would-be champions. Many mutants choose no affiliation, fighting the system as lone rebels or staying hidden in the shadows. Premise The 1996-1997 school year ended with the death of Albus Dumbledore, but while he and Harry were uncovering the truth behind Lord Voldemort's immortality Lord Voldemort was himself in the final stages of a plan that would bring him that much closer to everlasting life.... To take over the Ministry of Magic. Break into the Department of Mysteries. And solve the mystery of the Veil -- the doorway between life and death. On 1 August 1997, a battle raged inside the Ministry as Death Eaters fought Aurors and Ministry officials for the control of the Ministry for Magic -- and the control of Wizarding England. The Order of the Phoenix found out hours too late, and by that time, Voldemort had won. The next day, the Daily Prophet announced that Lord Voldemort had declared himself Minister of Magic. The reaction was immediate, as countless witches and wizards fled the country. They, as the remaining magical population would soon discover, were the lucky ones. While St. Mungo's remains neutral and Gringotts Bank has taken a violently oppositional stance, the remaining wizarding institutions, including Hogwarts, have no choice but to go along with the Dark Lord's demands. While the Death Eaters have been running the country, slowly but surely destroying all that was good about wizarding society, Voldemort has been examining the veil. It didn't take long before he found a way out. Thus he entered through the veil to explore the realm of the dead. But what he didn't count on was that as he entered, someone was released. Looking exactly as they did the day they died, that soul, who was in stasis at the happiest time of their life, has no knowledge of current affairs or their life after that happiest moment. But they're back, and the only way out for them is to die again. But they don't remember death - they only remember life. Appearing in a discrete alleyway in the heart of Diagon Alley, they are lost, confused, and have no idea what to do. But soon after the first of the undead was discovered, those loyal to the Order have been carefully watching, making sure those who return are properly cared for and given the latest in wizarding communication: the journals. If they have family still alive, they are put in touch with them, and they do their best to readjust to life in 1997. But the question remains: what is Voldemort looking for beyond the veil? What is it that he thinks holds the key to immortality? Only time will tell, and if Voldemort discovers it before Harry Potter destroys the remaining Horcruxes, then the wizarding world will forever be subject to the Dark Lord's rule. |

ANOMALOUS Rules x FAQ x App x Held x Cast x Contact/F-Button Started in July of '07, Anomalous was a long running game on GJ, and was also brought back on IJ closing somewhere during the summer of '08. We're currently retconning the premise, and we hope to start it again. PREMISE Welcome to a world influenced by power. There are no superhuman heroes, no dastardly villains here. You may be used to hearing stories of people joining secret teams and forming legions, flying around on planes, but this is not a comic book. This is a generation of gifted humans who, in the past six months, have lost their once normal lives. Some of these "mutations" were worse than others, but together they all are united in the fact that their lives will never be the same again. People began to notice things wrong with themselves. Wounds would heal faster, massive headaches would ensue, and suddenly they were in a different room. A man prayed to God that the next time he opened his eyes, his glance wouldn't destroy whatever fell within his gaze. This evolutionary jump wasn't just isolated to the United States. All over the world, people began to realize their true potential. Foreign governments are trying to recruit them to military forces, wanting nothing more than to control them. Scientists search out these special people, their intentions both good and bad. What was once considered normalcy has been corrupted. Questions with no anwers are on the tip of everyone's tongue: How, or why; are they connected? Is there a greater purpose, be it dark or light, that they must face? Already, some of these "freaks", as they were called, were using their powers for personal gain, and there was a concern that it would escalate. They would rob, they would cheat, and they would kill to seek vengence. Then there were those who tried to stay out of the limelight, frightened of their powers and the consequences that came with them. Some even found these powers as a way to gain attention, using them to save lives and get their name flashed on the evening news. These are The Anomalous - the changed, the powerful, the revolutionized. WANTED Anyone, and everyone is wanted and needed! We're retconning the game, so everyone is adored! game will start with nine applicants. |
forgotten pages. (popular roles re-available!) | ||
The summer of Albus Dumbledore's death greeted the wizarding world with great change. The Ministry of Magic was taken over by the Dark Lords followers. Purebloods that understood the cause were at his beck and call. Some half-bloods of social standing tried to change their bloodlines by smudging documents in hopes to keep themselves and their money safe. Muggleborns were treated like common criminals and hunted by an order called, Snatchers. And blood-traitors were victimized for their political views. change was on the horizon. The students of Hogwarts were thrown into that change without warning. As the new year began Headmaster Snape proved to be just as nasty as he had been as a teacher. The employment of the Carrows siblings brought on obvious alterations to the schools interests. With the implementation of a Dark Arts class, the rebirth of the Inquisitorial Squad, |
and the newfound form of physical punishment...students were asked to choose sides. For it was believed that cleansing the youth was necessary to preparing them for the Dark Lords new order. and what better place to start than hogwarts? forgottenpages is a DH-compliant, trio-era-seventh-year game. Here we look to explore Hogwarts and Hogwarts only. Though the castle walls are greatly influenced by the world beyond them students are rarely, if ever, let in on details. With no real contact with the outside world and such drastic measures being taken by the new administration students are forced to conform or in the rare case...rebel. Rebellion, of course, will not be tolerated by the current staff. Yet, there are a few who have chosen to fight. A few who look to right the wrongs of those who currently have the power. The question is, where will you stand come the final battle of Hogwarts? |
