Wars always leave scars. Sometimes they're in the shape of missing limbs, or gouges in the flesh, pain in the joints or chronic headaches. But sometimes, they come in the form of nightmares. Sometimes those nightmares don't go away when you open your eyes, as you're forced to relive the horrors of your past. And sometimes these horrors haunt you your whole life, causing stress on your personal and professional life. Sometimes those horrors and those nightmares are so real, that you can't tell the difference between them, and every day life. That's when the nice young men, in their clean white coats, come to take you away. To The Sanctuary. The Sanctuary, a clean, safe, wholesome environment where former Order Members, former Ministry Aurors, and former Death Eaters can all recover from the horrors of war together, and learn to get along in a calm and controlled space, where everyone gets their own personal room, and an hour a week with a qualified therapist. There are visiting hours, there are group activities, there's a game room, and a large, beautiful garden out back just waiting to help the inhabitants of The Sanctuary ease back into a normal life and cast away their demons. If only it wasn't run by a woman who would be better suited as one of the patients, instead of The Director. Cameras and microphones in every room, journals that are private to everyone but her, and the possibility of a punishment around every corner. Oh, you'll write home every week to your family and make sure to tell them how well you're doing, and how happy you are here.. or she'll never let you leave. Even then, she might not. |

It was built by mischief makers that had attended the school after the War, put there for the sole purpose of being a secret meeting spot for friends, groups, or couples, for any use from parties to plotting to just enjoying the evening sky. It hasn't been discovered yet, but the students are still careful. The only way to get to it is Invisibility cloak--which is rare--or the hidden passageway on the fourth floor back corridor, behind the statue of a dancing House Elf. |
spliffy: harry potter, next generation Under the warm sunshine, another summer is coming to a close and there are students eagerly (or not so eagerly) returning to Hogwarts; the girls are loitering, the boys are ogling, and the gossip is lingering, as is always the case in a group of teenagers. Love faces off with sex, grades face off with parties, and truth faces off with falsities in the everyday drama at Hogwarts. However, since the Battle of Hogwarts, the Ministry of Magic has been slowly working on new protective measures to prevent such an event from ever threatening Great Britain's schools again. As years have passed, new restrictive spells have been cast on the grounds of Hogwarts. At the beginning of this school year, under the decree of Kingsley Shacklebolt, a radically developed charm will be cast over the entire grounds as a means to prevent the approach of evil spirits of any sort. Unbeknownst to the returning students and staff, however, this spell has a glaring flaw which has not yet been revealed; it cuts off all contact with the outside world. As students and teachers are separated from their parents, their families and the rest of Great Britain, what will they do to cope? Can they band together in support, or will they attack one another in bouts of cabin fever? Though all faculty members are hard at work to find a counter-spell, it may not come fast enough to save some friendships, relationships, or even lives. Oh, and there's spliff. |

| When the Others came out to the world in 2003, the humans weren’t quite sure what to think. Suddenly, they weren’t alone in the world; they were no longer the most dominant species on the planet, though they still far outnumbered those with remarkable, unbelievable gifts. Werecreatures began to show themselves all around the globe, transforming in plain sight for all to see, the vampires not far behind. It didn’t take long for the remaining, mortal population to divide; some wanted to be like those they came to call Others, wanted into their worlds, some feared them and made their voices heard. Some refused to believe the revelation, even after it swept the media, printed in black and white and flashed across news bulletins worldwide. It didn’t take long for the humans to realise there were too many of them to just ignore. Tensions mounted, worried parents wondering if their children were safe with the ‘offspring’ of Others in the same schools as their precious boys and girls. Word quickly spread when a small handful of powerful politicians and one or two influential leaders came out to the world, announcing what they were. The Others were everywhere. Slowly but surely, everything began to ease; the humans started to settle, and following their example, those who had come clean relaxed, assured that their lives were not in danger. Time passed, and the Others began to pop up in every walk of life; musicians, teachers, store clerks, newsreaders. They really were everywhere. And yet, hidden among their own kind, those who were not quite supernatural and not quite normal hesitated on the threshold, on the verge of announcing themselves. Others were already treated warily, even five years down the line, but how would mortals react to their own kind being Gifted? Able to read thoughts undetected and burn strong buildings to the ground without accelerant or matches, the Gifted knew they would be feared perhaps even more than those able to shift into animals or drain the blood from mortals. So they lie in wait, keeping their powers hidden, waiting and watching, to see how the first chapter ends. Because if history has taught us anything, it is that division never truly goes away, and sooner or later, the shaky balance will be torn apart. | |
