WHO WILL YOU VOTE FOR? A 2008 Harry Potter Role Play Game The Second Wizarding War is over. The Order of the Phoenix won, and the United Kingdom is finally at peace – or at least it was. Then came the announcement of Minister Kingsley Shacklebolt’s retirement, and all political hell broke loose. With peace finally upon the Wizarding World, the question on everyone’s mind is who will be elected to take his place. Most assume it will be the Boy Who Lived, but when Harry Potter refuses to become a candidate, that leaves the field wide open. Multiple candidates are chosen, one from each Ministry Department. Each promise peace and prosperity, but most have their own agenda. Worse, as the election heats up, a war between Departments is stirring as each fights for dominance. It’s Auror against Unspeakable, International Magical Cooperation against Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, even the Department of Regulation of Magical Creatures against the Department of Transportation. At first it’s regarded as friendly rivalry, but when candidates start to turn up dead, it turns into an all-out war. Who will survive the election – and more importantly, who will win? And after it’s all over…then what? Welcome to The Retreat, a rehabilitation center specializing in Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome for war victims. It is funded by Saint Mungo's hospital and set within the beautiful woodlands of the Kamchatka Peninsula. We proudly boast a well trained staff of nurses and doctors specializing in psychological counseling while, at the same time, providing a healthy and nurturing sense of community and family. What our pretty brochure won't tell you, however, is that our head doctor is a bit of a bored masochist with a god-complex, magic within The Retreat has been nearly nullified, the grounds are charmed to heighten emotional responses, and there's hidden cameras set up everywhere, even behind the two-way mirrors. So won't you join us in our pseudo-quest for mental wellness in a post-war world, where even though the Dark Lord is dead, the victims of the second war can't escape the fact that they'll always be someone else's pawn and plaything. |
Wanted Patients and staff, original characters accepted. If this game concept sounds familiar it is because we've been around for a while. We've just cleaned everything out though for a fresh start so if you missed out on the game before, now is your chance! |
What if you heard the news? Not headlined – not like it should have been – but buried in the paper, or reported on a blog. The news of the discovery of over a hundred people, people just like you, people who had been lied to, tricked, tortured and abused. People who had given their lives over to a 'social experiment' that had gone horribly wrong. What if you had been told that those experiments had been ended and the participants were in the process of being rehabilitated? What if you were told that you could help? That you were needed? Whatever your skills sets – barman, workman, doctor, plumber. Normal, ordinary people were needed to help these people rehabilitate into society. What if you weren't told about the catch – that the experiments weren't over yet. That by volunteering to help, you'd end up just like those very people you were trying to save? Would you go? reEcho is a brand new original character game seeking new players! Game Information Premise |
In late spring of 1997, Albus Dumbledore was killed by Severus Snape, and the Wizarding World changed. Hallowed Ground is an RPG community for writers interested in exploring the intricacies of what followed, reaching deep beyond what's already known. Deathly Hallows has provided us a road map to our destination but the journey is ours to write, ours to fill in and flesh out. Come discover where everyone who wasn't Ron, Harry, or Hermione went after fleeing Bill & Fleur's wedding, listen to the Sorting Hat's song for a new Headmaster, watch the DA reform and scheme up protests to the Carrows reign, the Death Eaters plan attacks on Muggle and Wizarding societies from inside the Ministry of Magic, and members of the Order of the Phoenix strive to keep a light shining in the dark. Join us in our endeavor to develop the adventures unseen as time winds down to a final battle unlike any writing experience you've had. Hallowed Ground is searching for the absolute fullest compliment of cast possible. We accept any character mentioned in the seven Harry Potter books who is known to be alive on 1 July, 1997, and encourage insightful takes on both characters we know loads about and particularly ones we've barely met. The game will be played in real time, with some flexing as we approach the holiday season to allow for players' personal schedules and is set to end 5 September, 2009 (2 May 1998 in game) after the Battle of Hogwarts, with as much time as is needed after to properly finish threads. Applications are being accepted now; players are asked to work with canon to develop their own path through the known story lines as we write, as there is already so much available room to maneuver. Writers interested in applying should know that this is a very community oriented game, with opportunities to develop friendships, contribute ideas, help see them to fruition, and have your voice heard. Moderating will be done by a council of founders to start, with elected players rotating the founders as we progress, preventing power trips and encouraging player participation while still providing the necessary assistance and guidance to make a game run smoothly. Experience is not required; we firmly believe that a writer brand new to RPG can develop a character fabulously and fully. Seasoned players are also happily accepted with their favourite known characters or brand new explorations, now is your chance to let someone new invade your brain! For more information, please click on the links below! Actively Seeking Applications For: Harry Potter, Voldemort, Minerva McGonagall Bellatrix Lestrange, Ron & Other Weasleys Plenty of other characters are still available as well! |

Colorful Wings: A New Region Pokemon RPG In the name of Lugia's wings what is Wings of Color all about? Well, it doesn't actually have much to do with Lugia's wings. Unless you're a member of a nefarious Team. The year is just beginning. The new trainers are receiving their licenses from Gyms and schools around the country. If the Leaders thought the Shiko Tournament was splendid last year, they haven't seen nothing yet. Even while things stir up on the mountainside, most of the trainer population of Shiko is concerned with much more trifling matters, like what Gym to challenge, which Pokemon will be captured next, and when the next festival is. Come for the Mudkips, stay for the Bidoofs. Just so you know? Our mountain doesn't have a tunnel. RULES/APPLICATION POST/POKEDEX/JOBS/CITIES & LOCATIONS/GYM LEADERS |
Things are tense at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Rumors of Voldemort's return are being whispered amongst the students, voices hushed and nervous as the latest bit of information makes the rounds. Fear has settled heavily on many shoulders, quickly bringing uncertainty and mistrust to an already divided school. Who belongs to which side? Are there spies amongst the students? What will happen next, who will die next? Can anything be done? The school may be safe from the outside wizarding world, but are the students safe from each other? The generations-long battle between the houses hasn't gotten better, and current tensions have done nothing but elevate the rivalries to a new level. To make matters worse, an anonymous group of four girls have stepped things up, creating a vicious gossip paper that periodically and sporadically details information about their fellow students. Details that only close friends would know. Details that no one is ever happy about having shared with the entire student body. It's called Bavardage. No one knows who publishes it, or how information is gathered for it. The only certain thing about it is that it is another source of trouble and uncertainty. With the teachers seemingly unable to stop new issues from going out and the issues getting progressively nastier and revealing more secrets, the last, thin threads of trust amongst the houses are fraying quickly. Friendships are being challenged and broken, and new, dangerous liaisons are being built. The general consensus is that the girls must be stopped: but how? The purebloods are getting snobbier every year, the halfbloods are losing recognition for their minds and intellect and the muggleborns are treated as welfare cases on scholarship from the British Prime Minister. The whole student body is stuck in a downward spiral, trapped by an endless ring of rumors and lies. Libel and slander are not punishable, but instead encouraged. There's nothing more important than bringing down anyone suspected of being responsible for Bavardage. People are getting hurt, and not just by the paper. With no one able to trust anyone else and constant fights breaking out, the search for the guilty is getting nowhere extremely fast. There's war brewing, and not just outside of Hogwarts. Somewhere within the castle that is supposed to be one of the few safe refuges left in the wizarding world, four girls are playing a dangerous game with their fellow students. Will the school collapse onto itself, or will the youth of the wizarding world be able to band together and overcome the fear, distrust, and rivalries that are threatening to tear Hogwarts apart? now open! A little over a year ago, something completely unexpected occurred. One night in mid-May 2007, people throughout the country called simply The States either went to bed or reported to third shift or even went out partying. It seemed like any other night, nothing out of the ordinary whatsoever. ...Until about 2:00am. That's when the sky started lighting up. People all over the country rushed out of their homes or workplaces or wherever they were at the time to watch as what looked like a brilliant meteor shower took place in the skies above them. There was wonder and awe for several minutes ... that is, until the first meteorite fell to the ground in Yellowstone National Park. Or perhaps it was in Toledo, Ohio. Some might even say it was in Omaha, Nebraska. No one would know for sure where the first one fell, or if there were several first ones. Because in a matter of hours, nearly every part of the country was left in shambles. Cities and entire states were decimated and casualties ran extremely high. In the morning, when the sun rose high and innocent in the sky, President Aldridge — still very much in shock himself — departed from Washington, D.C. and surveyed the damage. He was devastated to find that a mere thirteen cities had survived the disaster. None of them were completely without destruction, either; their outlying areas were mostly wiped out, and the overall population of all cities took quite a hit. There was no doubt about it: things were going to be difficult, and the citizens of these three lone cities would have to pull together to make things happen. With only thirteen cities left by themselves in no particular state, the country adopted the new name of "the Federation". Yet unbeknown to the president — let alone the remaining citizens — their planet (Earth, which consists only of the Federation) felt the loss just as much as they did. And because it had taken such injury, it knew that if it didn't make itself recover soon, it would die ... never a glorious fate for any planet. So after allowing its inhabitants to recover first in a little over a year, Earth decided to take action by doing something drastic: it began bringing fictional characters to life. Yeah, they were sprung out of books, TV shows, movies — whatever — and made into physical human beings just like those who were already walking the planet. Earth, with all its amazing ability, made certain... adjustments to its pre-existing citizens so that the newly-arriving fictional characters could learn to adjust and live amongst them. And someday, Earth hoped, these newcomers — along with those who were already living upon it — might just help it to completely recover so that it may continue living for many years to come. |
