All of our five star rooms come complete with a mini-fridge and microwave, full cable and free movies. Don't worry about your things; your trunk will show up in your room. Once you're on our ship, you'll never want to leave. Which is good, because you'll never be able to.

The Love Boat is a Harry Potter AU game where you can have any character at any age from any era you can imagine. The characters show up randomly on the ship, then interact with each other. Ever wondered what a conversation between Harry Potter and Godric Gryffindor would be like? Or how Luna Lovegood and Merlin would interact? Well, come on over and find out! We have a strong player base and have been around since October of 2007.


People "pop" in and out of the ship all the time. In joining [info]the_love_boat you're not trying to "break into an established community". You're bringing a character fresh in from his or her own time line, and it's completely natural for him or her not to know what's been happening on the ship. Long story short, don't worry about "doing homework" and reading up on the community. The other characters will be glad to catch you and your character up!

Everything had gone back to normal. Six months after Sora, Riku, and Kairi found themselves returned to Destiny Islands life was finally starting to settle down again. There were no heartless to fight, no shadows to worry about. Instead, the three teens found themselves occupied with school, friends, and trying to move on with their lives. Sometimes it was easy to fall into routine; sometimes it wasn't. But they were all together again, and while life would never be the same, it could still be good. The heartless, nobodies, and keyblades were starting to fade into strange, exciting, and sometimes frightening memories. And yet...something still seemed off, as if the universe was holding its breath...

...and then it exhaled. And all hell broke loose.

The first indication of this was the heartless returning to many of the worlds. It went largely unnoticed until Leon discovered a shadow chomping on some newly installed wires. Some would say that was when all hell really did break loose, as the stoic brunet didn't much appreciate losing hours of work to a problem he thought had been (finally) taken care of, and the rest of the Restoration Committee didn't much care for having to patch up the smoking, gunblade-produced hole left behind. A message asking for help was quickly sent out, and it wasn't long before a certain bottle washed up on the shore of a certain beach. Sora, Riku, and Kairi are now back in Radiant Garden, searching for more answers and hoping to find a way to drastically cut back on the new legions of heartless that seem intent on taking over the worlds.

Something is lurking in the shadows. Can they find it in time?



In A Bottle plans to focus largely on character development and player-derived plot lines as opposed to epic, completely mod-controlled plots. We are looking for creative writers who wish to spend time exploring the worlds and characters presented to them in the Kingdom Hearts games in a creative, mature, and close-knit setting.

The fourth wife of King Phillip II, Olympias had an authoritative and passionate spirit. Olympias became angry at Phillip's rejection of Alexander and claimed Zeus to be the child's father. Olympias played an important role, historically, in the power struggles that followed Phillip II and Alexander the Great's deaths. Needless to say, a reincarnated version of Olympias would be quite interesting to see at [info]mythos, and she would have some potential line or two depending on the player's preferences and the characterization.

They weren't sure what caused it, just that it happened. A spill. Not lethal-- not enough to kill anyone. It was hardly enough to make anyone sick, really. So the powers that be, let it be. It was going to be too hard to clean up anyways. And the public turmoil it would have caused--! Too much trouble for one little, teensy mishap. It wasn't hard to cover it up. They made up for the lost chemicals by claiming they used too much in another project. When push came to shove, the scientists at the plant went into great (fake) detail, and no more questions were asked.

It wasn't until they realized that it'd gotten into the drinking supply that they started getting worried. People began showing up at the clinics and the hospital with shortness of breath, stomach bugs, and headaches. 'These things are normal in the summer months,' the doctors told the patients, and they went home unhelped. Sure, they were normal-- stomach bugs and headaches. But was it normal for a cut to heal overnight? Or fire to just spontaneously burst from a hand? Doubtful.

And it wasn't just a few people. It was the entire town of Bristol, Rhode Island that was affected. Everyone who had a sip to drink from the tap or cooked spaghetti or showered. Everyone.

How will the town cope with their new powers? Will they take advantage of them or refuse to embrace their fates? Will the entire population turn into a giant battle of good vs. evil?

One thing is for sure. There's something in the water....

The outcome is known, but how was it reached?

In late spring of 1997, Albus Dumbledore was killed by Severus Snape, and the Wizarding World changed. Hallowed Ground is an RPG community for writers interested in exploring the intricacies of what followed, reaching deep beyond what's already known. Deathly Hallows has provided us a road map to our destination but the journey is ours to write, ours to fill in and flesh out. Come discover where everyone who wasn't Ron, Harry, or Hermione went after fleeing Bill & Fleur's wedding, listen to the Sorting Hat's song for a new Headmaster, watch the DA reform and scheme up protests to the Carrows reign, the Death Eaters plan attacks on Muggle and Wizarding societies from inside the Ministry of Magic, and members of the Order of the Phoenix strive to keep a light shining in the dark. Join us in our endeavor to develop the adventures unseen as time winds down to a final battle unlike any writing experience you've had.

Hallowed Ground is searching for the absolute fullest compliment of cast possible. We accept any character mentioned in the seven Harry Potter books who is known to be alive on 1 July, 1997, and encourage insightful takes on both characters we know loads about and particularly ones we've barely met. The game will be played in real time, with some flexing as we approach the holiday season to allow for players' personal schedules. It is set to start 1 November, 2008 (1 July, 1997 in game) and end 2 September, 2009 (2 May 1998 in game), with as much time as is needed after to properly finish threads. Applications are being accepted now; both so that our players have time to get to know each other before we begin, and also so that we might get a majority of characters cast before the stories start, as it's harder to justify adding a character after significant events have passed unplayed. Players are asked to work with canon to develop their own path through the known story lines as we write, as there is already so much available room to maneuver.

Writers interested in applying should know that this will be a very community oriented game, with opportunities to develop friendships, contribute ideas, help see them to fruition, and have your voice heard. Moderating will be done by a council of founders to start, with elected players rotating the founders as we progress, preventing power trips and encouraging player participation while still providing the necessary assistance and guidance to make a game run smoothly. Experience is not required; we firmly believe that a writer brand new to RPG can develop a character fabulously and fully. Seasoned players are also happily accepted with their favourite known characters or brand new explorations, now is your chance to let someone new invade your brain! Goals:
  • To restructure HP canon so that the horcruxes are found in the Marauders' era instead of trio's.

  • Make finding and the destruction of the horcruxes more of a challenge than it was in canon.

  • Create wizarding world cultures around the world based on the clues provided by Rowling in canon as well as myths, legends, and folklore from around the world.

  • Expand on the characters' choices (enabling them to potentially become very different people and perhaps even switch sides over the course of the game) by giving them choices they never had in the books and making them do things they never did in the books. This includes placing them among characters they usually don't interact with much and in locations they would usually never go.

  • Give Death Eaters a vital role in the game instead of making them stand around looking fierce.

Resources plumbed in the course of research:
  • A Wikipedia article about a famous natural wonder (among others) whose location is undisclosed for its protection.

  • A lost city or three.

  • A slightly terrifying account of a Hungarian noblewoman who liked to bathe in young women's blood.

  • A video of Gordon Ramsay throwing up.

  • Two medieval bestiaries.

  • The winners of the 2007 World Beard and Moustache Championships, which we ultimately decided not to use, but which did lead to us finding the most awesome wallpaper ever.

  • The homepage for Bush's Baked Beans. Looking back now, this one got seriously out of hand.

  • (Warning: probably NSFW) These slippers. In this case, we have no excuse to offer.


Put it all together and you get an AU Harry Potter RPG set in 1979, with the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters racing each other all over the world to find the Horcruxes. No, honestly. You really do.
