What happens to the old gods, once their temples have crumbled and their believers have abandoned them? Do they die, forsaken, alone? Or do they remain, still wandering the world, immortal, surviving off what little belief they can gather? Forgotten Gods follows the lives of these old deities, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers moved on to new religions, the gods' powers waned - for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, attempting to regain the power that was once theirs, to revive their followings. And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the older gods, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep wariness. Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology. |

WANTED: The Beanie Baby Collector The Damsel in Distress The Daredevil The Future Official The Groupie The Homophobe The Inventor The PETA Advocate The Satanist The Sidekick Spy vs. Spy (2) | Perhaps we in the United States should've seen it coming. But apparently, no one did. Not until it was much too late. In 2010, following several years of international unrest, the President of the United States agreed to meet with a potentially-hostile foreign dictator over dinner to discuss the possibility of smoothing relations between the two countries. It seemed as if it would be a very low-key event, with both men standing down most of their active guards in order to show that they came to the meeting in peace. Unfortunately, all things went horribly awry faster than anyone could’ve guessed. Both leaders were kidnapped and assassinated by infiltrators in the foreign palace. The US Vice President was rushed to power, and called an emergency session of Congress to discuss the next best course of action. Apparently, however, the enemy was expecting this. The bombings took place right in the middle of the congressional session, destroying the entirety of Washington, D.C. and large portions of the surrounding area. The people of America were shocked. Within moments, nearly every important governmental figure in the country was dead. Who was in charge now? Did anybody know? There were a few Senators and Representatives that hadn’t made the special session, but they had (wisely) gone into hiding for fear of their lives. [read more] |

Are you growing tired of all those Post War games that seem to be popping up left and right now that the seventh book has been released? This game will take you back - back to when there were games where plot was the centric focus and things weren't always happy. Instead, they were serious, dark, and unknown. At Snitched, Voldemort was never defeated that night when Hogwarts went under siege. In fact, that night has yet to occur because the Death Eaters arrived at Bill and Fleur's wedding and captured many key Order members and guests in attendance. Some died, but most were imprisoned or fled somewhere safe. Since that fateful night, Voldemort has gained innumerable strength to the point where he is unstoppable. He owns the Ministry and the Wizarding World. Secretly, he owns the Muggle world and part of Europe where the Death Eaters flourish. Now that his reign is no longer contested, he has set about putting his plans into order. Muggleborns, Halfbloods, and those that are traitors to the cause are imprisoned. Some might be allowed out as slaves, providing of course that there are Death Eaters and purebloods who want them. Those that have yet to be caught are forced to flee and hide. Those that are still pureblooded are allowed to live neutrally amongst society. They are not forced to take the mark, but they are required to obey the new law - Voldemort's Law. Their loyalty must be unwavering - if they support another cause, then they must be absolutely mum about it. But word to the wise: Don't say Voldemort's name; the word itself will surely lead to the capture of those responsible no matter what their status in society. This game, which has gained 30 characters in two weeks, is not for the faint at heart. There will be dark themes and happiness will only be found in hidden corners or alleyways. There are those who will fight, who want Voldemort's reign to end, but doing so will take time, tears, blood, and sacrifice. |
The typical book club has two kinds of members. One, the person who's read every single piece of literature by that particular author and doesn't forget a detail. Or two, the newcomer who might not even know the author's genre but wants a place to make friends and have fun. The Reading Room is for both of these types, and everyone in between. The community focuses on five book clubs (Austen, Shakespeare, Rice, Rowling, and Lewis) in Everytown University For the Education of Young Men, and the six members of each. This is a men's college, and therefore the community is slash only. Whose book will you read next? Shelby, California, nestled at the foot of the San Bernadino Range, was once a widely populous town. Countless people migrated to the place in 1850 as a result of the Gold Rush fever spreading throughout the state. The game has been open and active since May 1, 2008. We currently have 30 very creative and wonderful players and 50 fantastic characters, and would LOVE to see more. Application : Guidelines Taken Characters : Wanted Characters |
