[ RULES | APPLICATION | CHARACTERS | TAKEN/PBs | EMINOR MACULA | TIMELINE | GAME CANON ]

On May 2, 1998, Harry potter defeated the Dark Lord Voldemort. All was right in the wizarding world. Kingsley Shacklebolt, in an effort to unite and rebuild the war torn wizarding community, refused keeping his position as Minister of Magic without a fair and open election - but, in the autumn of 1998, Gawain Robards, Head Auror, was elected Minister of Magic. Surprisingly, Robards was a rather neutral minister, pleasing not only Muggleborns, but Purebloods alike, implementing several positive changes which the majority favored. A bill was passed by the Wizengamot in early spring of 1999 that temporarily limited Muggle/Wizarding interaction in an effort to focus all Magical British efforts on rebuilding.

"With Gringott's sustaining such significant and transaction-hampering damages, it is essential that we focus our energies first on rebuilding and secondly on conversion rates." - Gawain Robards, Minister of Magic [from the Daily Prophet, February 5, 1999.]

The Minister was met with resounding approval for his efforts and plans were announced to officially reopen the new and restored Wizarding Britain to Muggle relations by early 2000. However, on May 2, 1999, Diagon Alley was attacked with Muggle explosives - likened by most Muggle Studies experts to a known Muggle act of terrorism. The attack came in response to the Minister's announcement of a delay in the reopening of Muggle/Wizard relations, due to a cave-in at Gringott's.

The initial attack was followed by two more, first to Gringott's Wizarding Bank and then to the Ministry of Magic itself. The Wizengamot allocated emergency power to Minister Robards, who immediately closed all contact with the outside world after a known Muggleborn group claimed responsibility for the attacks, claiming the Wizarding world could hide no longer and must learn to embrace Muggles and Muggle technology. Many around the Wizarding community called for immediate action, with the Minister acquiescing and encouraging all Magical British citizens to register their blood status and loyalties with the Ministry in an effort to find the terrorists and put them to trial.

The Daily Prophet reported skirmishes across Britain in the summer of 1999. In an effort to stop the attacks, Minister Robards used his emergency power to pass the Law for the Protection of Magical Blood and Honor, requiring all Magical British citizens to register their blood status by law. Anyone not complying with or protesting the law was to be arrested for treason and stripped of all magical rights and titles. Many complied, many rebelled - neither faction soley made up of Purebloods or mixed Blood.

And so it stands in March of 2000, wizarding Britain lies once again divided. Purebloods have rallied behind the MInistry, seeking protection. Muggleborns rebel, many lie torn. The Order has reassembled in secret. Attacks on Purebloods and the Ministry increase, those of Non-Magic heritage and their sympathizers have been labeled the new threat. Prominent Wizards have been arrested for refusal to comply with the New Ministry laws. Stripped of their rights, they turn to lives of secret and hidden rebellion. Sellers, made up of Ministry labeled traitors and sympathizers no longer able to legally support themselves, accumulate in Diagon and Knockturn Alleys to provide the population with now-illegal Muggle imports. Muggleborns and Half-Bloods are required to register as Non-Magic lineage. Those labeled as threats to the Ministry live in constant fear of raids, taxation or arrest as a traitor.

It is becoming clear where Ministry sympathies truly lie and Pureblood activists are calling for a culling of the Magical Britain and the removal of the Non-Magic threat. Rumors are surfacing among the populous, horrible rumors of the torture and branding of those arrested. And so peace can never remain long, and new battles are being waged. It begins - Eminor Macula, marking the threat . . .
