It is 2001, and Wizarding Britain is ripped in two.

The Trio’s hunt for Horcruxes hasn’t yielded success since the destruction of Slytherin’s locket in 1997. The Ministry is entering its sixth month of being controlled by the Death Eaters. Under Minister William Travers, personal liberties are at an all-time low and Muggleborns are practically slaves. At Hogwarts, the Carrows wreak havoc on the student body, with Headmistress Umbridge’s guidance and blessings. As they find themselves, one-by-one, on the Undesirables list, members of the Order of the Phoenix are moving into Number 12 Grimmauld Place, one of the only places they are safe. Disorder and oppression have become the status quo.

On the other hand, the Purebloods of society have found themselves in a Renaissance. Those who do not help the Death Eaters – or their un-Marked, junior faction, the Reactionary Federation – are taking to their legally established superiority with Golden Age decadence. Parties, marriages, and grandiose displays of wealth and power are commonplace. The Death Eaters and members of the Reactionary Federation, on the other hand, take their newfound power and use it to advance the Dark Lord’s aims amongst the populace. Whether they do so through laws, abuses of power, or outright terrorism depends on the person, but they make it known that there is a new order in the world, and that it will not suffer challengers.

Rent Asunder is a Harry Potter RPG that opened on January 13th, and currently has over twenty members playing nearly forty characters. We are AU post-HBP and, although we incorporate elements of the plot from DH, we do not use the same timeline and do not consider the epilogue. We’re seeking new players who are interested in character development within a larger plot. We are het, slash, femmeslash, and adult content friendly, but seek to focus more on characters and plot than shipping. Many roles are still open, including many major characters and many characters with a lot of plot attached.

The City of Gotham. Eleven minutes past midnight on the coldest night in November.

This is where good meets evil. It’s a thriving metropolis by day, carrying successful investors, lawyers and business men to the very peak of their careers and holding them there like they are atop a pedestal. Shoppers and day-tourists from neighboring cities visit and stroll the magnificent streets, throwing their money at the highest designer bidder. The harbor is bustling with shipments coming in to stock the numerous warehouses along shore side with goods, small shops set up selling the freshest seafood this side of the Atlantic.

But by night, that’s when you do not want to be caught roaming the streets. At night is when all the characters come out; when the streets are dark and the air is frigid. When the screams and gunshots start. When hitmen go on the prowl and when innocents loose their way. If you mind your own business, there’s a world of happiness for you here in the City of Gotham, but if you’re in it to cause trouble, trouble is what you will find.

Here in the City of Gotham, hopes and dreams can flourish; if you need to get rid of someone there’s always an ex-KGB operative willing to take the job. Caught with your pants down? Judges love to take bribes. Need a fix? There’s always a Candyman on the corner. And why can you hear the cries from the insane asylum all the way from West 31st Street? Where are the heroes? Are they hiding? Have they fled? Where are the miracles? This is the City of Gotham, the drug to your disease, the bullet to your pistol. You need it, as much as it needs you.

It seems that things aren't quite as settled as everyone thought -- Heartless are popping back up in places and making a right nuisance of themselves all over again. While there are not nearly as many as there once were, their numbers are growing, and the Restoration Crew are finding it a bit too hard to take care of them themselves. They have other things to do, after all, like rebuilding their homes and getting on with their lives, and, as always, there are not enough hours in the day to take care of everything.

After receiving a letter from King Mickey requesting their help, Sora, Riku, and Kairi packed their bags and headed to Radiant Garden, curious as to why things seemed to be starting all over again. Surely there was a reason for it, but with no villains in dark cloaks running around and harassing Sora, they found themselves faced with two probabilities: one, that the heartless were still spawning on their own from some unknown source, or two, there was a new megalomaniacal bad guy around, controlling the heartless and biding his time to make attempt number three at destroying the universe via use of heartless. Neither idea was particularly appealing, and it was decided that, once again, it would be up to Sora and his friends to fix things.

On top of all of that, it seems that, unbeknownst to out intrepid heroes, the members of Organization XIII are back, though in their original bodies. They have no memories of ever being in the Organization, and, for all intents and purposes, are back to living their normal lives -- until they, too, get mixed up in the business of dealing with the heartless.

The game picks up about a month after our intrepid trio arrived back at Radiant Garden. They're no closer to discovering the new source of heartless, but they're slowly clearing up the worlds again and helping the Restoration Committee. It's slow and sometimes frustrating work, but they're determined to clear things up (for the final time) so everyone can get on with their lives.

In fact, Torchwood Four is located right near Torchwood Three, or at least it was until it and its team got pulled into another universe. Which is where Lucian Devereaux comes in. It seems that he got a hold of a Time Agent's vortex manipulator in the far future and has been using it at his own pleasure. Well, until it backfired and he was sent to the present and made the rift flux, sucking Torchwood Four into it. Luckily, Major Sheppard wasn't there at the time. Now as for Lucian, he'd been jumping through time randomly and unwillingly as he tried to fix the vortex manipulator. During this time he realized that he'd jump from the present in Cardiff to some different point in time and then back. Along the way, he managed to bring back people with him who shouldn't be during that time, and that caused the rift to go haywire, also bringing people to the present that shouldn't be there: those that are dead, those who aren't born yet, and those in other dimensions. And so, Torchwood realized they needed to work extra hard to try and stop this and thus re-established Torchwood Four, somehow convincing Charlie to head it once more. And that is where we begin... Ever at the ready is a Torchwood/Doctor Who RP that allows for any character from either series (old and new) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place around the start of season two. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still, including The Doctor (any of them) and most of Torchwood Three. We're also looking for bad guys and aliens to be hunted down, as well as people to fill up the other Torchwood Teams. If you think you're ready, then we're ready to have you join the team! Tidbit of the Premise:
Lysander, during his readings through the journals, discovered the story of a Fourth Hallow and with the reluctant help of Hugo and Albus began the search for it. Little did they know that the Fourth Hallow was with them all along. When Hugo Weasley first left for Hogwarts, he had been given a present that his father hadn't received until his seventh birthday. It looked like an ordinary watch. There was nothing spectacular about it and it had been in the Weasley family for ages.

The boys were outside near the Great Lake, Hugo swinging the watch idly in his hand when his cousin Roxanne (or Roxy as he thought of her) set off one of her father's latest inventions on the boys. In Hugo's attempt to get away from the billowing and smelly smoke, the watch struck rock and popped open for the first time in centuries. There was a rip in time and space; a tesseract.

The Lowdown:
In this game not only can you play the epilogue children and acid babies from JK Rowling's notes and interviews, but also any character who may have died during the books. The children are sent back in time to the year 2000 and become stuck there with their parents even though their parents are of the same age. The Tesseract causes the dead to come back to life and no one knows how to stop it. Jumble that up with a release of prisoners from Azkaban and you have holy plot batman. We already have obscure hard to find characters cast like Dolores Umbridge, Gellert Grindelwald, Minerva McGonagall and Marietta Edgecombe!

The year is 2108, exactly 100 years in the future. Thirty years ago, people with superpowers started appearing across the globe, and not long after that, masked and caped Super Heroes started patrolling the cities, protecting justice and the innocent and effectively making all the everyday heroes almost obsolete. Lately, the government has been urging those with super powers to relocate to a new city designed especially for them. Located underground, the city (called "Haven") is massive and contains everything you could ever want. The only catch is that anyone inside the city is required to report once a week for testing - so the government's scientists can figure out what distinguishes someone with superpowers from the rest of the world. But don't worry, the tests are "harmless"! In fact, they even pay you for your time, right along with giving you free housing and a free car. What do you have to lose? But, of course, everyone knows the old adage. If it sounds too good to be true... cityofheroes is a game based around former super heroes who have all relocated to one, fictional city. We're focused on character interaction and development through focusing on scenes and threading, with a minimal focus on journals and other forms of communication. We plan to offer prompts for character reactions as well as a place with no cliques and no OOC drama. This game is about writing and having fun!
